Just an FYI regarding the trigger stop inconvenience: The flydigi app profiles you setup are stored onto the onboard memory. After this you can close the app completely and then while holding the "Select/Back" button, press either A, B, X or Y to switch to any of the 4 profiles quickly. I do this A LOT haha Select+A is my general use with normal triggers. Select+B is my racing profile. Select+X is my shooter profile. And Select+Y is my trigger stop profile. So I tend to just use the shortcut to hotswap profiles that I've already created. Much easier.

They do a very good job at emulating real trigger stops and unless you're incredibly heavy handed, it's unlikely you'll regularly use the strength required to push passed the resistance point for this to be a concern. I've only done this once and it was because I thought I was on my shooter profile and went full squeeze on the right trigger. I noticed IMMEDIATELY that something wasn't right and quickly realized: wrong profile. As a test, I've just tried 'accidentally' pushing the trigger locks multiple times. Unless you have forearm endurance for dayyyys then you'll be getting fatigued incredibly fast while attempting to play the game while pushing passed the resistance trigger locks so, I hope that information helps. My personal opinion: They're fantastic alternatives to hardware stops due to the fact that they're multipurpose via adaptive triggers. I can use trigger locks for general browsing my PC with a gamepad and then enable adaptive triggers for games. The strength / resistance of the triggers are surprisingly strong. To the point where I actually want them (flydigi) to lower the lowest resistance value we have. I adore the vibration adaptive trigger mode on this and would prefer less resistance and more dynamic vibrations based on game audio.
Yep, the quick switch is nice. I had to enable the quick switch function in the app before it would let me change the profiles by hitting select + A, B, X, Y in case anyone is trying to do this and finds it isn't switching profiles.
Thank you for the update. I like the fact the screen animation can be edited, get something mellow, and it might reduce distraction. It is a super slick piece of hardware. Seriously one to consider purchasing in future.
I ordered one of these yesterday and it arrived today... after testing and returning (in the last month) 2 XBox Elite Series two controllers that wouldn't work with full trigger stop engaged, a Scuf Instinct Pro that quit working on me mid game 4 times, a Scuf Envision Pro which I really liked but the right trigger was jacked after two weeks... a Power A Fusion Pro 3 (total garbage... nothing like the 2 was), a Sony Dual Sense Edge that I didn't like and a Thrustmaster E Swap S because the paddle and bumper placement on it was weird. I've been getting this dialed in and am amazed at how great a controller is. THIS is what you should be getting when you pay $150 plus for a controller. The software is simple to navigate as is the onboard menu... and no additional grips required other then a right thumbstick extender that I put on it. Thx for tips and knowledge!
Constructive criticism here. The other day I watched a review from another channel, showing all the features of this controller, with all the important stuff like polling rate, adaptive triggers, analog sticks, buttons, all sorts of compatibility tests, and basically everything you covered in 2 videos + a teardown, with around half the size of your first video. You are one of my favorite controller reviewers out there, you are probably one of the pioneers when it comes to reviewing polling rates, hall effect sticks and mechanical face buttons, which is exactly what I was looking for. I'm not asking for your videos to be shorter, just to be complete. Your videos are very entertaining, and the other review I saw was very serious, technical, and to the point, shorter and more complete. A "late-night hotfix patch" is good to correct some mistakes, but it shouldn't be needed in the first place. Most people might not even see the 2nd video or even care about it, they already saw one that they presume was complete, instead of watching the base video and wait for the Expansion Pack DLC season 2 video. (I know that it's better for the channel to have more videos, more views, more likes, more comments and more engagement overall, but it ultimately hurts the quality of the reviews and the perceived quality from the viewers.) I hope I have not offended you in any manner, as I am a great connoisseur of your content. Even if I'm not interested in the product, I watch for the entertainment you provide!
You can manually set any % cut out for adaptive trigger lock distance in software. Even 99%. You can set power for lock motors too, so it's will be rock stone click with short actuation point.
So your saying I can get trigger locks on the apex 4 , mosty play fps games ,have Vader 3 pro and would like that 1000 pole rate and tension thumbstick , mostly for Cod and warzone but having the adaptive triggers for non fps would be great too

