Three 3D Animations in Geometry Dash

- I made these for a contest that was recently held in @viprin 's discord server. Since they got a lot of attention on twitter, i decided to make a little video explaining how they were made, despite the fact that I am currently in the middle of the mountains. Sorry for the resulting slight drop in quality :)

if this guy was really a NASA engineer i won't be surprised
actually i would be surprised because how does he have this much time on geometry dash when he should be working on rovers and crap

I mean, the entirety of multimedia is based on pixels, and GD has pixel like blocks so it's no wonder stuff like this can be made
@@andro_king yeah but think about a literal square game,and then about this,cool right?and these are things done with a lot of effort put into em,so going from squares and particles to 3D kick-ass animations is really impressive

@@FigoD3r yeah, I'm just saying if you can add and subtract you can make a computer. So GD can (if it were optimized to hell and back) run minecraft, eventually. Maybe even itself

You are able to combine the classic effects (here, parallax) and the mathematical perfection of programs to push the effect to never-seen-before proportions. I'm just so impressed by your skills. Taking suck a basic concept to extend it way beyond what anyone thought was possible. Your knowledge on these kind of things and your cleverness is surely mindblowing, I'm glad you decided to bring these to the GD community, your stuff is always jaw-dropping :D

What are you even doing in gd, you can go so much further with your insane creativity in art. Not complaining though, pretty damn awesome
Regardless of being computer/algorithm/vector-based-calculus assigned, the fact that you were able to implement those computer science methods into the game is insane by itself. I think Viprin will most likely add rules against this in the future, especially as other people figure out how to use these same techniques, but at the moment you're one of a kind Sput

@@StrayFei You could see it as cheating in a way, once someone writes a script to import any animation into GD and then releases said script the idea won't be original anymore.
@@petey5009 Cheating or using code? People surely haven't gone out of their way to remove noclip from the game, and that's certainly more harmful.
@@petey5009 the thing is, sput didn't release the script. And even if he did, the scripts are so narrow in focus and niche that if anyone wanted to innovate, they would have to write a completely different script for the specified subject.

I’m starting to think you should be getting way more recognition and attention for this kinda stuff than you’re getting right now. The level of complexity yet simplicity in this is literally something I never thought would be possible in this game. You’ve always been one of my favorite creators but this is taking it to a whole new level. Keep flying high spu7 🙌

Glad I stopped levelmaking (and pretty much GD in it's whole) years ago, I wouldn't be able to hold up in skill level and mapmaking.
honestly i wouldnt be surprised with 4d, saving each part of the 4d as different 3d parts, seems like something you could pull off

Extremely creative and well made as always! Just curious, the first one seems possible to make with just rotate triggers, yet you said that they are too imprecise? Is there no way of fine tuning trigger values outside of the editor?
You could maybe make something similar with rotate triggers, but it would take way more time than I had for this 1 week contest. If this was for a real level, I would have used triggers instead, but since this contest had no limits for objects and such, i decided it would be easier to do it frame by frame.
This is required a lot of patience and hardwork ❤️

It's not 3d though, it's 2d with a shit ton of parallax to give the illusion of 3d. Still impressive, but not actual 3d.
