- Most people don’t associate Moab with overlanding but it’s definitely possible. This is one of my favorite trips I’ve taken in Moab.

My kids and I watched this instead of some crap movie on hbo. We love the videos!
Hey Matt,
Thank you so much for sharing this Awesome Adventure & allowing a Senior to Enjoy & Live vacuously through your Adventure.
Cheers from Toronto, Canada!
Wow! What a fun trip!!
Just what the Dr. Ordered. Warm sun, great views and a awesome camp site. Thanks.
We did some overlanding in Moab during the Easter jeep safari. Got down to mid 20s and had some snow at night. Great time! Love the videos of your adventures and the recent post with you and your wife both talking about whatever.
FINALLY AGAIN!!!! Can only watch reruns so many times, young lady!! 😂
Thanks for sharing your amazing adventure Matt.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I spy a red fj40... sweet video Matt.
Great stuff thank you!!
Hi Matt, I really enjoyed this video. Thank you for sharing.😊 I wish you, Cara and The OOA Family a Happy and Healthy New Year!🎊
Thanks so much!!
Great video! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Great job editing this one, enjoying the variety of music.
Glad you enjoy it!
That solo night camp site is now on my radar. I'll be in that area in about a week. Beautiful spot!
A Very Happy And Blessed New Year!
🥳😇🎊
Same to you!
The music accompanying your content is great. Good work.
Glad you enjoy it!
Buc-ee’s has the best snacks. I have one 7 miles from me.
I was just out there alone in January. Did most of those trails. Beat the truck up pretty bad on Metal Masher. Moab is incredible.
Great off road.😍
Great trail - great video!
Thanks! 👍
Laughed way too hard at the more you know.😆😆😆
Awesome happy new year
Happy new year
Great video of course Matt. I need to see James’
build list. I have a Sahara as well. And am debating whether to build it out or buy a rubi.
Thanks for the vid, been to Moab many times and enjoyed it again. BTW I did Rock Chucker with my Isuzu Trooper some years ago. There's a vid of it somewhere on youtube. As with most Moab trails it looks more dug out now at the base. Oh, and my GOD those JL cooling fans are obnoxious.
I did rock chucker in 2000 in a 95yj on 33s with rear locker... it has changed for sure.
I'm seriously impressed with the guy in the blue Jeep's driving skills!! I seriously want lessons. Your locations are amazing! I'm new to your channel and I'm totally hooked!! I'm definitely going to visit some of your locations (the one's my Tahoe can access). Sir in the blue Jeep...if your wife drives like you in the places you go...she's a total bada$$!! I'm definitely going to continue watching your awesome adventures!
Thank you so much!! My wife can definitely hold her own driving her Jeep.
How do you know if it was limping? They look at the uniformity of the gate, the angle of the impressions (if limping your leg or ankle might be at an off angle resulting in a foot that is turned in/out, or canted to a side. There may also have been evidence of a foot dragging somewhat such as scrape marks in to or out of, or in between footprints. Even the depth of impressions could be an indicator. (At least in 4 legged critters, one with an injured leg will avoid putting much pressure on the injured leg. We do similar in that we will either stiffen the injured leg so as to brace it best we can to stabilize ourselves, or we will support ourselves to take weight off the injury.)
I enjoyed how much longer this vid was🙂👍
Glad you enjoyed
Ya had me at athe ice cream. Love your videos man.
I mountain biked that area extensively in the 90's and 00's and I remember that crack on Golden Spike being wider and deeper. I think the erosion has made it easier. That's my story and I'm sticking with it. Hah! 😀
The chip in the windshield looks like a mosquito. It’s got me twice now in two videos. 27:20
I’m packing for Moab and watching your stuff. 14 days with me and my dog coming.
Oh btw, dont forget a video of goose lake up there in red river. I am in ABQ and its a great run.
Yeah Goose Lake is awesome!!!
Absolutamente maravilloso Matt! Muchas gracias por compartir esto tan hermoso. Amo la cancion de apertura, por favor me dices de quien es? Un abrazo gigante
I have said before, and I am sure I will argue the point with you again in future videos. :P You have a winch, you got out without needing help from another. You were properly equipped to get yourself out... You did not break anything, or damage any sheet metal... No Soft Shackle of Shame earned.
Looks like a great trip. You should take up fishing so you can play in all those lakes you keep driving past.
When we hit the road full time i'm definitely going to do that.
Love watching your adventures!! You have a lot to look back on. Thank you for letting us be a part of all your adventures.
Bravo
Beautiful scenery and nice trails! Always wonder with cooking at night in bear country, have their been furry visitors?
Bears are afraid of people except in national and state parks where they get used to being around people and easy food. the only animal I've ever had an issue with at camp is raccoons. lol.
At 1:25:15 in, I'd be afraid to camp there, one wrong step in the dark could be bad. Love your videos!!!
Anyone know where this spot is? I know it's blasphemy to share spots online, but this looks truly epic!
Never mind I found it from Matt's description. I'll keep it quiet.
Man. You can tell your rig is built correctly. So many people talk about being loud and shaky when going fast in a built Wrangler or Gladiator. Yours seems just fine.
And people should know that this is a heavily modified gladiator.