Great addon, thanks, I'll have to try the adaptive trigger thing. I think it's worth mentioning that while reWASD doesn't allow to configure back buttons to anything, the flydigi app allows to remap any button to any xinput, keyboard or mouse button - it took me a while to notice that I can just press anything on my keyboard and it gets set up properly. Only limitation that I found was that macros are limited to xinput, keyboard and mouse can be only done with one to one mapping.
This will be my next controller, nice to know there is a pro controller at an affordable price. Ive spent close to $2000 on controllers cuz the eventual stick drifts
They should've had the triggers exactly like they're but with the added mouse clicky tactile triggers as another feature with the analog switch. I really do hate the trigger with a passion
SOMEONE HAS DONE IT! Hall effects and a 1000 hz polling rate. Now PlayStation and xbox have no excuses if they want to advertise a "pro controller". I would get an elite again if they made these additions.The Elite Series 2 still has the best back paddles and I don't have the balls to buy a controller with a back button setup up like this because it just doesn't make sense. Almost got the scuff envision because I feel the sax buttons could make up for not having a designated button for each finger on the back but I knew Hall Effects and 1000 hz polling rate was around the corner. I've put 3,000+ hours into a stock grey camo duel sense and am just now getting stick drift and it feels like I'm getting double inputs sometimes on the x button. My problem with the edge is that if my joystick and buttons wear out at the same time, replacing the joystick means nothing to me. Man, thanks for making videos like this. I highly doubt the companies that make controllers would be making steps like this if it weren't for you specifically and the community as a whole corroborating everything you say.
I wish they would add the option for a small vibration feedback at the end of a trigger stop pull. Would add some nice tactile feedback for the trigger stop
I really love the Apex 2. I bought it a couple of years ago - before I even saw your video on it actually - mostly for games like Everspace 2 and Elite Dangerous Odyssey - flight sims where you need a ton of extra buttons for the 6 degrees of motion etc. But recently, I rediscovered the controller because the Dualsense Edge has really spoiled me with it's back paddles and now I need them for everything. Helldivers 2 feels particularly nice on the Apex 2. I don't understand why they removed the extra shoulder buttons and the C & Z though. I get why the moving X Y B buttons didn't make it to future iterations - it's so niche, but the extra shoulder buttons especially are really useful and feel really good. I dunno, I can't see myself getting a new Apex when the 2 was ... well the Apex.
Nice to see you mention how aim assist and gyro do not mix. You can make it work, but it would be like adding aim assist to mouse, it just doesn't make sense.

For the Vader 3, can you map keyboard shortcuts to it? I haven't been able find any info on it. I'm trying to decide between the Vader 3 and the g7 se.
As a PC player for well over 15 years I can tell you that reWASD is definitely not common among PC players, a small percentage uses it, and an even smaller percentage of those players use gyro. Never met a single person use reWASD outside of for keymapping on keyboards.
I wish for a way to turn off the screen, I just know it's adding latency (no matter how small). Other than that, this is the best controller in terms of performance and comfort. I didn't think the PS5 controller would be so thoroughly beaten. Feeling the trigger rumbling when speeding around in Rocket League is so gratifying. They are due to issue a firmware to improve the "circularity test" as well, which would perfect the controller IMO. My only regret is retiring the EasySMX X10, another phenomenal controller. Does anyone know if reWASD adds latency when mapping the controller to a keyboard?

Got mine a while back. I feel like the gif images are very slow and the frame limit is pretty lame too. I know the screen is small but I feel like for a few more dollars and programming they could have put more effort and quality into the screen. The way it stands now I agree that they could have just scrapped it.

How can you turn off the display? And how can you map the home key to xbox game bar? I was able to do it before but my home button doesnt open gamebar anymore
So you can't turn the screen off but can only replace what's displayed? That sucks, I would prefer no light being emited from my controller if I can help it. I even tape the logo of my Xbox controller with black tape to prevent any light leaking.

