Honda Jon is the not the hero we deserve but the hero we need!
Aww thanks bro. I do really appreciate all you. 👊🏼
Not sure if this is a compliment or not…
Thank you!! This trick worked on my 2022 Honda Accord Sport 🙌🏾🙌🏾 Not all heroes wear capes!
This is one of the best tips I’ve found that actually works!!! I thought my speakers were blown since it sounded so distorted. I almost replaced the speakers and tore the rear deck apart. Luckily HONDA JON helped me out. Thank you
Great! Glad to hear that it helped you out. 👍🏻
After u turn off the car do u need to do it again?
I can’t say I was overly impressed with this settings change with my factory speakers. After replacing them though I can say it makes a big difference.
For the 2020 Honda CRV EX-L the head unit limits the EQ response and it sounds terrible. No bass
Honda Jon again with another great fix. Thank you so much!
Thank you ! My sound was the only thing I didn’t like about my Accord .
Did this yesterday and can verify a noticeable difference at higher volume. Thanks again!
Nice man. Yeah it definitely makes a nice difference 👊🏼
Thank you! Have a 22 Accord Sport 2.0T and I did do this on my car and sounds better! Thanks 🙏🏻
Wow I just did this to my 2021 Honda Accord Sport and all I can say is WOW!!!!! What a difference
Definitely makes a big impact 👍🏻
Well good to know it works on a 2021. Will be trying this out eventually.
you’re awesome my volume was on 40 before sounded so low now i can drive and dance
Thank you for this tip! I’ve started getting used to the sound quality but I definitely don’t mind better sound!
No problem. It’s does definitely help the average sound system for sure. 👍🏻
Not working for me bud. Holding the home, power, tune for 6 seconds. No beep, no change in screen to the next step. Any ideas? Mine is a 2021 exl model
Wow it is a significant difference!! Thanks 😊
Anytime. Thank you. 👍🏻
My guy thank you, night and day difference
Legit made a HUGE difference. Thank you!!
👍🏻
Wow noticed the difference immediately in my 2021 sport, thank you.
Of course. It’s definitely noticeable and it’s awesome that it doesn’t cost a thing
It does. It sounds crisper and has deeper bass. The overall quality goes up a couple notches. I highly recommend doing it.
Thanx for the Luv John Always appreciated
Of course bro. Thank you.
Thank you. You're the greatest. I just LOVE my silver 2020 Honda Accord Sport. Have a super great day.
Aww. Thanks so much. 👍🏻
That’s the exact Honda Accord I want but haven’t found one yet around or near Stockton, CA area (The Valley)
Removes the compression sounds like. More dynamic range.
I like it!
Yeah definitely gives it a richer sound. Makes the stereo sound pretty good considering.
Wow it really works!! Thanks Jon!!
Of course. It’s a neat trick.
Just did this on my 2023 Civic Sport Touring and it's a night and day difference. Got the treble, mid, and bass cranked all the way up as well. Makes a big difference.
👍🏻
How did you do it on a civic if the source button is on the screen?
What buttons did u press
Yes how is it done mine is also on the steering wheel
Wow! Thanks man made it so much better!
Glad to hear it.
Thanks, keep these coming.
Thank you.
I just did this to my 2019 and it absolutely works!
Nice! I'm going to try this on my 2019 Accord
Thanks I did it and the sound is more better thanks
Nice. No problem man. 👍🏻
Definitely made it better, maybe upper trim is same system with this software switch
Keep up the great work
Thanks bro. Really appreciate that.
Done! Thx, dude! 👍
Worked on my 22’ Hybrid Sport..Thanks
Nice. 👍🏻
Thanks for the info.. I have a 2019 accord sport and it works
Nice. It’s a nice change.
@@HondaJon yes it is a very big change
It’s working now thanks bro
Thank you, sounds much better!
Glad it helped. 👍🏻
Awesome! Im gonna be swapping out all stock speakers soon and this will help out big time!
