Building a Garden Railway • Trackbed Renewal • Development Works on the line

- Most of the Linleys Garden Railway has had its trackbed upgraded to a concrete sub-structure. I have spent the last few winters replacing the older wooden decking but retaining the structural steel edges. This section is the last of the loop line around the back of the shed. There are a couple more sections to upgrade but they will be tackled as later projects.
The DLC (Decentralised Logic Control) System of train and line control has been designed especially for the Linleys Garden Railway.

Great video, what a lot of nonsense about the track team 😂 definitely made me laugh - nice combination of quality workmanship and humour. New subscriber!
Hey thank you for watching. I have more in the planning but time has been against me recently. I appreciate you being a subscriber, cheers and welcome! Warren :)
Interesting video, thanks for sharing. Loved the commentary 💜👍✌️😀
Interesting construction techniques too✌️👍💜 I take it that the manhole cover never needs lifting 🤔😲😲😳😉😀😀✌️👍💜
Im having to rebuild low to the ground baseboards, Im using Filcris and uPVC - Im fed up with substandard timber (two lots to date in past ten years).
In the larger scales Ive seen PECO track screwed to spaced block pavers in a gravel 'trough', Brian Harrup seemed to originate the idea - it works well👍💜
Good luck with your railway works. The access lids are all openable. I add cables as needed. Certainly the concrete is more durable than the wood but the wood let me adjust the trackbed a bit if needed. Cheers, Warren 🤠
@@Linleys Thanks Warren, keep up the good work😊✌️💜
Cheers, Warren :)
Ah, leaf blower what. a good idea I might get my permanent team one (that's me by the way)
My leaf blower has done so well over the years. Makes the job a bit easier. Thank you for watching the video and commenting. Cheers 🤠
Enough knaves there Warren fir Mr CLB to make another bed .. lol. This project keeps you busy but you're getting heaps done so the end is nearer. Thanks for the update. Bushyboy Oz.
Ha, funny :)
I'm not sure I can see the "end" of the line yet, I keep coming up with new bits, and aspects which need installing. That is part of the fun though :)
Thanks as always for your support and comments, Cheers, Warren
Great work Warren, looks like a tight spot you and the MOW team are working. The concrete delivery was spot on with the desired mixture. Look forward to seeing these rails in service again. 👏👍🚂
Ha yes, it is all team work of course! More work to do and will crack on when I have weekend time available. Cheers, Warren :)
Good to see the Engineering team working flat out....Love the rustic laces by the way.
Those boots go back sooo many years and have taken me around hill and dale back in the day. I'm reluctant to get rid of them... :) Cheers, Warren
Great work! Always looking forward to your next video!
Great to hear from you, really appreciate your support. Next Garden Railway video is due in 2 weeks but I am busy over the weekend coming up so may need to delay a week. Lots to do on the Linleys Railway so lots of updates will follow. Cheers, Take care, Warren :)
thats a great design! you have a 16mm line, take off the bricks and then you have a 5 inch guage line!
Hey now that's a thought! I don't know how much clearance I would need where the tunnels are though! :) Warren
Great Job and love the tongue in cheek commentary, I would add that the foreman could do with a new set of bootlaces in your email
I will ask for new boots as well I think, the ones I use are somewhat knackered! Thanks for your support, cheers, Warren :)
Very nice work Warren! Lookong forward to seeing how the progress turns on the Linleys garden railway! Be safe and happy railroading Benjamin!
Hey yes, there is lots more to do. I'm a bit busy over the next few weeks so the planned video in 2 weeks may need to be delayed a week. At least the weather is better these days. Thanks for your support and comment. Cheers, Warren :)
@@Linleys you are very welcome for the support and feedback!
well done team
Yeah, "they" worked so hard :) All good fun though! Cheers, Warren
That was some surreal voiceover! Did you record that after the pub 😂
Post-pub voiceover may have been, but probably lots of custard helped!
Thanks as always for your comments and support Dan, cheers, Warren :)
How was the metal frame track way constructed?
Hondo you fix the tack down to the concrete
Hi Mark, I use stainless screws. Take a look at this video...
