Would be interesting to see how much ammo a team can carry, and how much room it takes up for all that silence. Even though standard mortar rounds take up a bit of space with the protective packaging. Still a cool weapon that I hope to never be on the receiving end of.
Actually I saw that those secure packaging is used when there is a supply car nearby. In the fields those rounds stored in the bag without any additional protection since they are not 'activated' and dangerous. You may even play basketball with such mine and it won't blow.
Regarding actual ammo... I saw that for RPG operators carry from 6 to 9 rounds (3 together with launcher and second person up to 6 additional) but those rounds looks smaller and lighter. So we may defiantly say that carrying of 10 rounds on two soldiers is not a problem.
@@Volodymyr_SVD yea, depends on the size of rounds, 120s will have trailers, 81 and 60, a max will be packed in backpacks, without the tubes, along with carrying cases to be carried over shoulder, supporting infantry would carry an extra round each along with belt ammo for the MG, in the FFL we had the LGI a spring loaded with charge mortar, that's sorta the same as the 2B25, less range though.
Looks like a 60/61 mm mortar so 6 to 8 rounds a man
@@jhnshep as a 81mm man I can say with confidence that walking in without a ammo cart is a really bad move. Usually it takes 8 to 12 shots from your first position to be on target. We had a company foot manoeuvre and the captain told us we needed to walk all our gear in. About 10 km so what we carry is what we shoot. This meant the whole company had to carry 2 or 4 rounds to have some effective fire support. (About 4kg per shot). That is offcours on top of mg’s + ammo, At4’s, radio’s, food, water, medical supplies (like stretchers) and all the other good stuff. To ad to that every round needed to be walked in to the mortar pit. So all movements were true one route. In my 6 years of service I have never heard so much upset sgt’s. Yes you can walk in a 81mm with ammo but no you shouldn’t.
@@MultiBjorn21 Oh I get that, Though I was a paratrooper, and even I was milan we trained carrying rounds on top our milan stuff, buggies and trailers would come later, just answering the question, how would the guys carry them, without tubes, which he said takes up space
Damn .... it's a genius design!
A simple carrying handle on the tube itself would be beneficial for rapid exit from the area where you fire it.
I remember reading about a similar mortar round back in the 70s, I believe it was Swedish but may be wrong. That mortar was a spingot type with no tube
I saw something like that, but on the French army if I remember correctly.
That's basically how this works. The US also has a silent 40mm which works on the same principle but the projectile obturates instead of using a piston. All these projects were declassified likely because sound suppression doesn't matter that much when your payload goes boom.
Looking forward for Guided munitions
This looks cool. Will I be seeing a 2B25 in my Local Bass Pro?
Not likely to happen. Bass are best hunted with torpedoes.
Maggot round.
was going to buy a new car, but i'll end up getting ten of these instead

@@MultiBjorn21 just look how long the ammo is 😂 honestly why didn’t they consult with actual soldiers who use those weapon systems ? Even our SAS use our 81mm Mortars
@@MultiBjorn21 we trialed using quads and small trailers to help carry our ammo around had mixed results usually had one unimog per mortar section ie: 2 barrels our Mortar Platoon in my Infantry Battalion had three mortar Dets/Sections 81, 82 & 83 for a total of six Barrels was a great job
@@MultiBjorn21 we first used Singaporean Tampella Ammo the switched to German Hurtenburger ammo the Tampella was fantastic because they came in really durable waterproof boxes four rounds to a box in individual carry cases of 2 bombs and as the boxes were expendable items we always kept the ammo boxes had 101 uses chilly/esky bin or tool boxes or storage I left the Army with 23 I only have 3 left everyone wants one lol
Yeah, the stuff that keeps bricks together tends to not talk.
HONESTLY I LIKED THIS RUSSIAN UNIQUE MORTAR
Where can i buy the BTR-82A and VPK-233136. And does it come with free shipping lol?
I like the new light weight ammo too.
Rosboro - please make a manual set proximity fused RPG 7 ammo type. Like an egg timer dial on your oven just turn the knob on the nose cone to 250 - 275 - 300 meters and shoot! You'll make it so those jihadi corner fighters can't hide so easily from direct fire.
how would it determine the proximity?

i think this idea wont work as intended.
i will order 2 if you can deliver before Christmas :)
Other than lighter weight alloys are used, this is hardly new tech. The trigger fired spigot mortar was seen on the battlefields of WW1. The captured piston system i remember from fifty years ago and i remember the WW2 British PIAT as a parent concept of this.
Very nice. Any updates on silenced rocket launchers and silenced flamethrowers?

