    What about the IGN-3F to the 10-Pin Molex connector located on the HWK-TW01-HAR, you just showed it and tuck it away without connecting?

    Hi. On the ign-3 ignition module, which end is the correction for connection?
    Plug One end led green is always on.
    Other end led light is blinking/flashings.
    What the purpose of the ignition module?
    Thanks

      The IGN3 uses data it obtains from the OBD2 connector to provide a switched power signal to the dash cam/ DVR.

    I just ordered this for my Thinkware U1000. How does this work with a backup battery? I haven't ordered one yet just wondering where that would plug into?

    • @cartecknow1817
      @cartecknow1817  Před 3 lety

      This cable is not set up to directly plug into the backup battery, only the cameras.

    Will the dealer void warranty or will they still be able to plug there scanner to view issues with the car? Thank you

      The harness includes male and female connectors, so you'll still have access to an OBD scanner.

    Hi
    I’ve install the dash cam f800 pro with the hardwiring one cable. It works only in continuous mode. Any other mode like parking, motion censor etc it doesn’t work no matter what settings I choose . Did you have had any similar issues with that model?

      You need to hardwire 2 cables for it to detect that it's in park.

      This cable was made specifically for the Thinkware cameras and has not been tested with other brands.

    That's a prudent option.
    Would this work on my old 99-05 Lexus IS200? If the dashcam is a premium one like thinkware I should be able to limit parking mode to a few hours via the cam, right? That way I won't empty my car battery.

    • @cartecknow1817
      @cartecknow1817  Před 3 lety

      You are in luck! the OBD2 connector has been standard in vehicles since 1996. So your 1999 - 2005 Lexus will have the required port to use this power connection harness. There are several settings that you can adjust using the app on a connected cell phone. These settings can limit the amount of recording that happens when the vehicle is parked. This dash cam should not empty your vehicle's battery. But rest assured there are adjustable settings. I like the smartphone app, it makes it easy to adjust settings anytime you are in the vehicle, without needing to connect a cable, or remove anything.

    If you purchase this OBD-2,would you need to buy the battery pack so that it wont drain the battery and do all that crazy installation?

    • @cartecknow1817
      @cartecknow1817  Před 3 lety

      The Thinkware cameras do have a battery protection feature that you can turn on to prevent them from draining you battery.

  • @KikyoMoon

    Is there any possible harm to the car battery over time by using this?

    • @cartecknow1817
      @cartecknow1817  Před 4 lety +1

      Not at all. These dash cams pull very little power during parking surveillance mode. Even if you plan on leaving your vehicle in a location unused for an extended period of time, like an airport parking lot, there is no threat of draining or damaging the battery.

      Yes, there is a battery protection setting that you can enable to ensure your vehicles battery will not be drained by the dash camera.

    • @cartecknow1817
      @cartecknow1817  Před 2 lety

      The camera will either shut off after the ignition turns off, or go into "parking mode" recording, depending on the options chosen for recording in the camera's menu.

    • @cartecknow1817
      @cartecknow1817  Před 3 lety +2

      This harness is intended to be a plug and play option so you can use Parking Mode. If you have the 12v plug in a constant 12 socket your camera is constantly recording and not using the specific Parking Mode feature.
