I really wanted to find better tires for the Big Rock because the stock tires felt pretty crappy. I had both belted and non belted mx38's so I decided to test them and see what I prefer best on the truck. Either way both are better than stock to me.

Belted ones looked awesome! Much better than stock 👍

Yes way better. I just need a little more power and think this truck will be pretty dang good.

That place looks really cool to run the trucks. Where is that place at?

  • @arq.andresfelipemoralesvar9593

Nice video man! I have the trenchers for my granite 3s, not belted, the next ones for sure will be belted, btw I like that even though the terrain where you drove was very sandy the internals of the vehicle didn’t seem to be stacked on sand. Anyway I’ll subscribe now :D peace

Yeah that sand can bad. Big Rock keeps it our the inside well.

Yeah its much better with good tires now. Just need to go up on the pinion gear a few teeth and should be that much better. Thanks for watching.

Did you check to make sure the cooling fans are working ? I had a cell in one of my batteries that would cause that once ? The good thing on these trucks is that everything is easily tested .

yeah. I might have been pushing it a little hard. Need to upgrade the fans for sure though.

180 is a little warm for motor temps. Under 160 is acceptable for ESC temps tho. But with those larger aftermarket tires that 1/8 scale 150A definitely can't keep up in a 1/7 MT

It's cutting out due to the un belted tires. When the un belted tires expand, it increases the gear ratio causes more heat.

Which one of these would you recommend for general bashing on a sledge on 6s?

    • @RCPropaganda
      @RCPropaganda  Před 4 měsíci

If you're not going to want to flip belted tires are better. You can flip if you have enough power and gearing, though.

When you put the mx38s non belted on the sledge how was the ballooning compared to stock tires on 6s? And did you have to get hub extensions for the sledge to fit the tires?

I don’t think it was temps. Pretty sure thermal cut off is like 225 or some where around there. (I believe you can change to higher temp in programming) Keep in mind internal temps are higher than what you gonna get from outside with laser but it’s pretty negligible (this will be a bigger factor in colder ambient conditions). If you weren’t even at 200 degrees on the laser then temps were not the issue. I like to keep my stuff under 180 on laser simply for longevity sake. Another thing to keep in mind is driving on the lose sand without paddle tires will drive up temps because of all the time spent bashing with no traction.
Nice bash tho! Man, that big rock 6s body seems to be really strong. I’m thinking of getting all the parts I’d need to convert my kraton xl to use this body. Tough decisions tho. I love my kraton xl but I go through bodies too fast for my comfort cause they have no support(even taped with shoe goo, I’ve tried e6000 too). I could’ve done it a while ago with fireteam body but it’s not appealing body to me. This truck body tho 👌🏼 no wing 👌🏼👌🏼

Yeah surprise at what the body takes. Thanks for watching

Good run, it's a shame that it kept cutting, I hope you have sorted it out, keep bashing 😊

Seems to be ok now. Might have been temps. Will have to keep testing. Weather been keeping me away.

Did you ever find out what the issue was?

Might have been over heating. I did do the update and have not had any problems. Spring is here and will have to get back out more and push it hard.

I had problems with my servo heat on my Typhon . It was back feeding into the system and causing glitches. It would not go full trigger and also do exactly what yours was doing. I thought maybe my c rating was to low on my batteries. But swapping servos no problems after. I should have installed a bec

@@Justhavingoneofthosedays@Justhavingoneofthosedays That is very interesting because I had been wracking my brain trying to figure out why in hell my brand new Big Rock had been periodically cutting out as had my new 6s Mojave. I recently bought both and instantly regretted it because Horizon was no help at all. Both share the new Spektrum esc, motor and servo. I put my Talion exb esc and motor in it and it did not cut out with the older Spektrum system in it. I also thought perhaps that I did not perform the esc update properly but it in fact was done properly. I have been operating these in very cold weather so my tempertures have not been nearly as high as this guys have been. I believe I have since figured out the issue because neither vechile has cut out over the past couple of weeks. I had installed a chasis dust cover on both vechiles and prior to purchasing the dust cover I had taped certain areas of the vechiles to keep debris from building up inside during my runs in fields and the woods. I figured because it was cold out neither the esc or motor would overheat. I also was not pushing them to their limits either. I finally decided to read the manual and saw that it says in several places that you need to make sure that the esc and motor have enough air coming in regardless of the temperature. Basically it says that if your esc keeps cutting out it means it is not getting enough air and that you need to figure out a way to get it more air. I do not recall previous Spektrum electronics requiring excessive amounts of air but it seems that these do. I assume the servo also plays a role in this as well. Since making these adjustments neither vechile has cut out. I am actually now very much enjoying the BigRock but not the Mojave. It is not cutting out but it drives lethargically conpared to my other vechiles. Almost like it needs grease or something which I have addressed and it still drives like shit. I think the big fat body just makes it drive differently than Arrma's other 6s vechiles and for that reason I will be looking to trade it in the near future, once I save up for either the new Kraton exb or Kagama. The Xmaxx is in the back of my head as well because the Maxx has been my favorite vechile but it might be out of my price range for now. At the end of the day the Mojave has annoyed me.
