  • If your considering MadStad's Harley Davidson Pan America Windshield you better watch this installation step-by-step. You also better watch my upcoming ride review.
    This how-to is a visual companion to the manual that gets sent by the factory and contains tips as well as help. Its a bit harder than you think and it requires you to take the whole front of the bike off, including the fairing, and tft display.
    This episode is part of my Protect this House series for Harley Davidson Pan Am.

    That looks like a pretty nice wind screen replacement/upgrade option. I'm sure we're going to start seeing after market options for the Pan AM now.

    I just got my Pan Am yesterday and as a fellow vlogger my wife watched the video and said the same thing about where to shield sits in the line of sight. I had it in the the high position. I saw the MadStad in person at bike week looks like a good system, also like the TFT display relocation kit. Since I just got the bike need to ride it for a bit and figure out what needs to be changed.

    Thanks for the video. Nicely done. The MadStad is similar to the CalSci (without the CalSci hole). It's too much of a 'barn door' in appearance for me, not that the Pan America is a thing of beauty. Tried the CalSci, which did 'work' but was similarly huge (much wider).
    Looking for more stylish offerings from MRA and others.
    Noticed you're in Maryland. Just north of you in Delaware.

      @MCCJustMotos  Před 2 lety

      Haha well I’m an Oriole Fan..(paper bag). I think it’s a a few screws for the factory 18” windshield but that’s it..However, it will not correct the lean back “problem” that factory mechinism has..plus the squiggle line. Thanks for the kind words…BTW I just upgraded to a 20” windshield!

    The problem with the Pan America is there is no cross bar to mount a proper GPS or another electronics like a radar detector. We are stuck with little real-estate on the bars.
    I'd like to see some mount options before I purchase something like this . Also the Harley Navi is a joke.

    Any advice on putting the cowling back. I ran out of daylight and can’t see if the top plugs are aligned. Also a bit nervous to smack it back in not knowing if the top is aligned.

    • @MCCJustMotos
      @MCCJustMotos  Před 2 lety

      Hmm..just align the plugs in the holes. Use your fingers to guide a bottom plug/pin into one of the holes and then so the other side and then the tops!

      Your totally right! Good catch As soon as I took those 4 bolts out including that bent L piece the plastic part just could slip off. I did that and filmed but somehow it did not make it in. Thanks again for the catch!

      @@MCCJustMotos just installed it along with the Mike Estes metal adaptor for the Garmin GPS. Only issue I had was putting the HD TFT screen back in the new housing and made it simpler after I very slightly drilled out the side holes so the 2 long screws could easily pop through and I found it much easier to put the screws in first and then from the inside added each of the rubber compression grommets and threaded them on, then tightened with a Phillips. Again all much easier thanks to your video.
      Also of note, the only parts re-used were the side deflectors and corresponding 4 screws as well as the last 4 screws that mount the bottom of the Madstad housing to the bike.
