"you find yourself stuck in a dungeon" is something that 100% would happen to the chaotic mess my character is 😂 Boi gets in trouble ALL the time; I'm already excited
i've been watching the wrong side of booktube this whole time! finally found the right one)
I have two characters a set of twins (Aquaella and Cassiella) and it's very clear to me that Aquaella most likely refused to serve a rather strange little man in the Tavern that the twins own and of course this strange little man turned out to be a powerful Wizard of some form known where he comes from to be obnoxious and rude and just expecting to get his own way all the time and therefore teleported both the twins into his dungeons. Which caused a bit of a rift between the twins as Cassiella felt that her sister was to blame, but will that cause them to take a totally different path home?
While reading a book in the library, Fara finds an old, folded sheet of paper. Sensing an adventure, she and her familiar, a desert mouse named Tail-Twitch set off with her bag and the map in hand. Down, down, down they go into the depths of the school until the map leads them to a door with no hinges, no lock and on its surface are glowing glyphs. "It's a puzzle," Fara exclaims after studying the door for a moment. "Are you sure you brought enough snacks", Tail-Twitch asks with concern. "Plenty", Fara reassures him. She completes the puzzle and the door opens. Lighting a lamp, Fara steps into the darkness beyond, but before she can see what the room has to offer the door slams shut behind her. Nothing she does will open it back up again. "It looks like the only way out, is forward", Fara tell Tail-Twitch. Holding the lamp high, she sees an archway on the opposite wall and more darkness beyond...

So yeah story time for my character "Tsula". (Soot, my scholarly impling, and snarl, my owl cat, took after each other in an unexplored area in the forests of Irtheria after Snarl took off with Soot's favorite quill pen. Chasing after them, I stumbled into an unexplored and uncharted ruin and followed them into an ancient tomb. Yeah, this is not ideal. The guardian spirit didn't see Soot and Snarl as threats to whatever secrets the tomb held and didn't pay them any mind when they crossed the threshold and alerted the guardians. Me on the other hand, they saw me as an unknown and a possible threat. This is how I now find myself in a dark dungeon only lit by soul light. I tried diplomacy but, I guess that it doesn't work to be diplomatic with spirit guardians. I looked to Agigage, my fox familiar, for advice as he was trying to corral Soot and Snarl, luckily he wasn't caught in the same trap as I. He shrugged at me and curled up for a nap. He had no insight to give and told me to figure it out since he was tired from the 2 'annoyances' as he 'lovingly' calls Soot and Snarl.)
So glad to be adventuring with you and everyone in the Crescent Order again.

My character Deljah I expect wound up in the dungeon because her first year cooped up studying to become a Scribe got her antsy to move and be outdoors. She dreams of uncovering ancient findings in lost ruins, so she probably got it in her head to get started on some impulsive, unauthorized urban spelunking. And promptly got arrested for trespassing. 😆
So happy it's back !! My plan is to do it in time this year

Since this is a year-long readathon to escape a dungeon, I decided it makes sense if the dungeon is a continuing dream that my character has every few weeks.

Ugh, gosh I forgot about this challenge entirely last year. I started it and then began a really intense online course for 6 months that just made the memory of this pop out of existence. I wonder if I can retroactively have made it work 🤔 anyway, I am definitely doing this one and I won’t forget since I don’t have a class anymore! I’m excited!