As always, good looking out Jon. Stay safe, bro! ✌🏼😎
Nice man. It definitely will. Crazy how changing this one setting makes a difference 👍🏻
@@HondaJon Whoa! I just disabled that crap off and a whole lotta difference! Much clearer and somewhat of a boost… wtf? lol
Im thinking of slapping some JBL’s now! Haha!
😆👍🏼
Nice. I know it’s crazy how it changed it. With new speakers you’d be golden.
@@HondaJon Heck yea- for sure, bro! 😎🤙🏼
@Infamous619 can the stock radio push aftermarket speakers?
Sound really nice better thank you
Just great!!! Thanks
@Honda Jon Thanks for the great info, I feel that my Honda Accord Radio sounds better by leaving the preset feature on, it has that studio sound to it. It sounds really flat without the preset Noise cancellation on. Thanks 🙏
Great. I’m
Glad it helped. It’s the little things that make a difference for sure. 👍🏻
You are so right. l turned mine off and it sounded with less quality. Sad part now is that l can't get back into it to turn it back on. Any suggestion?
Bruh the bass sound so much better when I change it thx so much like I can feel the bass way higher and better tune to it
No problem. I agree. Made a big difference and instantly sounded more premium 👍🏻
It legitimately made a difference! I had speakers left over from a previous
Project I was about to put in work.
For sure.
Helps and thanks for the upload but the stereo on my 2021 Accord SE still sucks for almost 40k idk why we didn't get a better sound system
Good one Jon 👍💯
Did it thanks amazingly better sound.
Definitely 👍🏻
It’s a pre set audio setting so people don’t blow out the speakers. But this hack does work and instantly makes it sound better
Definitely agree with that 👍🏻
@@Brianuwu622 they will only blow out if you constantly have it at the max volume stetting. You also have to remember they come with cheap china speakers so they aren’t the best speaker either.
Great video 👍🏼. I tried this with my new 2022 crv which had terrible sound quality. Was a little different for my car. Pressed brightness, power and phone button same time to get the hidden screen.
How did you get to the PS setting ? I been trying holding different buttons but can’t get to the ps setting
And then?
For honda crv you need to hold the phone button to go the next menu.. do this twice until you see the syscom free mode. Then turn off the EQ to flat.. it sounds better !
Thank you Jon!
Anytime bro.
Hell yeah. Sounds way better.
Now I know what I'm doing at lunch time and testing with Thunderstruck!
Nice. You’ll notice the difference. Makes an improvement over the average audio system
@@HondaJon And so will all of my neighbors.
😝
You are the man thank you.
much better thanks bro💪💪💪
No problem
THANK YOU !!!!!💯
You just saved me a lot of money! Thanks a lot lol
Anytime 👊🏼
Great video! However, for anyone watching this, there is also a CTR ACC SOCKET (#16) for the charger in the center console in between the driver and passenger seat...
Thanks and great info 👊🏼
It is ridiculous how much of an improvement this makes! I cannot imagine why they would have put this “feature” into the system. I wonder what PS on does other than make the audio system sound terrible.
i'm guessing it means "preset"
I've read about this before but didn't try it til today. Sounds better but could be a placebo? Still testing. I have an 18 Touring Hybrid. It may be only on the higher trims, 2.0 etc. but I don't know.
Thanks HJ. I've watched all your Accord vids I think!
Thanks man. I appreciate that. It definitely makes a difference. Sounds more crisp and some deeper bass for sure.
If you have a 2023 Ridgeline, you need to simultaneously press and hold the Home + Menu + Brightness + Volume/On/Off buttons, once the two choices pop up, select the lower choice, then press and hold the menu button until more choices appear. Then select Audio Test and turn off ANC. It works a dream on the audio quality.
I could tell/hear the audio literally interfere with itself. This turns off "Active Noise Canceling". It will stop trying to cancel the parts of the music it thinks is Noise. Would that be correct ?
