Jim Hall...a life for the good music,a life for the guitar, Jazz guitar. One of the best absolutely !
"Jim is father of modern jazz guitar to me, he's the guy who invented a conception that has allowed guitar to function in a lot of musical situations that just weren't thought of as a possibility prior to his emergence as a player. He reinvented what the guitar could be as a jazz instrument... Jim transcends the instrument... the meaning behind the notes is what speaks to people." - Pat Metheny
RIP Dr. Jim Hall.
Steve Laspina on bass is quite wonderful....what a great trio. We miss Jim Hall.
Had a unique approach and was years ahead of his contemporaries. Still sounds so cool, modern, musical and sophisticated. What a tone! None of the fusion guys came near.
Apparently you never listened to Allan Holdsworth?
Even in the winter of his life he played genius stuff
i saw him with these guys and greg osby at birdland in 2011 and he was as good as ever.
It's supreme and wonderfull to listen to this musical conversation.
A very nice Steve La Spina (great solo), and Joy Baron..., he can play anything. Everybody had listened to him in Bill Frisell's "Is that you?"?
What can I say about Dr. Hall. The man said, "fuck it, I will hand-switch this so called foot-switch". Legend.
magnifique
Masterful!!!
Fantastico Jim Hall!
Incroyable ce qu'il envoi encore à cet âge...
Like in the textbook of jazz guitar playing. Perfect Jim Hall.
Beautiful

WANDERFULL IS IN 3/4
He's using a DigiTech Whammy? I never saw that coming.
Shocking and very cool.
Where and when was this recorded? My guess is 2012.
I think Sylvan Luc listened to this. A lot of similarities
What a sense of tempo and control
Is that Gabe Newell with contrabass?
lmao
Steve LaSpina
¿Is that a whammy pedal on a stool to the left of Jim?
Daniel Micheli yep
And a digitech whammy at that lol
Hes using it as am octave pedal i think
E major is "All the things you are"
New drumheads for Joey.
I don't like that octave pedal, otherwise he is my hero and has been for 40 years.
