You could use the builder pattern to reduce params in one call and do something like `column_builder.new().layer(layer).colors([(r,g,b)])...build()` It does increase the boilerplate but also allows you to set sensible defaults in the 'new()' call and you only have to call the builder functions that you actually need for a given column.
That would be just like making a game and screenshot every single possibility in the game, and then use those pictures to make the game itself... yeah that wouldn't be very efficcient would it?
