I’ve been watching video after video after video of these Seamasters from Bruce and you... And keep enjoying them as if they were the first ones. Congrats on the watch Rob.
The white dial looked so much bigger when it was held on the right side of the black dial. What a great looking watch. I've got the old quartz version and can't part with it even if it gets little wrist time. Thanks for all of your hard work making these great videos
Grats on the new watch and the white dial looks amazing! I'm hoping to get my first Omega 1957 at some point. The movement is amazing as well.
White dial is stunning. Been saving for one for a while to make it my first high end piece and i can’t wait!
Did you get one yet?
You synchronized the watch for the video. Thanks for the attention to detail. Class!
Thanks for the side by side Rob. For sure the white is more legible and just pops. It’s a keeper for sure.
I appreciate the fact that they were synced up! Great timepieces.
Thank you so much!! I intend to make one of these my first luxury watch purchase but can’t decide which one to go with. At least this gives me a reference. Thx again!
Hey,
So have you bought one?
If so then which one?
@@danisheverblue I didn’t take that plunge yet. Not going out for a year slowed my progression. But I intend on getting the white one.
Bought the black, had it for 6 months and love it. The bezel action is very smooth and you figure out the sweet spot for rotating it since it doesn’t have a coin edge. I actually have grown to like the helium escape valve and feel it adds character. I love this watch and going to buy the white as well and wear it on the black rubber strap.
I thought about this exact strategy so I would have bracelet and strap be interchangeable between the two dials - but it does seem a little gratuitous. But I love the 300m so much it’s maybe the only watch I wouldn’t mind having in two colors
Thank you for this video... I've been considering both but now I think the white one is the way to go for me unless I change my mind when I see them in person.
Thanks again
I had a white dial Christopher Ward C60 Trident 600 diver, the previous generation (Mk II). Loved the watch, but legibility was compromised due to the polished stainless steel hands and indices. The Omega Seamaster Diver 300M fixes that with black hands and indices, making for excellent contrast. I also like how the white dial tones down the wave pattern and makes it more subtle than on the black or the blue.
An affordable black-dial diver is a must in a collection. Tons of SKK007s still available out there. After that, I would consider the white dial Seamaster as my "special occasion" diver. It really is something.
Made it in again. The Seamaster 300m is outstanding. The white dial is fantastic!
Congrats and I hear ya, starting to gravitate towards white dial watches. For a black dial diver under $1500 what about a Oris Aquis or Fortis B-42 Marine Master ... slightly used of course. Both are great and underrated Swiss brands IMO. Love the Spy vs. Spy !
Love the white dial but I think the blue and black play with the light so much more
Either way love them all!
Beautiful pieces. I‘ve sold my 90‘s Seamaster and I will definitely buy again a seamaster. Bracelet is just beautiful and comfortable and although some people don’t like the escape valve I think it became a characteristic of this watch over years. Maybe you should look on that valve not from aesthetics and also not from usage perspective. It is a part of the DNA.
Watched over 20 videos about these two models, you're the only one to mention glossy black and Matte White... This was critical! Thank you Rob!
I think you might be misunderstanding what was said. Both black and white dials are polished ceramic, so they look glossy . Rob was talking about the engraving being matte grey on black dial and matte white on the white dial.
@n-igmawatchtalk8712 you are not understanding this..check out the two in real. Black one looks all glossy overall from bezel to glass and from glass to dial, lights just dance and reflect against it.
White one does not. White dial looks like plastic or matt. It does have unique charms to it but lacks that luxury feel to its look. Black vivid lines present in white dial looks like someone used ink fine liner around the edges
Thank you, nice to see the colors sides by side. Now I just need to decide if my wrist is big enough for this piece over the Aqua Terra. I love the white dial as well, thanks again!
Thanks for the video Rob...those are beautiful watches
Appreciate the reviews and comparisons, I'm looking hard at that white dial Omega; gorgeous watch. It's difficult to decide on color when you're working with a budget and aiming for something that can really go with any outfit or occasion. However, I think with this most recent Seamaster design you really can't go wrong with either the white, black, or blue.
