- i've seen a lot of videos, fics, etc, where people depict this scenario of f!leo meeting leo from the good timeline and lots of angst ensues which- don't get me wrong I love angst (if you've seen any of my other videos you can probably guess that lol)- but personally, I think that f!leo has matured and grown enough to just. I think he'd be proud of the good timeline version of him. A bit jealous, sure, because of course he'd be a bit bitter that this version of him got to save the world and save his family and do what f!leo couldn't, but he'd be proud of him as well, because he did just that. Present Leo learned something in days that probably took f!Leo a while to come to terms with, and I also think almost all of this is because of Casey. While yes an apocalypse is certainly cause for self-reflection, I also think that being Casey's mentor/sensei/father played a pretty decent role in helping f!Leo to learn and grow, and later helping present Leo in a more direct way. I don't know if my ramble made any sense but oh well- I hope you enjoy the animatic, I really like how it came out. :]
also- this should go without saying but just in case- everything here is strictly /p! there is absolutely nothing romantic about any of this and regarding my tmnt content there never will be. All affection or anything is strictly familial. This isn't angst like my typical animatics so it's more wholesome but I do not want that to be misinterpreted. Please and thank you.

The shot of present leo and casey jr looking at f leo so fondly is what got me. like tears streaming down my face dude. SOMETHING ABT LIKE. THE FONDNESS YOU DREW THEM WITH like as if they still hold f leos memory to a high regard even if leo never actually met him theres still that . respect and admiration for him. theres still that love. this animation is so fucking good oh my gosh

Future Leo got a huge hug from future Donnie. It looked like Donnie ran like a cheetah. ALSO- I felt like crying watching that.
I love this idea. Of future Leo looking at his past self and just. . . . Loving him. Because older Leo, he is right to be angry and hate the current him, but he doesn't. Because as a leader he has had children dance in and out of his life. He sees his teenage mask of over confidence reflected back on so many faces that he loved and lost.
So how can he hate the younger him?

i’ve always thought that if f!leo and leo ever met there wouldn’t be this projected self anger but more of fondness and protectiveness. not wanting his younger self to ever have to feel the pain of losing his brothers, pain of knowing what that guilt feels like, i think he would want to reassure the leo we know as much as he could because he never got that reassurance himself.
(also the frame of casey and leo looking at f!leo actually changed my life and i could write SOO much about how similar they are and how f!leo is such a huge symbol to both of them)

As someone who wrote a similar excerpt about f!Leo for my own ROTTMNT comic, this means so much to me. Truly my personal head canon and I think is so true to the character he becomes by the movie. This brought me to tears and has easily jumped up to one of my favorite f!Leo Animatics, period. Thank you so much for making me feel even more for this character if that's even possible.

THIS IS AMAZING! you are so right, i wish there was a tag for fics where future leo has that negative outlook- i struggle to see it as a match for his character after all his time in the apocalypse. if stopping the apocalypse and 'fixing his mistake' was really all he cared about, he'd have made mikey do the time gateway a long time ago.

I don't usually like to watch animatics not because their bad per say, but it's just a bit hard for me to focus on something that doesn't have a bit of color or something to make it stand out to me I guess, but this was absolutely amazing and the meaning in the song for this was just BEAUTIFUL I hope to see more content like this😁