@@normansimonsen1203 ANC crushes the dynamics into a solid mass of sound at low volume and gives some dynamics at mid volume, until once again crushing the audio peaks and turning the sound back into a solid mass at higher volume settings. So effectively the music is just a way to piss of the driver so much, they never notice the road noise, while in reality the music has become masking noise.
Oh it definitely pisses off the owner of a 42,000.$ new vehicle vehicle with a sound system worse than a 1965 2 transistor radio 📻.
Unfortunately, doesn't work for UK'S civics
@@vini5729 Best way is to remove the ALC module. My Honda dealer quoted me $180 to do it.
also when you're playin' your own music files, use high quality lossless files like wav. or flac instead of mp3
Thanks bro
I’m aware this is mainly for the Accord but is there one for a Civic? Specifically 2020? I’d love to this. It sounds decent but you can only “see” the bass in the mirror.🤷🏻♂️
Thanks for the tip...i had a silver 2019 1.5l like u and i traded it in for 2019 2.0 sport manual
Nice. How are you liking that 2.0?
@@HondaJon its got hella pull!! I love it , and u have the best color!!!
Totally agree there. It definitely has some punch. Surprises me sometimes how quick it gets on it. You have the rare one being a manual 👍🏻
@@HondaJon hey do u see more black sut after wiping from finger on the tailpipe then the 1.5? Likes its rich? I have more black sutt on the 2.0 with 6 k miles then my old 1.5 that had none and had 15k miles?? Is this normal? Im ocd in some way ..
lol. I hear ya. I do
Notice it but it might be because I drive it a little harder 😝
I most try this bro
Yes this does work. I have a touring and I changed all my speakers out to infinity and the subwoofer to kicker and definitely sounds better. The only downside to this is you lose some of the warnings of the female voice talking to you like seatbelt reminder and other stuff of that nature. But if you’re not worried about that then It’s great
Do you still get the warning on dashboard?
You will.
Accords talk when your seatbelts not on? I gotta 2018 lx and mine only talks when i used the radio buttons on the steering wheel lol
Man I got rid of tht voice without this lol. I juss get tha dashboard warning no voice interrupting my music lol
When you say you replaced the subwoofer, did you replace it into the same location on the rear deck? Or is it seperate box in the trunk?
Wow nice thanks
👍🏻
Do you perhaps know How to disable Active Noise Canceling ANC system in Honda CRV 2023 is the same on civic 2023, there is no audio setting or PS setting in the settings.
Has anybody noticed the blind spot alert sounds are very quiet? If you have some music playing you can't hear the alerts. It is much louder in Acuras
They had something similar in the developer menu for the 9th gen accord. Too bad it’s still not on by default now
I agree. Makes a nice difference
Good stuff bro. 👍 Do you have to keep doing this every time you cut the car back on?
Thanks man. No. Once you change it it will stay that way unless you enable it again. 👍🏻
Thanks 😊 are there any tips for a 2024 honda trailsport audio to any tips from anyone my audio sounds crappy thanks again
I have a 2023 Civic sport my settings look different on mine most of it is done on the steering wheel how can I do the upgrade with what I have
I might take a look into this but tbh Idk if I will ever play the speakers loud enough to warrant doing this. I usually keep the audio volume at 10 ish, 15 max (15 is usually if I have the windows down)... I'm paranoid about my hearing so I dont like loud music. I've never had any audio sound bad or distorted, maybe it's because I have the touring model so the speakers are better?
It worked!
Nice. It makes a big difference 👍🏻
Bro is him 🤝
I just tried it but haven’t test it out yet I will let yall know once I do😊
Thanx 🙏🏽 2021 sport
👊🏼
From Asia pacific , My Accord doesn’t have Audio Setting on that page… any idea to make it show up ?
Thanks for the amazing tip John. Unfortunately, after entering development diagnosis top menu (@ 1:17), I found all the options except for audio settings. Anyone else faced that ?