I saw the white dial in person at the Omega Boutique. It looks great and wish I had the means to buy it. Happy to see you pick it up to share with us Rob Congrats!
Three weeks ago I sat at the jewelry counter comparing the white, black and blue Seamaster for a long time. While I had originally wanted to buy the white I bought the blue . All three are exceptional and I will probably be buying the white one in the near future. Thanks for the video.
Blue all day
I really like the white dial better !!! Thanks for the great videos !!!
Awesome watch Rob. I have the blue one and love it. To be honest I like all the colours but the blue just feels like the original colour to me. The fit and finish is flawless on mine and it’s the most accurate automatic watch I’ve owned by a mile. She’s a keeper 👍🏼
For the sake of comparison, what other automatic watches have you owned?
@@HankTheTank23 hi Henry. I also own a Omega Seamaster 300 and the new Speedmaster sapphire sandwich as well as a Tudor black bay 41 and Black bay 58 navy plus a few Hamilton khaki watches.
@@leeharding8306 God it, thank you for sharing! To be clear, is the other Omega Seamaster 300 you own an older version?
@@HankTheTank23 yes it’s the ceramic bezel older version. The new version is a better fit and has a slimmer case like the new Speedmaster has a better fit and a slimmer case. Omega are clearly refining their new models in the right way 👍🏼
@@leeharding8306 Got it, thanks for clarifying!
For me it's the black one...by far! Actually, I just bought that one yesterday on the steel bracelet & also bought the rubber bracelet and changed the bracelet. Black Omega Seamaster with the black rubberband looks amazing!
I have the white dial and the black bezel on the black rubber bracelet and they contrast very well together the white dial really pops.
Gorgeous! Congrats, Rob.
Between you and Bruce my want for an Omega is back. I've looked hard at the Aquaterra. I think aesthetically Omega knocks it out of the park. Then you add the Daniel's Coaxial Escapement and you have a work of art with historical relevance.
Just bought a Seamaster professional and I have held/ tried on a aqua terra. I shot video with it for my channel but didn’t edit it yet. Both amazing watches and you can’t go wrong with either
I also bought the white dial. It is my first luxury watch and i love it!
The grey dial looks great and is the most blingy one at first sight but i think it could become too „flashy“ if it is your only watch.
The blue was too playful and not versatile enough for me.
The black is my 2nd favorite but it was too dark for me.
The white has a great contrast, perfect versatility and you can see all the amazing details on it easily. Only drawback is that it is not as shiny as the other ones.
Congrats Rob, she’s a beauty. Wear it in good health.
I have always loved white dials. I’ve always love the seamaster. So this is a match made in heaven. The watch gods have been good to you Rob. LoL
Hector Orozco Yes white dials are cool. I have a early 2001 Chronograph 30 with white dial. Not very legible but looks great. Check out my Seamaster collection video.
Mr Perpetual I just checked out your Seamaster video and left a comment. Solid collection.
Absolutely love it. Great job.
I really like the white dial and how it pops but the black ceramic dial really reflects well under natural light in a way the white dial doesn’t. Both are great.
I almost feel like the black ceramic dial is too much. I know it's cool as heck, but in certain light it makes it look too much with light Reflection. I bet you the next version will tone down how shiny the dial is. It's not bad at all on the white tho
The black is extraordinary, the contract between the hour markers and dial is just exceptional, and something the white misses out on. I used to prefer the white but now I prefer the black, good thing I didn’t rush into anything haha
White dial is more legible to the eye for me, both are killer timepieces...
Would not mind either in the long run...Nice score RR.
Both gorgeous...but the Great White captured my heart and just picked it up...can't get it off my wrist!
The white is nice. Wish I had waited and bought that instead of the gray dial. But both are nice and the laser engraved dials can be appreciated more on the white and gray versions.
Thx for sharing 👍 Love the white dial for sure 😁
I have the white. It just beats all others for me I love the contrast between the bezel and dial and the depth of the dial when it catches the light 😍
Both watches look fantastic but I do love the white version and how everything just pops. It may be considered more "casual" but that is how I wear mine. I have over 20 watches including a white dial CW C60 mk2 GMT which is one of my favourites to wear. I see you can get an Omega blacker rubber strap which I think would make a killer combo with the white face xx
As always , one of the top watch reviewers channel. Love it!!!!
