- 1st Battalion Scots Guards Afghanistan Medal Parade 09/05/2013.What a fantastic day, the sun was shining as these Brave Men & Women received their Campaign Medal from his Royal Highness the Duke Of Kent. Was so proud of being Scottish but most definitely British " God Bless Her Majesties Forces " & Welcome back 4 Brigade
My Uncle Doug was a Scots Guard. He was captured in Italy in 1943. He escaped several times from camps in Eastern Europe, and gor beaten so badly once his lung was destroyed. He eventually died from the damage to his lung in 1970. He did eventually escape the prisoner camps in 1945, but when he made the USA lines he was nearly shot because the US troops mistook his Highland accent for a German.
Much love.
Who are the two sadsacks who disliked this?
The best special forces in the world are the SAS..Formed by A Scots Guardsman..I rest my case.
Holymoly there are some big units in this battalion. Well done, nice vid.
The first company is right flank all the lads are over 6,2 then left flank over 6 foot with a sprinkling of other big buggers in the other companies except C company which are known as the rabbits, usually 5,10.
First quick march is called 'The Glaswegian' or sometimes called 'Glasgow Fair' I believe. Very nice piece.
No it’s not,it’s Highland laddie..
@Lyxin792 Not sure what the first march is called. It features heavily in Trooping the Colour , usually between the transfer from Slow March Past to the Quick March past.
Magnificent
Respect....
Is this Bourlon Barracks in Catterick? It looks very familiar.
