    0:00 Introduction
    1. 0:09 If aliens do exist, how would that affect the faith of Christians? Would aliens disprove Christianity?
    2. 16:19 Regarding 1 Corinthians 7: 14 where it speaks of sanctification for the unbeliever if married to a believer, I have found it hard to understand that passage and was wondering if you could help me.
    3. 20:11 Have you heard of the Documentary Hypothesis, and if so, can you tell me your thoughts about it?
    4. 22:00 I believe in Christianity, but I have major doubts about Heaven & a fear of death. Can I know for sure while here on earth that it's true?
    5. 27:00 How is Hebrews 13:2 to be interpreted? Have some people literally entertained angels without being aware? Do angels actually interact with creation in a tangible sense?
    6. 30:39 I often hear Christians say that when we face big struggles it's because good things are coming. Is there any Biblical truth to this, or is this just a different version of the prosperity gospel?
    7. 32:04 Is “revival” biblical?
    8. 33:42 Why does Isaiah 9:6 call Jesus the “everlasting Father”? Oneness Pentecostals keep using this verse against me and I haven’t seen a good response. I don’t want to twist the Bible.
    9. 34:56 I have such a sensitive conscience that I feel it’s a burden sometimes. People can’t even remember what I’m apologizing for! How can I change this? Not to be free to sin, but to live.
    10. 37:36 Are women allowed to speak at all during Bible study? Such as read the Bible, pray the opening/closing prayer, or give commentary, and just not teach? Or do we have to be completely silent the entire time?
    11. 38:07 What are your thoughts on Judges 11 and why Jephthah made his vow and followed through with it, even after God's Spirit was on him?
    12. 43:35 Why don’t we celebrate Jewish holidays? God says in the OT to observe them forever. During the 1,000 year reign with Christ, we all observe them. Why don’t grafted-in Christians observe them now?
    13. 46:00 I am trying to disciple my dad and he says he believes in Christ, yet wants nothing to do with Him. What do I do?
    14. 47:53 How would you recommend determining credible commentaries, studies, & pastors? I am a new Christian & have concern about being inadvertently led astray by unbiblical interpretations & viewpoints.
    15. 49:20 Mike describes himself as “charismatic” a lot. I’m just wondering if he can clarify what he means by that. Does he or his church practice the “gifts of the Spirit,” like tongues, prophecy, etc.?
    16. 54:00 How can you know for sure that a loved one went to heaven?
    17. 54:44 I have heard the range for Jesus' death to be between 26-36 (A.D.) with 30 and 33 being the most agreed upon contenders for Jesus’ death. Can we know for certain the exact year He died?
    18. 55:58 If God said He would rid all creatures with a flood, what happened to the fish? And if they died, how did they multiply, because fish can’t be on an ark?
    19. 56:29 Are "white lies" ok, to spare your spouse’s feelings? For example, when they ask what someone said and you say "I'm not really sure," but you do remember.
    20. 59:09 How much freedom do we have in the marriage bed? Are some sexual acts prohibited even for married couples?

Aliens? I've heard a general view on the possibilities of Satan (and his demons) being able to disguise themselves as angels of light. How much more easier would it be to disguise themselves as aliens? They are spiritual beings but are able to do some crazy stuff that we humans can't, like possess other people and animals and control nature (think Job) and have a first hand knowledge of the past and even are able to be with you right now as you sit there in order to grab intel since they are spiritual being. Yes our God is far greater but you should be aware of this. I personally doubt that there is other legitimate life out there, but as mentioned a demon could pass off as such. Christ dying once and for all for us and then dying once and for all on another few planets seems messed up.

True, but there is legitimate debate on the dating methods of fossils. Did you know they’ve recently discovered accidentally DNA, tissue, blood in dinosaur fossil? (In particular a tooth of a T-Rex)
They can’t explain this at all because it should be impossible. Tissue, blood, DNA cannot exist for the amount of time that the fossils are dated for. They decay way too quickly. It’d still decay before the dates attributed to these fossils even if the fossils had been frozen solid in winter conditions all those years.
But, those fossils weren’t frozen, they were unearthed in hot climates.
I recommend looking at creation ministries international website for information on this type of thing.
Basically, it’s still possible for the fundamental/traditional interpretation of the Bible to be correct.
Aliens is speculated by some that it might be deceptions by fallen angels. Some Christians have interviewed people who claim to have encountered aliens or had been abducted and they found every description was a negative experience and also very disturbing to all who experienced it. But, one thing really interesting they found was in some experiences the person believed in Jesus and the only people who successfully avoided them. In these interviews these people said they cried out the name of Jesus and immediately the aliens left.
So yeah, if you ever encounter an alien call out for Jesus is my recommendation.