I'm excited to participate this year. I'm already behind but i can catch up.
We find maraid and turlough in the market. Turlough Ambles behind maraid twisting a string tied round his finger put their as a reminder of something he mustn't forget. As they walk turlough is distracted by all the activity around him and the string slips off his finger. He searches frantically for it. maraid is busy searching a stall and takes no notice until she hears him shout from a distance "come back here you fiend!" She looks up just in time to see his mossy wild green hair rushing down an alley. She takes off after him. She finds him diving headlong after a mouse that has scurried into what appears to be a low window in the side of an old stone tower. Mairaid lunges for his ankle but fails to prevent his descent and finds herself falling through the window with him. Mairaid lands upon him. Turlough let's out an " oof" . "Are you alright?" She asks. " " oh yeah " he says smiling, " my head broke my fall so no harm done." Maraids mouth ticks up at the corners than she turns away and glances around realizing that they are in an old dungeon. Turlough meanwhile has spotted the mouse and is off. "Wait!" maraid calls after him, "we should think about this before we choose". As he runs he yells to her , "i feel just like alice following the rabbit!" Curiously enough i do too she thinks as she chases after him.

My character is definitely gonna get accidentally engaged (????) to a terrifying fae creature. She's a little obsessed with the faewild so she's gonna be happier about it than she should be lol

Thanks for this, G! I just discovered your channel because I was looking into making a reading journal and found your awesome Cawpile spreadsheet. Now I'm glad it's not too late for newbies to join your magical reading challenges! I already watched the sorting video and found my guild -- Mind Walkers. Here's a question: I like the shadow dagger here but chose a dagger for my conduit. I don't want to carry around two daggers. Although it wasn't listed in your other video on the whiteboard, could I use a necklace/amulet as a conduit? I like to keep my hands free. 😄 Cheers!

i'm doing this from the perspective of my dnd character as i've never done orilium. helja is in the dungeon because she went to have a strong word with cthulu (again) and succeeded in finding him this time. the last time his office was empty. cthulu didn't want to hear helja yelling at him about the insurance scam he did on her grandfather so got her thrown in a dungeon to shut her up. he probably couldn't remember the specific scam but he gets enough complaints to be completely fed up with them
the other option is helja joined babushka julia to aid in the french revolution and they ended up getting caught, so thrown in the dungeon by the french. i think the first option is more likely though
This is going to be my first time actually doing the Year in Aeldia in addition to the readathons. This should be fun! Very doable with one book per month.

I think I'll read The Odyssey by Homer for the epic/high fantasy book. It's got heroes, monsters, traveling, and political intrigue, so it fits. (I don't own any epic/high fantasy books anymore.)
I completed 2023 and have an owlcat I named Fox…..My spirit fox Loki are as thick as thieves my imp Eve has nicknamed them mischief and mayhem.
I’m going to use Wit and strength but we are starting with Wit and Aqua Crow has gathered her splinters and is returning to Orilium this year.
She had been splintered way to long
So Griff just vanished from the cell as if he were never there in his place was a dragon fae and a note for the guards that were assigned to watch over the prisoners.
The guards were knocked out by spirits controlling the Spirits were Aqua Crow the Spirit Elemental
She got into the dungeons by using her portal
Using her shadows she released all the prisoners and allowed them to run a muck. In each cell was a dragon fae.
Let the adventure begin

Im brand new to this. Where should I start? Should I go back and do previous years first? I do not have a character or done any of the schooling yet. The schooling and classes portion is the part I am most excited about but this year only has extra curriculars. Is there a year that your character starts school for the first time that I should go through those ones first. Im ok with skipping the prompts to make my character I think that was the first year. Im just so lost and want to get the full school experience so any help would be much appreciated!
This will be my first time ever participating in the Orilium Magical Readathon! ❤ That being said, I have heard overwhelming different opinions on where to begin, so any help would be appreciate. Where should I begin? And am I allowed to create two separate characters to go down the different paths? 🤔
This is always a little fun adventure. I like the prizes at the end and the story you have to go through to get them. ✨ My character probably just got stuck in a dungeon when she was exploring and saw something shiny and couldn't get a door opened again when it shut on her.
I was also wandering about CAWPILE. I saw on your instagram you have 2 colors this year. Both looked really cute! I thought you mentioned something about linking them also in your next video. Were you planning to still do that or did you end up deciding to make a video for it anyway? It's okay either way. Just curious. 💖
