@@cbr600rrturbo I had a Fenix that used 2 AA and had one mode, and it ran forever. I had one of their later lights that had around 5 modes and used CR123, and it'd fail to move to a new mode, sometimes fail to power on.. Just made me wary.
My wife got me a Powertac M5 Gen3 for Christmas to replace my old Fenix PD35 TAC after 7 years. It's way more powerful, way more compact and can be charged using a magnetic cable (type C would be even better, but alas). The beam is also much wider and more useful all around. We'll see about durability, but so far it seems pretty well built.
I have the first version PD35 TAC, great great light. It has a locking switch tail cap that you rotate to go from the highest lumen output to lock to a push button that changes lumen on how many time you press the tail cap. Worth it. I bought other accessories like a riffle mounted tail cap and switch, and some different color lens caps(red and green) as well as a bicycle mount and Fenix tactical pouch for the light. Its well worth it IMO.
I only have one fenix TK35 around 800 lumens. That thing has perfect over the last 10 years. Now the same light is triple the power! Definitely want to hear the story about Thrunite. I’ll never buy that garbage again

I used to love Fenix. These days I like less modes, so I try to use lights with 1-3 modes as much as possible.