I have a question, I see in all the reviews the input latency being praised of this controller, but on the gamepadle website, the cable latency for the flydigi apex4 appears to be twice as high as the dual sense. Is this correct? What are your thoughts on that? Because when I see youtubers testing with xinput, the flydigi apex4 scores better every time?

hi there! so im coming from a xbox series x wireless controller, which would be an upgrade for me? vader 3 pro or the apex 4? what im excited most for is the higher polling rate, not sure if ill feel a difference since i dont play compettively and only casual side scrollers or games thats top view. Also im excited for the mechanical buttons and hopefully better vibration motors. between the vader3pro and apex 4, are there vibration motors any different and their mechanical buttons? the vader 3 pro is half the price of an apex 4 in my country and im wondering which is more worth it to get since i wont be using most of the apex 4 features.
Is this controller thick compared to say a standard Xbox series S controller? I recently returned the Manba one controller bc of hand fatigue being do to the controllers thickness.
This is the best controller on the market in my opinion. If I could change one thing, I would move the back buttons into a configuration where the buttons were in a location that lines up more with something like the Xbox Elite 2 paddles. I'd rather use ring and middle fingers to actuate the buttons than have to press both buttons with my middle fingers. Aside from that the controller is way ahead of the competition. The customization through the app is second to none. The screen is a little overkill, but it does make remapping the rear buttons extremely easy, which is nice. Overall, it has set a new standard for gamepads.
@yeahboah307 I got the apex 4. Nearly perfect. Needs back paddles and the buttons are a bit small. Would have been nice for the extra face buttons like the vadar. Apart from that probably the best controller I've used.

I've had two Flydigi controllers. The Vader and Vader2. I hate them passionately. The thumbsticks register as face buttons and they lose connection frequently. Customer service was awful. No matter how I worded it they didn't understand my problem. I even sent them a video. *Never again.*
Good for Tekken and amazing for general use. I was used to the DS4 dpad so it took some time to adapt because it is easier to press diagonals (it has 8 individual switches for both the directions and diagonals).
Awesome follow up. Disappointing about there being no way to map keyboard buttons to the back paddles. I was ok with not being able to map multi key keyboard functions , which I wouldve used to save and load states on MAME, but I atleast wanted single keyboard keys to be able to save and load on the fly through Retroarch and other emulation set ups that have single hot keys for saving and loading. This is a huge thing for isolated save state practice on some super hard old games, to really put them together. Was hoping to do this wirelessly at my desk. Do you think there will ever be a way to do that on the controller? If not I will still keep the controller if its high quality, but may have to invest in Scuf's PC controller in the future, which has these features, plus multi key mapping, but unsure about the quality of that Dpad for old games. The Scuf doesnt have hall sticks unfortunately, or clicky face buttons and missing alot of other features, but older games just need a good d-pad for the most part. I can map turbo to individual buttons on some emulators. I will use it for new games too but the save state feature was huge for me. Can also just buy some more foot pedals for my desk area. I use foot pedals currently to save and load on the fly but on my main gaming set up.

This controller is a piece of trash mine lasted a week and a half and the connection point on the left stick broke midgame in cod ... i liked it up till that point

The Gamesir G7 SE already had 1,000 poll rate and Hall Effect as well. Only 2 buttons on back though. But has friction rings just like this one.

