The Lost Dress Of Queen Elizabeth I - The Bacton Altar Cloth

It is very rare that a piece of clothing belonging to a Tudor monarch exists. There are a few suits of armour inside of the Tower of London that belong to King Henry VIII, and they are huge in their size. One of the suits is intricately engraved with the initials of Henry and his first wife Catherine of Aragon and is decorated with symbols of monarchy and power. But in recent years there was a remarkable discovery made inside of a church in Herefordshire in England, and what was found was a dress that is considered the only surviving dress of Queen Elizabeth I that has lasted roughly 500 years. But what is the story of the lost dress of Queen Elizabeth I?

It looks like it is now a piece of fabric, but in a couple pictures, there are seams making what was a dress into the what, it has been for years! Did you not see the seams?