I agree with your assessment of lying to an Alzheimer patient. Imagine what it would be like if the person forgot every single day that their spouse had died. They ask where he is and when you tell them he died they grieve like it's a new and recent loss. Repeat this scenario every single day. Now let's say you respond with "I think he's at work." Or something like that. They'll ask again the next day but they aren't grieving through intense loss on a daily basis. I think to tell them the truth would be extremely unkind.

Question 15 where you talk about tongues was very helpful. I received tongues nearly 47 years ago, but encountered teaching about how you've got to speak in tongues at least an hour a day if you want to see the Holy Spirit move in power in your life. That just put me under a heavy burden, and I was too weak-willed to even try. My son was saved in his early teens but fell away after several years. He's now in his forties, and I lately found out that his youth group was pressuring him to speak in tongues and he just wouldn't fake it, so abandoned Christianity altogether. Thank you for pointing out that some of this tongues teaching is very abusive.

Isn’t the qualifier there important? “In the world”. What world do you think of? Isn’t this a reference to life on earth? I’m not saying God’s love isn’t preached anywhere intelligent life is in existence. Rather that there may be a different way of saying He loves them. If I show my son I love him, he can feel it; however the actions I do with my son do not transfer automatically to my daughter. Though I love her just as much and she needs my actions of love (different, yet from my same will, purpose and heart).

Narnia is more analogy/parabolic to help kids understand Christ; Space Trilogy is for older teens and adults and really broadened my mind to Christ being the same while still having possibilities of life on other planets. I expect Lewis explanation would be similar to yours theologically.

As for alien life in space, C.S. Lewis deals with this wonderfully in the first two books of his Space Trilogy (actually a terrible name to call it considering Lewis's ideas on cosmology, but he didn't call it that, publishers do). Out of the Silent Planet, and Perelandra, are the first two novels. The third is That Hideous Strength.
In the first novel there is a fallen world (Malacandra) but it's Oyarsa (sort of an overseeing angel) did not fall, as Satan did. So the world there is mostly peaceful and is follows the Oyarsa's directives from God, though there is still death there. But things like death are seen rightly, from God's perspective, not from a fallen one. (It's complicated to explain here).
The second world, Perelandra, is unfallen and has just two inhabitants, it's version of an Adam and Eve. Satan tempts the Eve of this world, and a human named Ransom (the main character) tries to fend off his temptations, though this proves difficult in the extreme. At the end of Perelanda, the Eve tells Ransom that if that world had also fallen, then Christ would not have come to die there as He did on Earth, but a higher/deeper means would have been necessary, because He does not do the same thing twice, but always better, (or something like that). So Lewis seems to agree with your reading of Romans that there would be no second crucifixion. A great trilogy to read, I highly recommend it. Lewis and Tolkienn (great friends in real life) challenged each other to write a Sci-Fi story, but only Lewis was able to complete his before his death.

I particularly love the "Blessed Be He" passage from Perelandra. It has such a beautiful picture of our place in the universe.

Sadly, my family is in that circle of hyper-charismatic/WoF who think if you don't speak in tongues, you don't have the Holy Spirit and so you can't have a true understanding of scripture. I used to have a fake gift of tongues, but since the Lord woke me up and led me out of that whole mess I went through a journey to cessationism and then back to continuationism, but not what I would call charismatic. So often it feels like an utter waste of breath when I try to talk to my family about the truth of scripture because they've determined I'm no longer spirit-filled and therefore I don't have the truth. It's sad and frustrating.

I'm in a similar situation, but usually call myself a Pentecostal. I typically define Charismatic as people who are more concerned with the Experience. The biggest issue I have with Pentecostal denominations like the AoG is that the Gifts are not contingent upon a person speaking in Toungs first, which they teach. I also disagree with both types of denominations in that I don't think it's Biblical to teach that a person can control the Gifts. We don't "own" them, and the only choice we have is to be open to God or not.

I've put a lot of study into the gifts, and where I've landed is that it's God who controls them, and He distributes them when, where, and to whom He pleases, to accomplish His purposes. I don't believe that God is a cessationist, but there's so much misunderstanding, misapplication and outright abuse of the gifts in charismatic circles that I really hesitate to identify as a charismatic (and the church I attend is hardline cessationist. I pray for them to be more open to spiritual gifts). Bottom line is, God is God and He can do what He wants.

