Finally!!! I've had AirFly pro for a few years now and worked perfect on a few trips and then nothing. I figured it broke down and...so be it. But it worked on my stereo at home. I bought an AirFly Pro a year ago as I wanted to use it for pairing to 2 x devices and I could never get it to work… I tried so many times with no success & did so much research and found nothing that helped. I pulled it out of a draw last night as we’re going camping and wanted to try again. Looked online and found your video, followed your very clear steps & it worked! I can’t believe it!! Thanks so much. Up until now I thought that what I had bought was just a waste of money. Bought this device because my new gen AirPods would no longer pair with my other transmitter. Either mine wouldn’t pair or if they did then a second pair would not! Drove me crazy and thought the device didn’t work until I found your video. Thanks!!

Thanks for the sharing! I am thinking about plug the Airfly Pro to my overhead projector, and wanna ask about the following:
1. Does it keep functioning when charging power?
2. With tx mode, is there time lag between image (from projector) and sound (in Bluetooth headphones)?
3. If my Bluetooth earphone is connected to other devices, how to switch the connection to Airfly? Do I have to press buttons on Airfly to do that every time?
4.If two pairs of earphones are connected to one Airfly pro, can the sound volume of each pair of earphone can be adjusted separately?
5.If the Airfly pro has already paired with two headphones, and I want to pair another one (to replace an existing one), how to do that? And which one of the two is to be replaced?

Hi there! Thanks for the comment. If I'm honest, I can only answer your first question. Yes, it works while charging. You have a very interesting use case where I don't have any experience. And at the moment, I don't have time to test anything because I'm busy finishing my masters thesis. Might I suggest you contact twelve south directly? Here is their email support@twelvesouth.com

I didn't have to disconnect my AirPod Pros, but pushing the button on the front of the AirFly didn't work to pair. I had to press the tiny white button on the side, and my AirPod Pros paired in 2 seconds. Hope this is helpful!

Great simple video! Does this airfly pro work with airpods pro gen 2? I read on Twelve South and Apple Store websites that it does but I saw many users on Mac forums, flyertalk and reddit saying that it connects fine but doesn't produce any sounds on the airpods pro 2. I'm asking because I own airpods pro gen 2 and thinking of buying this for travel use.
Works for me. Just tested them with an old iPod! 😊

I don‘t see a reason why they shouldn’t work.

Don’t just believe one person.
AirFly is specifically marketed for apple products so it will work with all AirPods.
Since AirFly works with my Sony headphones, it should also work with your XM4‘s. It‘s just Bluetooth…

I am planning to purchase the AirFly soon, but I am not so sure if it would be a good investment. I have a JBL headset that works with bluetooth. The headset connect just fine to my iPhone and tablet. I would like to know if there is a specific module that you would recommend for AirFly that would match my headset, and if they would be connecting at all.

I see no reason why your JBL Headset shouldn’t work with the AirFly. Bluetooth is more or less Bluetooth and it’s actually simpler connecting non Apple devices to the Airfly. So you should be good to go and I’m sure you’ll be happy with AirFly.
I try hundred times to connect my AirPods Pro to the air fly pro without success, so I tried what you suggested and it worked. Thanks!
So now that I have removed my AirPods Pro from my iCloud account, and all my Apple devices, does that mean that I can’t ever use them with my Apple devices from now on?

Have you tried reconnecting your AirPods to your apple devices?
Theoretically the Airpods should connect to your iPhone and your AirFly. Depending on what device is turned on / has bluetooth on.
I guess it‘s most important to connect the AirFly first, and the Apple devices later.

Hello. For airpods when we say forget device.. will it work automaticly ? i m not sure how will it be while or after charging. i had to pair again and again...
When you first „forget“ your Airpods from you iPhone. Turn off Bluetooth on your apple devices. Pair the AirPods to the Airfly. After that, turn off AirFly, turn on Bluetooth on your iPhone and pair there.
Now your AirPods „knows“ both devices.
Your AirPods will always prefer the apple devices. If you want to connect to the AirFly, you need to turn off Bluetooth on your Apple devices.

That s why i m suprised. pairing works.. even closing airfly and opening back airfly. they pair automaticly.. but when this airpod pro max is charging or after full charge i got this pairing issue.

Yes, it works with all AirPods generations.
is there a good way to to flip back and forth with the airpods betwen the air fly and your apple device?
I haven‘t played around with it too much. The information I got from Twelve South is, if your AirPods are first connected to the AirFly, and then added to your iphone/icloud after that, that both connections should be held and can switch between them. I think in order for your Airpods to connect to the airfly again, it would help to turn off bluetooth on your apple devices, that way, the airpods can only find the airfly and will connect to it. Hope it works, let me know what your experiences are!

Where do you show generic earbuds without pairing button on them
The Sony Headphones in the beginning are the „generic“ headphones.
If your earbuds don’t have a pairing button then check your device’s manual how to enable pairing mode. That’s all you need.
Can i track it if is lose?
No you can’t unless you fasten an AirTag to it somehow.
how much latency does this device have? is it still good for watching movie?
All I do is watch movies with the AirFly Pro on airplanes and I’ve never had latency issues!
Oh that’s why I only get sound in one side.

The technique should remain the same. If you‘ve had your Sony Earbuds previously connected to a phone or a tablet, turn OFF Bluetooth on that device (just in case).
Then put both your Sony Earbuds and the AirFly in pairing mode and they should connect.

IMPORTANT This product AirFly Pro does not work with all headsets (H95 for example). Do not buy it
A, I mention that it works with MOST bluetooth headphones. B, just because you seem to own the very rare product that doesn‘t work with AirFly doesn‘t mean that you can write this product off and can‘t recommend it. Maybe there is an issue with your headset or the Airfly? Have you tried other headphones? Have you contacted TwelveSouth about getting a replacement? Over 100k people have watched this video and found it helpful since AirFly does work with their headphones.

I have tried it with 3 different headsets and it worked with none of them. No, there is nothing wrong with them. They are brand new headsets.
Yes, I have emailed the manufacturer many times. They did not admit the problem in the beginning however now they confirmed that there is an issue with AirFly Pro. They will amend the web-site shortly. 100k just watched your video, it does not mean that they tried this product. I tried several AirFly devices and yeah they work with my AirPods but I do not want to use AirPods on the plane. I want to use a more quality headset. And this is where this product completely fails

Today I have tried Avantree Wireless Audio Transmitter and it works. Looke like there is problem with AirFly and some codecs.
This product doesn’t work as claimed its lagging at high rate which makes it unusable at all don’t waist your time and money
I can‘t agree with that. It works fine for me, no noticable lag/out of sync with video in the IFE.
Have you tried contacting twelvesouth about the issue?

The troubleshooting worked for my AirPods Pro! But the problem now is that I can’t switch back and forth between my phone and the airfly without going through the whole process 🥲 Do you have to start all over every time you want to switch what the AirPods are paired to?
