Cows often mask their injuries. It's a natural instinct as a herd animal to prevent them from looking weak and being targeted by predators. So, when you see one walking like this one, you know she is in major pain. She desperately needed your help. Good job cleaning that mess up.

Just found your channel. First one I see is very dramatic. The poor girl could barely touch the ground with her front foot. Finally getting the capsule open to drain must have felt wonderful for the cow. With a block and bandaged claw she walked out but still sore from being woirked on.
Glad that you included the two week check. The block and bandage still on, you check her sore claw. After two weeks it won't be healed, but you cleaned everything and it showed progress. More treatment wrapped on and as she stepped from the crush she put the sore foot on the ground. You have done excellent work for this lovely lady. Happy New Year and Festivities.🎉🍾🕛🌟

The differences in toughness of the coreum and its flexibility never fails to amaze me;& just how fine a sliver you can pare off- just proves how sharp your knives are! Lots of deftness, strong wrists, and dexterity, points to experience of time.Perhaps you might get an opportunity to let us know how Tom first learnt his craft,& what caused you to follow him;- as well as the changes over time as managing cattle has progressed from the herds of yesterday to the large herds & industrialisation of today.Wishing you,the family and all here a safe, healthy, contented &prosperous 2024!🎉 (& lotsa coffees, with no damaged fingers! You would not even know it was the same cow 🐄🐄🐄 if you looked at the before and after pictures. If you have ever had a boil or cyst you know the relief you feel when they are laced. It is amazing how quickly and how much it heals in two weeks. It is good to see the hoof care being used more because until recently i think they just hobbled them along and when it got to bad they sent them to slaughter.