She asked me to speak in tongues for her so she could hear it, lol! I do pray in tongues quite often, (in my private prayer time) but I don't think it should be a performance thing. (Though it could be done in church if there's an interpretation. I go to a Baptist church right now, where it might not be the best idea.) I even knew that 50 years ago when my friend asked me that question. I'm very bothered about the hyper-charismatic movement, though I somehow didn't question it too much for years. When I watch them now, laying hands on someone who then flops around on the floor, all I can think is, that looks more like someone who is experiencing demonic possession, not infilling of the Holy Spirit. Something which Paul taught should be done in an orderly manner in the church has become a show.

On the issue of speaking in tongues: back when I was in high school I was preparing to go on a mission trip to Romania, and the group I was going with as well as myself, we attended this service somewhere which I don't recall. The church decided to pay over us, which was normal, but some of the people praying were "speaking in tongues." Well, I didn't understand any of what was being said, no interpreting whatsoever was given, and more than just feeling awkward about it, it felt wrong to me. I've heard people do this before, so it's not like I didn't know what was going on. Anyway, I prayed for protection because of how wrong it felt, I wanted nothing to do with it in that instance. Health wise, getting the finances together, and getting everything else necessary for the trip, I had no problems, I almost didn't have to put forth any effort. I had to do things like physically go out and get my passport photo taken, and the forms filled out, but there were no issues that needed correcting in the process. Everyone else going was having problems getting funding, or they were dealing with illnesses, or other problems. I don't know if the tongues thing had anything to do with it. I feel it very well could have, as we have no idea what was being said, or where the words being spoken were coming from. It could be that I didn't have problems because of how much I trusted in God to get to Romania, and I'm certain that's at least part of it. I can name other examples of when I just knew it was time for me to do something and nothing went wrong, and it happened just when it needed to happen. At any rate, I offer this post just to say that we should be respectful of spiritual gifts, we shouldn't, as Mike points out, abuse them or use them abusively. I'm thankful that he says as much. That's not how God works, that's not how our faith works. That said, I, like Mike, also believe that the gifts are still active, so I'm not saying speaking in tongues can't happen, just that I don't think it really happens as often as many charismatics believe it does.

I've never heard a satisfying answer to the Isaiah 9 question either. My own thinking, which isn't wholly satisfactory, but it's the best I've got, is that the Father and the Son are one. That is to say, the Father is in the Son, and the Son is in the Father, and to see the Son is to see the Father because He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature; and in Him, all the fullness of the Godhead dwells in bodily form.
The Trinity is not three separate Gods, but One God revealed in three Persons, and I think sometimes we separate them too much in our minds. Scripture says that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself.

I absolutely dig the aliens topic. When I was younger I was given some teachings (based on these exact same verses) that were presented as concrete end-all-be-all evidence against the possibility of alien life. Me being a huge engineering/science/scifi/space nerd who knows how big the universe truly is, that stumped and frustrated me for a long time.
As I got older my own personal passions led me toward writing science fiction, and since I wanted aliens in it, I always did it under the understanding that it was non-biblical or faux-biblical at best. Now that I'm much MUCH older, I think I'm starting to understand the purpose and limited scope of the Bible (as a model for life not as a scientific textbook) so I know longer consider it a closed case, and am fully prepared, even hopeful, for the possibility of alien life. But the serious questions about how sin and Christ interact with humanity (if humanity suddenly becomes a less-than-100% cross section of what we consider 'people') will always remain. And I think until we actually meet aliens, and exchange stories with them about the nature of own relationships (or lack thereof) with God, I don't think the questions will ever disappear in any way. Having conversations like these are a awesome way to start.
But the good news is that such questions are perfectly irrelevant until such day as we meet aliens, so there's no reason to lose sleep over it. :)

Just a thought, and I realize 'going to the store' was just an example. With the Alzheimer patient, maybe. " let's get a pen and paper and make a shopping list" would work, or "which is your favorite store?"
Sometimes asking what they like about whatever it is can divert.

