I've been in Matt's bar Fire bar a lot when I first came to Thailand in May and the staff are very friendly and I had a great time. Made some friends that I still talk to there. I also met Woody end of July with mutual friends and we had a good conversation and talked a lot about owning a bar. I'll be coming back next month so will say hello 🙈

Thank your for the entertaining video. Regarding the visa, i agree to consult an agency. I hear lot of stories, how easy and cheap it is to do it on your own. This may be. But for me personally, i value my remaining lifetime over the money I spent on an agency. In terms of money, the fee is quite high, but you save lifetime, stress and can enjoy your life in peace. The service is worth considering.

Hi Daz & Claudio, really enjoy the video chat with the 3 guys and the insight to there settling in to living in Thailand/Pattaya like to wish them al the best. Only advice I would give them don’t stay in the bar business too many years you will end up bitter and cranky like most of the foreigners owner who stay to long only my opinion. I'm coming to Pattaya for the first time later this year, this trip will be a recce for a place for early retirement from the UK. Daz's channel has already been an amazing source of information and now I have the TiT podcasts too, these videos are great, they have answered many nagging questions I had with regards to moving to Pattaya and what kind of lifestyle would be available to me. Also having contacts for accommodation etc will be invaluable to a newbie. Thanks for your time & efforts it will make a difference to newbies like me! 🙂
Nice Q&A - about Retirement Visa and the guys saying it was easy - were they saying getting the original Retirement Visa is easy or subsequent to getting the original Retirement Visa that the process is very easy?

Another Great Tit Podcast, in regards to a budget its a each to their own ~ im quiet confident i could live quiet comfortably on £900 a month , thats including rent and other household utilities.month, and be able to go out for a few beers 6 or 7 nights a month's its very doable. If you're a party animal and like to drink in bars everyday and buy lady drinks £900 wouldn't be enough.
I agree m8…..that’s about my budget when I relocate in January….yes you will have to have will power but it’s definitely possible 👍🏻

I agree retirement visa is super simple if you use a Thai agent, but be prepared for the “know it all” bar stool ex pat to tell you that you overpaid 😂😂😂 Just a little research will give you the correct price. You won’t go far wrong with Maneerat on Soi 13/2

Your average single unit bar costs about 1 million baht to buy or set up lncluding key money and other bribes
Not too many people are going to give exact figures in opening a place but always happy to chat about it over a beer.
Thai driver's are not patient. Most of them don't even have a license. How many times have you seen them running red lights! They also try to run you off the road, especially when your on a bike. Tell Matt that Vegemite is available at Big C. Expensive for a small jar but it is available.

retirement visa and owning a bar confuses me. as I understand it if you have a retirement visa then you are not allowed to work... so what am I missing?
