    Hi! Thank you for the video!! I'm about to start my Master's in Paris in October, and I'm wondering about how to apply to CROUS. I know you can do it directly through their website, but my university send an email asking us to fill out a form if we were interested in these residences, and they never mention anything about us applying directly to CROUS. Do you know if the university can do the whole process for you? Because I'm starting to think I should start being more active on this matter.
    Thanks in advance!!!

    Hi, this video was really helpful, thank you. I am planning to study in France, Rouen, more precisely:) , Starting from Jan-21. Do you think Joint Tenancy can be better than Crous?

    • @Ariellelaparisienne
      @Ariellelaparisienne  Před 3 lety +3

      The thing with crous is that 1. the cheapest housing you will find 2. they RARELY do not accept international students... this is a big deal because a lot of agencies and private landlords do not want to rent to international students. The crous is just all around an easier and cheaper process which is why I prefer it. But then again, I am living in France long term, and so it was important to me to be able to save a lot of money. If you have the flexibility then maybe joint tenancy can be fun! Just find a landlord that will accept international students :)

For example, I was in a 9m2 room so i definitely wasn't allowed to have like a cat or dog lol but other CROUS are big apartments and i think in those cases you may be allowed. Hey, i got accepted in a 9m2 crous residence but I am worried I will feel drained, I feel like being around students all the time will make me upset hhhh just because I am a student and will be spending 3 days in uni around other students, coming home to my room will have the same environment. Correct me if I am wrong, and if you do not mind, share your thoughts about this subject and tell me how I can have a balanced life between crous, uni and my personal life .... Oh btw how big is the kitchen? do you have to wait to have an oven to cook your food? how much money did you spend on food? and how big is the laundry room? do we have to pay electricity and for wifi? do we have to have house insurance? if you don't mind answering all of these questions, you'll help me be prepared mentally hhhh, cool video btw keep up the good work

    • @Ariellelaparisienne
      @Ariellelaparisienne  Před 3 lety +8

      alrighty, so! first things first, if you want to see the kitchen i recommend you check out this video i made ("come to school with me") because in the intro, i show the CROUS kitchen : czcams.com/video/DBc3gZliUCE/video.html
      NOW to answer your questions:
      - the kitchen is a good size, there are normally 6 chairs, 2 sinks, 1 microwave and 4 stove tops. There is 1 kitchen on each floor so you never have to cook with too many people.
      - the laundry room is big and cheap! there are a lot of students though so i recommend AVOIDING the laundry room on sundays because it gets crowded haha
      - food cost me approx 100 euros a week... this is expensive but when I moved into the CROUS i didnt have any containers so I couldnt store food - i definitely recommend buying some!
      - wifi and electricity are included in the rent :)
      - yes you have to pay for insurance! its not expensive thought, mine was 25 euros for the year!
      Personally, I really loved staying at the CROUS because i saved SO MUCH money!!! its a lot less expensive than renting a room or apartment. I ddint find the balance hard to manage, when you are in the residence you are by yourself and its very quiet. I never had any noise problems like i did when I lived with roommates...
      I hope this helps!!! let me know if there is anything else :D