The idea of one third of the angels falling from heaven is found in Revelation 12:4: "His tail swept down a third of the stars of heaven and cast them to the earth." This passage is often interpreted to mean Satan and a third of angels were removed from heaven to earth. Interpreters differ whether this refers to a past event (referring to Satan's original rebellion against God), a future time during the tribulation period when Satan and his angels will be sent to operate on earth, or involves aspects of both (one third fell in the past, yet will not be not sent to operate on earth as Revelation 12 states until the future).
It is clear angels have existed since the beginning of creation (Job 38:7). Sometime prior to Genesis 3, Satan (then a leading angel) rebelled against God and was judged (Ezekiel 28; Isaiah 14). It is believed many other angels rebelled with him during this time, becoming the fallen angels or demons mentioned throughout the Bible.
A close look at Revelation 12 does clarify some aspects. It is clear one third of the angels are fallen or have become demons. Since the number of angels is "innumerable" (Hebrews 12:22), one third includes a vast number of demons who have rebelled against God. In Mark 5 Jesus met a man possessed by so many demons that they called themselves "Legion." Jesus allowed the demons to enter pigs when they left the man; the herd of about 2,000 pigs rushed off the steep bank and drowned in the sea (Mark 5:9-13). Mary Magdalene was freed from seven spirits (Luke 8:2). Jesus also mentioned another account of seven spirits together at one time (Matthew 12:45; Luke 11:26).
Ephesians 6:12 acknowledges these demonic powers and the difficulties they can present: "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places." Believers are called to "wear" the full armor of God to protect against these forces of evil.
Though powerful, believers need not fear these many demons. As Peter notes, "For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to chains of gloomy darkness to be kept until the judgment" (2 Peter 2:4). This verse, part of a larger argument about God's ability to rescue, shows that every fallen angel will one day be judged along with Satan. Their power and time are limited

@Blaise Now look, I can see that you don't believe that. I am not going to set here and try to convince you different. The Bible does not specifically call them aliens. You have to remember when the Bible Scriptures were written. If there were real aliens they would not have been hiding for thousands of years. Some are free to roam in this universe and do things that look wonderous to us. You wish to call them ET's because you are stuck on science fiction books, tv and movies.

A dutch pastor I know thinks that UFO's might mislead a lot of people, because apparently a lot of people who are into the occult have seen UFO's. So, seeing these flying objects probably have something to do with the occult. He wrote about this in a christian magazine about escatology. I thought it was very interesting.

Not that anyone asked for it, but I felt compelled to add to Mike's answer concerning question 19.
I found this to be a hard subject to breach, especially when I got married. My wife would ask if I liked a particular outfit she was wearing. I didn't want to lie, but I didn't want to tell her the truth either. This, however, was a situation for us both to grow. I had to learn to tell her the truth in love, softening the possible insult, and she had to learn that just because I didn't like her outfit did not mean I didn't find *her* beautiful.
Second, consider in other circumstances, to tell the honest truth about how you *feel* considering the answer, and not the answer itself. So rather than a white lie, saying, "I dont want to tell you what I think/feel because it would be damaging" or, in reference to the example question ("do you know what they said") you say, "yes, but it won't be helpful so I don't want to tell you".
Obviously, there is a LOT of wiggle room in every scenario we run into, but remember that you don't have to answer the question asked with the blunt truth, but rather answer ABOUT the truth.

Hey Mike, just wanted thank you for your faithfulness to the scripture and also throw out a possible recommendation for Revelation (maybe?). Michael Heiser is going through Revelation on his podcast right now, and he might be a great guy to call with respect to the Old Testament in Revelation (and any possible errors towards that in TPT) if you're looking for that angle. Anyway, God bless you and your ministry!
Edit: I'm seeing him now that I've looked at the comments... Aliens, duh. Still, he could be worth pinging about Revelation in TPT if he has the time.

I actually asked him to be part of the project a while back. I was hoping he would do Genesis. He told me that he was very interested in it and he wanted to be part of it but that he just didn’t have the time. Which is understandable, it seems like he’s very busy.

Do they bear the imago dei?

The first thought that comes to mind for me is no one has seen an alien lifeform. Its only been encounters with flying objects in sky not, lifeforms. So there is very possibilities that government or demonic beings are involved in it because they can theoretically do the same thing.

I also feel is abusive to ask how much one reads the Bible and how often you pray. The last church I was a member at went as far us asking for a yearly spiritual health assessment with a church leader. In left because I felt like I was being judged all the time.

Sounds like love to me, reproving exhorting correcting, teaching, with long suffering seems like the biblical thing to do. Build more discernment.
      David said in Psalm 141:
“Let the righteous smite me; it shall be a kindness: and let him reprove me; it shall be an excellent oil, which shall not break my head: for yet my prayer also shall be in their calamities.”

To read the bible and to pray at all times, or when you can, should be a joy to all of us, to do it for ourselves and to others. To pray is to have a relationship with Father, our God YHWH.

with intelligence life while there is nothing stopping God from creating other intelligent and more importantly moral beings it does raise some interesting questions like did the fall of men affect them? If they did fall why? Does the sacrifice of Christ also cover them?