That is gorgeous. I think I need the white dial
The white dial looks the business with a black rubber strap , really casual but classy . The only thing I would like is the hands and luminous dials in chrome.
I bought mine in what I'll call the Bond blue. If I had to switch it would be black. I like the While but not sure if I would get tired of it and I'm not a flipper when I buy a watch I keep it, but goes in the draw and not wore much.
Omega ought to come up with forest green, burgundy, light blue, salmon, rusty orange, and some other unusual dial/bezel colors just for fun. I also think every single model made should be a four handed GMT. Many fellow pilots will go diving on some of our longer layovers. And many serious divers will cross many time zones in pursuit of their passion. A watch that suits both endeavors only makes sense to me.
As for scratches - very easy to remove with a brillo pad. That’s how I keep my 22 year old SMP looking absolutely brand new.
Great comparison video,, I'm waiting for the lock down to end, to get the black dial version, (hopefully),,
Can't wait to see how, (if) you go about "softening" the sharp edges, as that's something that was worrying me too,!!
I've done it on my Invicta jubilee, but this is a different ball game, due to the price of the watch,, lol ,
All the best, from England,,
..... John ....
the black dial it looks better for me .
@Roberto Maurice very nice. could you make me a favor and inform me the code?
A great review Rob, I would be happy with either, the mirror finishing on the ceramic dial looks fantastic on the black dial and the white, I have a few black dial watches and far less lighter dial ones. I did see a white one on the wrist of an AD sales person some months ago and the face just popped, I think Omega got not only the watch right but from what I've seen all the colorways look great but for me and for this model the white just edges it for this piece but as I say I think they all look great, oh and I have no problem with the helium escape valve at all as it's a characteristic of the 300 diver.
Great video, Rob, thanks
I just love white and beige and silver dials. Black dials with a bubble done looks great though
I have the blue and black ones but been eying the white. Love the contrast
I couldn’t make up my mind between the black, white or blue dial versions for a long time. Then decided on the black dial version and love it.
The white dial is sweet!!
I prefer the white dial as well. Congrats!
I wanted the white dial more than anything until I held both in my hands. The black dial was just so much better. It looks sleeker, the contrasts are more defined, not to mention the black goes with a lot more clothing options than the white, and just looks much more profesional. I’ve put it on the black rubber strap and it’s the perfect combination of smart/casual.
Oh yes! I totally agree with you!
White dial with white hour markings vs. black dial with white hour markings… this is the very definition of contrast dude.
@@Matt-bg5wg Fair point on the hour indices but the hour and minute hands are easier to read at a glance and in dark settings on the white since they are black against white. I have owned both.
The blue with Sedna gold is the real winner
You really can’t go wrong with either one. I think the black dial goes better with the stainless steel bracelet and the white dial goes better with the black rubber strap. A friend just got the black dial with the black rubber strap and I think there’s too much black going on with that combination.
Got to go with the white but the black is sharp to !! I personally love the one I just bought the grey with blue bezel
Can't go wrong with that white dial my friend.
I prefer the black, I have it my self, it's a little more masculine look, but the white is also beautiful in it's own way, and pops really beautifully in the sun.
Omega has white-dialled limited edition versions of the old 300M and the Planet Ocean. Each looks stunning but has blue trim rather than black, which I'd love to see as an option for this 300M.
Beautiful I own the gray dial love it
Just bought my own gray dial two days ago, can’t take my eyes off it
That white dial is superb❤️
I got the black SMPc and that white SMP 300 on a rubber strap. Each is gorgeous in its own way. But the black is irresistable
I love the white seems to just pop better
Digging the white dial man. I would totally Rock That Watch. Oh wait! I do. 🤣
Me too!!! Lovin it!!
Me as well
When I tried them both in the shop, on wrist the white definitely appeared to wear smaller. My partner who was there at the time said exactly the same thing. Went with the black. Beautiful watches either way.
