The judges comments are of true astonishment. This was the first night of a nine week competition. This set the tone for the entire event. All of them are humbled and speak so well of how much they were moved. You would do well to listen to thier stories.

As a matter of fact the "judges" sitting on the red seats are not judges but fellow competitors of this song contest. All of them are professional singers. Finally after 9 TV shows and 9 performances of each singer in different genres, Diana won this song contest. In each show there was an invited guest to the show. In this particular show, he is the man who was sitting in the back row next to Diana's seat = the gentleman, who jumped up. He is a famous opera singer.

Dream Team Neal, sorry for the length of this comment, but there is a lot information to give. This performance took place on September 25, 2021, when Diana Ankudinova was 18 years old and a contestant on a new televised Russian vocal competition called the “ShowMaskGoOn”. This competition was shown one episode per week, over a nine week period. Diana competed against 8 other professional singers who were also members of the judging panel. Based on each individuals performance they awarded judging points to each other. When not performing Diana was also a member of this judging panel which brought the contestant total to 9 individuals.
Each singer was required to performed a different song each of the nine weeks, and each person had to use different genres and different styles of music. One of the 9 songs Diana performed was her cover of the Elvis Presley classic, “Can’t Help Falling In Love”. This performance showed what many vocal professionals have previously said, Diana Ankudinova has developed into a true contralto voice type, and for those that may not know, a contralto voice is the lowest kind of female voice, and a true contralto is very, very rare, and Diana opens “Can’t Help Falling In Love”, in her deep contralto voice.
During an interview Diana said she was unhappy with her lack of a higher vocal range, and it was this lack that kept her out of the more prestigious Russian music academies. After one of the most prestigious academies rejected her, she decided, along with her voice teacher to concentrate on improving and extending her upper range, and that improvement can be heard during in the middle portion with her interpretation of the Elvis Presley classic.
Now, to answer a very commonly asked question about Diana’s vocal range, because vocal range is used to help define a female singer's voice type. At age 13, in 2017, her vocal range was measured from a low of D3 to a high of A5, a solid Alto range, but low for a 13 year old girl. In 2021, 5 years later at age 18, during her “ShowMaskGoOn” performance, Diana’s vocal range was again measured. Her functional vocal range now measures from a low of C3 (male tenor range) to a high of B♭5 (Mezzo Soprano range). The improvement to her upper range is also on full display during the middle part of this performance.
But it's not just how low or high she can go, it's the exceptional quality of her tone in her upper and lower registers, and her ability to transition seamlessly between both her lower and upper registers. It's in her timbre, the roundness, fullness, and depth of her voice. Coupled along with her ability to create, access, and use an enormous amount of resonance that further define Diana as a Dramatic Contralto which is the deepest, darkest, and most powerful contralto voice type, and is the rarest of the rare contralto voice types. The depth and power of her full Dramatic Contralto chest voice is on full display during the final section of her performance.
So the question becomes, how does she do it? How does such a young female singer achieve the low, round, rich, deep, resonant, and profound sounds? Without being able to actually scope her vocal tract while she is producing these low notes to actually see what is or is not happening, the general conciseness from many vocal professionals seems is simply attribute Diana’s unique vocal ability to her winning the genetic lottery. Diana was just born with her unique vocal anatomy. Diana’s vocal folds, (vocal cords), appear to be longer and thicker than the vast majority of female singers. Her larynx (voice box), also appears to be larger, and her oral cavity (mouth) is larger, plus her pharynx (throat), similarly appears to be longer than other female singers. This combination of vocal anatomy gives Diana the ability to produce the low, deep, rich, full sounds that along with her unique tone quality makes her stand out, but without actually scoping her vocal track, there is no way to be 100% sure.
To conclude, midway during Diana’s performance the judge on the top row who stands is a well known Russian opera tenor, Yusif Eyvazov from Azerbaijan, who is married to the world famous Russian opera soprano Anna Netrebko. At the end of Diana Ankudinova’s performance, Diana receives a standing ovation from all her fellow competitors. A fellow judge and competitor, Julia Parshuta, the blond woman standing in the center row dressed all in red is well-known in Russia as a contemporary singer. Julia Parshuta looks totally shocked at the end of Diana's performance, puts both hands on top of her head with a look of total bewilderment and disbelief. Finally, the 9 week competition concluded on November 20, 2021, with Diana Ankudinova was awarded the most judging points from the other competitors over the 9 weeks, and was declared the winner of the series of nine programs.

One video of Diana's, in my sight, is a total masterpiece the like of which I don't remember ever seeing before in my long life. It's a must see for anyone that loves singing with unending emotion. The background of the song is essential to know. The title of the song is "Ornery (or "Fastidious" or "Finicky") Horses". The song has nothing to do with horses in reality - the horses are being used as a metaphor for life.