You're on like 37s , 3.5 to 4 inch lift , plus a regear.
Thanks!! 3” and 37s in this video. 3.5” and 38s now. Building it right was always the goal.
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures you're at exactly 30° breakover angle now. That always seems like the magic number to hit ! When people wonder how much they should lift , I always say it depends on the wheelbase , but shoot for 30° breakover and figure out what lift and tire combo gets you there based on your wheelbase. That number comes from rounding up the most capable vehicles ever made in stock form : the best Bronco , the best 2 door Rubicon , the best Land Rover, Toyota FJ - they're all 25°-29°. If you hit 30 , you beat the best of every vehicle in the world in stock form , literally. The Suzuki Jimny is 28° , for example. Ya beat 'em all !
Need more missouri ozark content for those of us on this side of that hill lol 😆 great video as always keep them rolling.
I have yet to wheel in the Missouri Ozarks. I need to.
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures there are some beautiful places on this side of the hill to check out.
My KC light bar makes so much noise. No way I could hold a conversation. I wonder why mine is so much louder.
I wonder whose chair that was at the river.
que lux por las vistas a mis canciones gracias .......
Any chance you have a review video or plan to post one in the future on your Milestar Patagonia M/T’s or M/T 02’s (I don’t know which ya have).
Been between them and some Nittos for a while now. Trying to get a solid view of both tires before I make a decision.
I talk about them in quite a few videos. I love them. Mine are the new MT02 and they are the best tire I've ever run which includes Nitto Trail Grapplers.
I'm curious about James's rig.
Is it really a sahara? If so, does he still have the dana 30 axle up front with lockers? If so, I'm very impressed. Holy cow, his jeep did awesome. Again Awesome video. Great, great job.
Thanks Mark. If I remember correctly this was the first trip out after my axle swap. I am running Dana 44 front and rear. And now the only thing that is left as a Sahara is the transfer case and the elec swaybar disconnects.
@James Chaisson
Thanks
Did you ever contemplate selling the Sahara and just getting a Rubicon with the amount and type of off-roading you do. I only ask cause I have sport. And I've thought about it, just not sure.
Again, great job and nice jeep, AND I LOVE THE NAME...... I'm a captain American fan, and he's worthy 😁
@Mark Stewart early on I considered selling it and getting a Rubicon more times than I can count. But in the end I decided that with the $ that I already had in the rig and making additional mods slowly over time that I could build it myself for cheaper than I could buy a Rubicon for. I didn't know the 1st thing about Jeeps and very little about vehicles and suspension when I first got the Jeep. Over time I was able to learn and build it to where it is today. I love that the only time someone else has worked on my Jeep was a couple of weeks ago when I upgraded my gearing to 4.88s. Thanks for the comments. And yes Capt. is worthy as well.
I’m curious as to what tire pressures you are running on these trails?
Trails like this usually 14ish.
Ah, I see someone besides me taps the octane button with the gasoline nozzle!
What is the blocky item on your dash beside your phone mount
Speaker for my GMRS radio
17:10 ... And that my friends is why I drive a 2 door !!
Also, what's that whining sound at 21:25 ??
That's the sound of going fast in 4Lo with the 8 speed transmission.
Nice!! How long does it take you to get to Utah from your home?
21 hour drive
WHATS THE NAME OF THAT TRAIL MINUTE 35??? 😍😍
going out to MOAB in May, i had a question. Is there an easy trail to top of the world there
There is only one trail to Top of the World.
I often wonder why people take a plane to another country when they never seen their back yard North America is probably the most beautiful continent their is why spend 15k in another country and bad air services when you can invest in a recreation vehicle 🤔 and get year around pleasures think before planning a trip abroad safety first that's all to remember and contacts. Top of the world is breath taking..thanks
what are those blue boars on your rigs?
Boars?
What is the intro song? Its been stuck in my head for days now
We Could Go Anywhere
im sorry those blue boards
When you where driving on yhe dirt what was that whining noise it would go up when you run fast and go down in when slowing
Transfer case in 4Lo going fast with the 8 speed transmission.
Can you do the top of the world in a stock Rubicon
Yes. Definitely. I have a friend that did it in a stock Grand Cherokee.
On the rocks climbs your tires didn't have any choices less air would have have given you 10 times the traction spread the traction wow! You ride extremely hard tires only the center was touching those rocks but you said aired back up tires or shocks to me your talking suspension cause the tires mean alot in that situation not many pounds neither just way to hard for my driving. Canada style 😎 👌 but love the off path .
I was aired down to 14 psi.
Dumb question from a new Rubicon owner. How do you stick the patches to the ceiling panels.
We have Hotheads Headliners in our Jeeps.
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures velcro?
@@cgarrisonak velcro sticks to the headliner
Doe's James live that area
In Moab? No. He’s in Mississippi.
Why is that Silver Jeep so noisy? Sounds like a loud fan motor.
All JLs are like that. The fans are stupid loud.
Who is the music?
It's a mix of artists.
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures It's very fitting! Compliments to your cinematography!
How many miles on your rig now?
46,600
Is this a old video
It's a trip from last Sept 2021.
First!
que lux por las vistas a mis canciones gracias .........
