This has given me an idea to macerate strawberries in sugar in this fashion, then mix the result with cream and let it sit for a while, strain out the strawberries and puree them, and mix them back in before whipping the cream. I think it'll make a really nice topping for ice cream, or frosting for a strawberry cake. Edit: Plus, it'll have a really cute pink color, that's important too.

@@no.1fan156 I get the difference of the monetary value within each , (n=salary/expenditure) . Philippines and pretty much the entire Southeast Asia doesn't mass produce strawberry, so you have to import it from other countries to fulfill the demand, like China and US. That is the reason why it's rather 'expensive' in Philippines. The price of each is higher there than in the US due to import tariffs. And with Philippines market as the base, you pay *a lot* more (since your salaries are comparatively less from the US), but due to the scarcity of the product in the region, you get less for a normal portion in those who produce them in mass, like US, or Korea. E.g you'd pay $2.00/lb in Philippines, and $1.60/lb in US. And yes, the system of "you pay less, you get less" still works here, if you don't compare it to those who mass-produced the goods.

@Thorin Oakenshield Strawberries are expensive in Sri Lanka cuz there’re only a limited region in hill country where we can grow it.n rest is imported. It may be the same price as your country and u don’t think its expensive cuz u are well off financially. That’s not the case for lot of Sri Lankan’s due to low wage, high inflation and the ridiculous currency conversion rates. As a Sri Lankan I can attest to how hard it is to convince my parents to buy a pack of strawberries.they def aren’t regular fruits for us

It is strawberry, milk and sugar...not exactly rocket science, it would take only a few mins to make in your own kitchen.

If the strawberries are being shipped across states then they are picked early so they are almost ripe by the time they arrive. If they are picked and used locally they are ripe for ready use. Same reason why you go to the store and the avacados or bananas are super hard or green.

Idk I'm just saying I saw a few foods like this from China..they looked perfect but when showed how they prepared the perfect looking food it was like throw this little thing in some water add a few drops of food coloring I'm guessing and boom! A whole head of lettuce appeared and they cut it and showed the rest of the ingredients in the end a perfect salad was indeed presented. But the process just made me think like wow 🙀🙀
