In another video regarding the Magic Doc, it was recommended to use the stall next to a handicap spot when available so you can slightly crowd into it without taking two spots.

When did you shoot this video? Tesla upped the amps to 500 from 350 on superchargers with magic docks a couple of weeks ago and I've seen Rivians charging at over 200kw at superchargers with magic docks the last week or so.
Might be a strategic rerelease of a video to capture the hype of the release of the adapters for Ford

I think for non Tesla you should start at the far right supercharger and pull into the right side that way you are not taking up two spots.
there's a new update to the magic dock superchargers where instead of pushing it in to release, you just press the button for 2 seconds
when you first setup the rivian app profile, you put in your CC for the rivian chargers. You can go into the app and change it.

How do you know which locations have the magicdock?
A BMW i3 owner had problems with a magic doc in Scotts Valley, CA when he tried to disconnect. The Tesla app did not work to disengage from the BMW. It set a fault code when he mechanically disconnected. He speculated that he need to use the car app instead to stop charging. How did you stop charging with the BMW i4 and the Magic Doc?
You charged both vehicles using the neighboring stall's charger. I would like to see if you could charge wo taking up two stalls.

Curious how long do you have to precondition your Tesla to get an effective/fast charge ? I found that preconditioning it for less than 10 min doesn’t do much but the longer I have it conditioned it’s faster.
It really depends on how hot or cold it is outside. battery needs to be between 100-120 to meet max speed from what I can see

Only problem with this is when a non Tesla is charging it will essentially use 2 stalls due to the charge port location. Explained: front left charging port will be using the stall to the left. When a Tesla backs in to the same stall it would be using the charger on the right… hard to explain but this will be a problem. Looking forward to the rage compilations!

Yea to use the Tesla network you need the Tesla app.
Cable length for Tesla charging station is also a way to reduce maintenance. Longer cables fail due ti abuse on the ground. Tesla thinks of everything.
it actually says on your screen - Availability Unknown. This is a topic I am interested in with non Teslas charging. Does it show charger availability in these other vehicles like Ford/Rivian/GM/etc... and does Tesla availability also update to Tesla owners when non Teslas are charging at a station.

They just opened up to Ford today with adapter and it's plug and charge. Mach-E and F-150 lightning owners can order a free adapter now for use at non-magic dock stations.

10:23 For most of my charges, it takes me 30 times less time to charge my Tesla model 3 than to fill the tank of my previous (ICE) car. Just the time to plug at home, so about 4 seconds. And I am not even taking into account the time to go to a gas station, assuming it would be on my road. If fact even for most road trips, it takes me 4 seconds to charge since most of the time the car is ready to continue before me.

Still blocking a charger though. If a Tesla pulls in on the BMW passenger side it won’t be possible for them to charge. And a Tesla can’t back in and use a charger. If they try to back in they’ll stick out halfway.

@@Gjeebs I'll take all the backups I can get. Tesla's great with their Superchargers, but they're not perfect. I was in a remote part of Colorado, and the one SC in the area went down, and fortunately there was a Chargepoint backup.

It’s amazing to me how big of an issue plug and charge is to people. We never had plug and fuel in gas powered vehicles.

Car companies never owned gas stations? It could be readily done with an RFID tag on the car and RFID readers like they have on toll booths for toll roads and bridges.
56kW charging for that level of battery on the i4 is pretty awful
