This is one of those cars that people either love it or hate it. Maybe I'm biased because I own one, but I love it!. Got mine in silver and looking to add 18 inch black chrome enkeis on it with pirelli tires!
The quality of the work is good. But the car looked better before.

I was thinking of a 2022 and just wrapping the plastic fenders. How was it to wrap the textured fenders? I'm in Australia so would have to find a local company.

did you have to prep the surface of the over fenders for wrapping since they're not smooth?
I might be the odd one out, but I don't care for the color matched cladding. I like the stock look just with the car lowered a bit
I also like the stock cladding, the color match does look nice on certain colors as well but the cladding let’s all the other wrx’s know just by looking, that my engine is bigger 😂 so that’s right keep looking at my ugly ass plastic cus that’s all your gonna see 🤘

What did you do about the texture on the fenders? Did you sand it down before the wrap or does the golf ball texture come through?
Hot take: the fenders just look... "off" when painted.
did you sand down the plastic fenders to wrap it? or did the customer buy the paint match fenders?
actually neither. he’s my closest friend and wanted me to try and wrap it as is, wasn’t any guarantee i told him. as the correct way would be to sand, prime, paint then wrap. but wrapped it as is. and it’s actually never lifted even over a year later. which i still can’t believe
i’d recommend to still do it correct. if this was a normal customer i would have never even touched the plastics. if i did they would have been sent out for sand, prime and paint then i’d offer to wrap them
Great work, any the choice of color isn't bad at all, just wondering could you wrap the rear bumper too? Or you intentionally left it out?
would need to be prepped(sanded and primed) since it’s a textured plastic it has no surface energy so wrap won’t stick to it

Wrapping over the hex pattern on the fender trim may come back to haunt you haha
100% told him it might not even last a week since it’s plastic. it was his decision to do it until his color matched ones come in. but the car is getting a wide body soon anyways!

So the black plastics over the wheels are able to be wrapped or did you have to sand them first ?
we’d 100% recommend sanding and priming first so they have a surface energy for the wrap to bond too. we got lucky with the wrap we used. APA is super sticky vinyl wrap so it bonded fine to the plastic. any other brand would have been an issue probably next day
@@cgwraps. awesome planning on buying the same year wrx and I have wrapped a few cars before myself and plan on picking up wrapping again so you don’t think Avery would work because it’s not that tacky on that specific plastic piece ? I wanna do a fully Matte black wrap with some purple plastics probably will be getting the car in January but trying to plan ahead though
@@chase9615 avery might have a harder time for sure to stick to it, it’s easy enough to sand smooth yourself tho. the texture isn’t too bad. maybe 10 mins each piece if that

@@chase9615 i’m not too crazy into the painting game, but another thing to use to promote adhesion would be 3m primer 94 it’s a liquid based adhesive that dries in minutes and bonds amazingly to any vinyl wrap. and thanks man truly appreciate the support. any questions or concerns reach out to us on instagram @cgwraps for a quicker response!
Can you tag the owner?I am interested in wrapping my car but don’t know how the fenders will hold up being that they are plastic now
you’d need to get them sanded and prepped prior to wrap, got lucky with his as the APA wrap material has an extremely high tac so it stuck nice and is lasting as the same day it was installed
Why didnt you show the wrapping of the fender plastic??
it was a last second decision made by the owner when he came to get the car he decided to see if we could try it and see how it will hold up. super simple though should take like 15-20 mins to do all of them really quick

@@teamsynikal38 never had any issues surprisingly. but i’d definitely recommend doing it proper and sanding them down and priming

Question, how many feet of wrap do i need for that car?
we always recommend using 75' for every vehicle. best to have a whole roll then come up short. realistically youll be fine with 60'

all wraps vary. most brands can be anywhere from 3-7 year lifespans. a lot factors into it like how the cars taken care of. what zone you live in, if the cars garages or sits in the sun etc etc

absolutely can, but to find a color matching wrap will be the difficult part, for 100% accuracy i’d recommend having them painted. reply would cost much just to prep and paint the flares

The trunk lid 2 pcs or as whole?
you can do either or, if it has a spoiler it will hide your seam for the most part. or could 1 piece it like really any other trunk
