  • On March 21, 2024 I did a big hike in Rocky Mountain National Park. I started at Bear Lake and hiked up to Emerald Lake. I then returned to Bear Lake and hiked down to the Glacier Gorge. I continued up to The Loch via the "Winter Trail." The Winter Trail is a seasonal trail that you can hike up to the Loch Vale junction. This trail is over a running creek and melt out underneath can occur. So, precaution is advised. Otherwise, you can reach the Loch Vale Junction by hiking up and past Alberta Falls. It was a beautiful yet blustery day and hike. 9 miles and 1900 feet of elevation gain.