That black is so classy at the same time sporty. Hope to get one.
my next watch , good value and a great watch
Looking forward to seeing the CW beside the Seamaster, clearly the Omega is a better watch, but it will be interesting to see them side by side.
Agree 100% on wearing, and enjoying your watch. Don't buy a watch you can't "afford" to get scratched.
The white looks great from a distance but when you look up close you see it has a matte finish that looks like cheap plastic. Black is the way to go.
The white one does look more elegant, thats why the Rolex Explorer 2 in white is more looked after than the black version. You made the right choice, congrats.
Goes to show how dial color makes a huge difference!
Owned both. Love them vsfs
I have the black one as it goes with anything but the white one is deffo easier the read in some lights. I see white as a more casual colour on this type of watch.
That white dial is gorgeous. You are correct, white objects appear ~10% larger than they are - this is why hockey goalies often wear white gear. Thank you for the comparison video, the new Seamaster is beautiful 😊
I thought I would shoot on the black dial and almost did, but the white dial with the black bezel just spoke to me in my AD. I also thought I was going to get a PO in 39.5mm until I tried it on. I also like that the waves are slightly less obvious in the white dial imo. I do often wonder what the white dial would look like with black indices though.
I love this watch. I'm selling a Rolex Explorer and buying the black dial. I love white dials, but when I get them they look small on my wrist for some reason.
Love both of these man...I think Id get white first but they are both stunning
When you realize that you can get TWO omega seamasters for the price of ONE rollie sub.
And you can actually go into an AD and get them rather than just have your name on a list
catcat40000 and they are technically better watches...
Two thing that bus me is sound of bezel when moving abd gas escape valve
Watch Aficionado You can take out the word technically. They’re just better watches. I have the same black Seamaster seen here and had a SubC ND. Sold the Sub. Didn’t wear it much and, every time I did, it kept getting magnetized by my $12 Amazon bought Bluetooth speaker or my wireless phone charger. It kept inferior time to my Omega even when it wasn’t playing compass.
Or 4 Christopher wards. Having just watched that video I’d simply get the CW and save a fortune over the sub or the seamaster
Black one for me, saving up for it for a big bday coming up in 2 yrs, probably be able to snag one for a bit less by then too!
Omega just incorporated a 6.6% increase on all of their watches. Next one may be in another year 🤷🏻♂️
Do it man !! I saved up for a long time and just got a SMP from Jomashop saves a grand and I absolutely love it it s worth it
@@ticktology Didn‘t really influence the grey market though. You‘re getting this white 300m for slightly under 4.000 € in Germany (new).
I got the 1993 model omega seamaster 300m black dial silver bezel. It's amazing brother I know this is a few yrs old but how they holding up for ya?? Iv had mine since 2006.. and btw mine is a 41mm as well the big boy version lol used they run 3900 bucks it's insane how they keep value
I think the black looks best with the waved dial. The white would 100% be my choice if it had a solid ceramic dial without the wave cuts.
love your review. thanks
Both are beautiful! White definitely looks larger, but depending on the wrist size, it might not be an issue.
Part of what makes watch collecting(?) fun is that buying 2nd hand, you can really try a bunch of different watches without wasting too much money. Buying full retail though is a huge money sink, unless it's a once off!
I like the white, but the black one has an extra special look to it especially in the sunlight.
Smart man
yes it does. It has multiple color range
I just reached 30 yrs with my company and as a treat to myself.......just pulled the trigger on the black dial.Bought from Omega website(I know....)but wanted the full Omega warranty and documentation. This is a “lifetime” watch for me so want to do it “ right”. It was $5895 after AZ sales tax.
Heck yeah, this is how it’s done. You earned it! Wear it often.
Congratulations, are you still enjoying your Omega 300m?
What about getting one of these two for review: Blancpain Bathyscaphe or Girard Perragaux Laureato.
Honestly I think they both look really look good. Either one works for me as far as colour dials go.