can you send me the Amazon link ?
Yes but can I shoulder fire it
How abut produce a usable car or LED TV, or mobile phone or laptop?
Very cool.
Great design, russian ingenuity!
But ... why the extra weight of the tube? Is there a function we do not know?
And: how about using the enclosed gases to extend range?
They should make Carbon fiber mortal tube so that it will be so light
I'd like to see 2 of those, side by side mounted on a car with a 6 man team.
That would increes acuracy and cause a faster rpm.
Two man crew. OK, the mortar itself is very portable. But, look at the size and length of the rounds!!! They look incredibly cumbersome to manpack...
love the jacket
Almost all videos on Rosoborn channel starts with "Hi everybody " ...so naturally we repeat "Hi doctor Nick" ;-)
p.s. Did she just said "Butt of the tube " Oh my good... :-)
AAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA jeste, to je rekla!!!!
All the performance of 60mm light mortar with double the weight, bulky ammunition and half the rate of fire...
The truck mounted mortar systems they are about to finish testing seems much more impressive.
I used the 4.2" mortar with 4id in vietnam good range very accuret 10th armor cav. Pleiku vietnam.
if its a spigot why is the outer barrel required, It does not bear any pressure?
So you can use conventional rounds also
@@tatersdomergue6463 but the spigot is in the way
@@Vrilltrooper-of-sillymaxxia I think that it is simply removed and the base of the tube would have a conventional firing pin or trigger pin
@@Vrilltrooper-of-sillymaxxia I could make one with common tools, so, they definitely could make it work or you could make these yourself. The shells are expensive to male but the tube is just the aiming and firing device
Probably there are alos standart types of ammunition without silencer if needed. But also barrel for aiming.
Which isle in Walmart?
лучше бы блогеров позвали на обзор новинки.
Not saying it is useless, but the "silent effect" is only effective for the first round (the detonation of which will tip off the target), and the odds of the first round being right on target are small.
At best a very niche market weapon.
Mortar rounds leave the barrel at faster than the speed of sound. Even if the sound of the shot arrives first, it'll still be pretty close to the mortar rounds arrival. Did no one think about this during the whole development process?
My guess that this stuff is really for deploying chemical weapons and pyro like phosphorous for instant smoke screens. I doubt Russian special forces would care much about frag when they should have air support.
Keeping the mortar "silent" helps prevent detection of the precise position from which shelling is occuring from, the less cues the opposition have for determining where to launch counter-fire towards, the better.
Audio based counter battery.
Used only for very specific scenario only.
basically a huge grenade launcher
what the range?
Suitable for ages 8 and up.

A twist on the spigot mortar with the 'spigot' inside the round.
Could one not make this round compatible with existing mortars ?
It's actually a bigger version of the old KGB assassin's pistol - the PSS.

1000mm is not very far for mortars
But most that can fire farther weigh much more. This seems like a great platoon level indirect system.
It's the same with silent guns: How far does a 45 ACP, or 300 Whisper shoot? The latter could shoot quite far, but the bullet drop makes aiming difficult. Plus, it takes much longer for the round to reach the target, which in turn could result in shooting behind the enemy... Plus, it's more sensitive to wind...
👍👍👍👍
Silent, but deadly...
Que tontería, una nota sobre un mortero silencioso y ponen musica de fondo al momento de usarlo.
the LGI Mle F1 french mortar is better
Silent 🤔 no sound 😂
At least be honest about the obvious.
Compared to peer conventional mortar systems, this is a mouse fart.
I’ve been on the receiving end of mortar fire, many times you can hear the round being launched and take cover long before it hits. Won’t happen with this system.

The outer tube seems pretty wastefull when it uses a spigot to launch the shell.
Yeah, it's needed to guide the shell and it's part of the structure.
@@FairladyS130 The spigot guides the shell. And there is no need for a structure where there is no pressure or forces.
@Yuck Foutube Nope. The piston inside the base of the shell is what makes sure no combustion gases escapes to make sound.
I'm not a weapons designer, but in the mock-up of the weapon used indoors - the shell just seems to rest on the side of the tube - This makes me think the whole thing is pretty unstable and will result in terrible aim. To me this just seems like a WWII era grenade-range-extender.. No real tactical purpose other than just throwing more explosives downrange.. We're not fighting like that anymore in 2021..
Why isn't it a spigot mortar? The outer tube tube is Al alloy, it's a suppressor. Could even be fiber reinforced polymer if Americanski toys like AR, LOLski. The charge detonating is the noisiest event which is muffled by the tube. The moving piston is noisy & the tube would need some complex pressure seal or as it likely is some burning gas escapes, noise & flash muffled by the tube. Rather the tapered constriction at the end of the round jams & seals the piston. If it smacked into an abrupt ledge that would be noisy and an unreliable seal. Ze Russians know little trick or two about suppressed small weapons such as the PSS SP-4 piston pistol cartridge that works on the same principal.