I saw that you replied to someone who had the same problem by saying that the solution is written somewhere in the comments. I couldn’t find it /:
Yep, you can tell the difference. On a different topic. I'm on my second Gen 10...had a 2018 on a three yr lease and they called me and paid it off for me after two years if I would come get something else. They needed the used cars. I got a nice Accord Hybrid but on both vehicles the night time contrast on the back up camera is terrible and I've seen other mentions of that. Do you know of any solutions? I switched out the back up lights for led's hoping the additional brightness would help but it didn't. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks man and the Accord hybrid is great. I have noticed that too. It’s pretty grainy. I haven’t seen a way to fix it unfortunately. Maybe someone else has a trick?
I have a Honda civic touring 2019 and I only have a display with a row of buttons on one side .the source button is a button i have to press on the screen. I can only press the home and volume button but it just says reboot. So I didn't do it..
Holy crap, bug big difference! Thank you ! Why don't they have it set there as a default?
I know right? They keep it balanced. It definitely helps our system. 👊🏼
@@HondaJon does this work on the 2021 honda odessy
It should just not positive if the sequence is the same
So you don’t blow your speakers out
Can you tell me why the steering light is on?
Strange after went to the Developer screen,no Audio selection below the Special functions.
Is there a setting in that developer menu to allow any apps to be installed like that "disable Android verification" option in the older Honda Android head units?
There might be but I’m not 100% positive. You’d have to look through the settings and see. I haven’t searched through them all.
I have a 2018 2.0 accord sport but it’s not seeming to pop up but rather shows something different it’s ses in-line dish setting an ses completion how would I get to this setting anyone know please let me know
I have a 2021 base model and this won't work what am I doing wrong
any way to do this with a civic?
Did you change the treble, bass, and mid, to your liking or did you just leave them all the same. I’m trying to figure out what settings would be better for each. Thanks
I did change them. After while
I change them again lol
How to install apps android?
What is the point of the PS button and what does PS stand for?
The Bose systems ones do not need this sounds great as is
I have the 2018 lx can you use the knob as a control
It doesn't work when holding 3 buttons at same time
Does this work on the lx model? It does not have the home or source buttons
does this work in a 2017 honda civic turbo?
I have a 2020 Honda pilot how to do it on that the black edition
How do you do this for a 2023 Honda accord lx
Thank you. I upgraded the entire system---replaced amp, speakers and added a sub. Do you think what you did would make any difference for me?
For sure. It helps
Do u have any pics or info, I didn’t think this would be easy. I have a 21
The video should take you step by step. Is that what you are looking for?
Hello, how you do this on a 2021 CRV EX?
Would love to get insight from a Honda Engineer as to what this really does. Some people were saying it was a soft switch to disable ANC but that theory has been proven wrong. What the hell does "PS Setting" mean!?
Exactly, would love to know what it means.
Maybe Preset Stereo Setting idk though
New to my Honda but in my world at work PS means power saving, could that be it? Mane relates to the radio use when in aux mode?
@@mattmcalester8939 good guess, it's possible it could have something to do with that.
How to do it for honda accord 24 EX?
what about s 2016? any ideas?
Mi friend you chance the speaker too?
Thanks Jon I just changed my front speakers with some Kenwoods. Hopefully this fix will make it better. Also I wonder if this needs to be done everytime an update is performed.
Nice. You’ll definitely hear a difference even more since you replaced the speakers.
Hey man, I changed this on my unit a few months ago and just performed the latest system update this week. It did NOT revert this change.
Nice. Thanks for the update. That’s good to know. It definitely makes a nice improvement over stock. 👍🏻
@@HondaJon do you use rimgard and how are they holding up?
I installed them and used them for a bit. They were great. I donated them to a buddy since I don’t have use for them in my area. I highly recommend them though. The best way to protect your wheels
That's weird, I have 2018 EXL and I don't have this option
Jus got a Honda accord 2020 sport n did this n it improved it hella immediately bro 🙏🏼 thank you tons man ❤️🖤
👊🏼