It's 1/12/21 I have been wearing my new planet ocean 39.5mm rubber strap for four days now. I would really suggest anyone that wants a omega divers watch to go into their AD
And try on the 300 over one of the divers watches that has
the slats all the way around. My 39.5mm is much easier to spin compared to the 300. I tried the 300 on and found the 300 very hard to turn over my 39.5mm. put the watches side by side. Don't take my word for it. Try both the 300. Then try the BEZEL with the slats all the way around. You really need to compare both watches on and see the 300 is not easy.
I'd say it's the contrast of black and white causing it to look bigger. Kind of like gym lighting, the lighting is usually rather harsh but that means it causes shadows to form on your body and it give you the appearance of being bigger
While I am not a fan of that honkin' Helium Release Valve on these watches, I really do like the overall look of these watches...
The dials look great. Plus, they moved the Date Window down the the Six O'clock position. Which, IMHO, is far better than having it at the 3 Marker. It just makes the whole dial look cleaner, and more symmetrical...
Hiluxtaco Agree about the date at 6. Made the watch a lot better.
The HE valve is a signature Seamaster icon. Just like the cyclopes eye on the submariner date. Not something you're likely to see them remove. Honestly like the look of it. It makes it instantly recognizable, and doesn't get in the way at all while wearing it.
Personally, I went with the grey/silver dial. I Own an Explorer II with a white dial, and few watches with black and blue dials. Nice to have a different look. All the colors are great.
Its the black trim on the indices that make
It pops out, 3D, so it's just a personal preference. For me its tge black one, its more classy, it goes with anything.
I always thought these Seamasters are ugly. But now I like them a lot and I think they are beautiful. It happens to me with women as well. Why
Sold my month old 43mm planet ocean and bought this white dial. While the PO is more "premium" with applied arabic markers and Omega logo, the SMP is more for everyday wear with a very legible white dial and date. If someone is on the fence between PO/smp, get the smp if it will be your daily wear. PO is nice but the 43mm version is chunky and heavy. I'm rocking mine on a 20mm tan nato strap.
Both look fantastic
Thanks for this vid
I have the white and blue dials. Had the black but traded it when I purchased a Rolex Ceramic “no date” Sub. My only critique is please put something down on the wood to prevent unnecessary scratches.
Love that white dial - maybe put it on that black rubber strap for the contrast? Are Omega rubber straps quality?
They are. I just bought the black dial with the steel bracelet (for potential resale later) but bought the rubber strap extra and got Omega to switch them out. It’s a beautiful, elegant and comfortable design, feels really great on the wrist and very stable. I have a Rolex Sub so I found myself comparing the two steel bracelets too much (Rolex is better by a mile), so switching the Omega out for a rubber strap with the black dial creates the ultimate smart casual everyday wrist watch. I love it.
That white dialled Omega is gorgeous! Too bad that at 42mm it's just WAY too big for my 6 and 1/2 inch wrist. Looks perfect in you though! 😃😃😃👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Although I could barely wear the 42mm on my 7.2” left wrist I already have the Hesalyte Moonwatch at 42 and have decided that’s the only 42mm I want in my collection. I’m holding out for this watch to come out in a 40mm case. The new laser engraved white ceramic wave dial with its larger waves than previous models is unmatched in the industry. Taken together with the mildly domed anti reflective sapphire crystal, the 2 tone lume, the skeletonized handset, the symmetry of the 6 o’clock date window and the dimensional hour markers in my view this dial is nowhere approached in the dive watch marketplace. When you add the ceramic bezel, the 15000 gauss magnetic resistant chronometer movement modestly but handsomely decorated and displayed there is no situation when this watch is out of place.
Check out the black bay 58 ceramic black from Tudor. Nice black dial watch!
congrats, Rob. I really like the gray dial one.
Just bought a grey dial I absolutely love it
It's kinda the same concept if you paint one room black, and another room (same size) white - the black room will feel a lot smaller. Something with light reflection. I only know bc I witnessed it years back. Nice vid!👍
Black dial will look considerably bigger than the white . It’s like that with the c ward c60 I think it’s because the black has black bezel so total uniformity with the white the uniformity is broken by the black bezel ..