Some use it in games to get aim assist on mnk lol, was a big problem in apex but got patched eventually, I'm guessing it still works on some games
iot the Eva 01 limited editon one yesterday and i can say for sure its by fare the best gaming controller you can but for what you get
I wish for a way to turn off the screen, I just know it's adding latency (no matter how small). Other than that, this is the best controller in terms of performance and comfort. I didn't think the PS5 controller would be so thoroughly beaten. Feeling the trigger rumbling when speeding around in Rocket League is so gratifying.
They are due to issue a firmware to improve the "circularity test" as well, which would perfect the controller IMO. My only regret is retiring the EasySMX X10, another phenomenal controller.
Does anyone know if reWASD adds latency when mapping the controller to a keyboard?

you can use dsx to use the triggers motors as trigger stoppers too
or custom resistance for each trigger

Got mine a while back. I feel like the gif images are very slow and the frame limit is pretty lame too. I know the screen is small but I feel like for a few more dollars and programming they could have put more effort and quality into the screen. The way it stands now I agree that they could have just scrapped it.
Gonna ask here too- Does anyone know if this controller can connect to MacOS via a wired/adapter connection for that 1000hz or at least 500hz polling rate?
How can you turn off the display? And how can you map the home key to xbox game bar? I was able to do it before but my home button doesnt open gamebar anymore

So you can't turn the screen off but can only replace what's displayed? That sucks, I would prefer no light being emited from my controller if I can help it. I even tape the logo of my Xbox controller with black tape to prevent any light leaking.

I have a question, I see in all the reviews the input latency being praised of this controller, but on the gamepadle website, the cable latency for the flydigi apex4 appears to be twice as high as the dual sense. Is this correct? What are your thoughts on that? Because when I see youtubers testing with xinput, the flydigi apex4 scores better every time?

hi there! so im coming from a xbox series x wireless controller, which would be an upgrade for me? vader 3 pro or the apex 4? what im excited most for is the higher polling rate, not sure if ill feel a difference since i dont play compettively and only casual side scrollers or games thats top view. Also im excited for the mechanical buttons and hopefully better vibration motors. between the vader3pro and apex 4, are there vibration motors any different and their mechanical buttons? the vader 3 pro is half the price of an apex 4 in my country and im wondering which is more worth it to get since i wont be using most of the apex 4 features.

This is the best controller on the market in my opinion. If I could change one thing, I would move the back buttons into a configuration where the buttons were in a location that lines up more with something like the Xbox Elite 2 paddles. I'd rather use ring and middle fingers to actuate the buttons than have to press both buttons with my middle fingers. Aside from that the controller is way ahead of the competition. The customization through the app is second to none. The screen is a little overkill, but it does make remapping the rear buttons extremely easy, which is nice. Overall, it has set a new standard for gamepads.

@yeahboah307 I got the apex 4. Nearly perfect. Needs back paddles and the buttons are a bit small. Would have been nice for the extra face buttons like the vadar. Apart from that probably the best controller I've used.

I've had two Flydigi controllers. The Vader and Vader2. I hate them passionately. The thumbsticks register as face buttons and they lose connection frequently. Customer service was awful. No matter how I worded it they didn't understand my problem. I even sent them a video. *Never again.*

Good for Tekken and amazing for general use. I was used to the DS4 dpad so it took some time to adapt because it is easier to press diagonals (it has 8 individual switches for both the directions and diagonals).

Awesome follow up. Disappointing about there being no way to map keyboard buttons to the back paddles. I was ok with not being able to map multi key keyboard functions , which I wouldve used to save and load states on MAME, but I atleast wanted single keyboard keys to be able to save and load on the fly through Retroarch and other emulation set ups that have single hot keys for saving and loading. This is a huge thing for isolated save state practice on some super hard old games, to really put them together. Was hoping to do this wirelessly at my desk. Do you think there will ever be a way to do that on the controller? If not I will still keep the controller if its high quality, but may have to invest in Scuf's PC controller in the future, which has these features, plus multi key mapping, but unsure about the quality of that Dpad for old games. The Scuf doesnt have hall sticks unfortunately, or clicky face buttons and missing alot of other features, but older games just need a good d-pad for the most part. I can map turbo to individual buttons on some emulators. I will use it for new games too but the save state feature was huge for me. Can also just buy some more foot pedals for my desk area. I use foot pedals currently to save and load on the fly but on my main gaming set up.

@@bipolaryx lol I know I am one exception to the rule but in my case I just use controllers, mouse would be nice to use but I find so archaic and uncomfortable to play with keyboard.
