Wheel cleaning is simply my favourite part always, it’s just sooooo satisfying! Great stuff Dave, as per usual! 👌🏻🤩👍🏻
Yeah I liked cleaning the wheels this way. Not my normal method but what is normal these days lol
Something very therapeutic seeing dirty wheels being cleaned 😄👌🏼
it certainly is
Hi Dave yet again another good video , it’s so satisfying to clean the wheels 👍🏼👍🏼👏
Thanks mate. It has its moments. Not my normal way of wheel cleaning but definitely a good alternative
Once again another great video Dave 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks Mark. This is footage from months and months ago so gradually getting through it. Desperate to get new footage out with the new cameras 👌
Looks good mate, looking forward to the next one!!👊🏻
Thanks mate got lots of new videos coming this month before I shake things up a bit
Great Video for a Sunday morning 👍loving the Kranzel
Kranzle is lovely to use but honestly just by changing the Lance and trigger it can make a huge difference 👌
Cant beat a cheeky Sunday morning vid. Thank you for all the detail in the description too, really useful 👍
Thanks mate got new format if videos coming soon. Got loads of ore recorded stuff to upload before next month as this car has been use in a few more videos

A product called Elbow Grease is all I've used for deep cleaning the tyres and alloys. Brings old tyres up to new rubber look and strips the alloys of everything an alloy can get on it.
Thanks much for the tip ~ now is finding the spray cleaner locally! not thru amazon
Snow foaming the wheels whilst the wheel cleaner is still on… 😃 never thought of that! Great tip 👍🏼
It does work well. Definitely different method but effective
Hi Dave,at first glance the wheel looks dirty but when it's cleaned it's new.all the products used did a great job.
Thanks mate. It's not my normal method but was interesting to try it
Thanks Dave for another awesome one👌
Thanks mate

But you live in your bubble and enjoy your ignorance.
Thanks for the video Dave 👍. Wheels came up a treat. Must admit I hate cleaning wheels but decent wheel brushes/wheel woolies do make the job so much easier. As you rightly said, it's far better to spend money on a decent pressure washer as opposed to a car dryer when starting up a valeting business.
Thanks Karl it's one of those love hate jobs for me. I like exploring other wheel cleaning options
Hardly a ‘hack’.
Another great vid👌

I dress my tyres once every week or two. I just rinse them down and apply the dressing. Never had any issues and it looks great every time.
Great video Dave, I use p&s brake buster on the wheels and I have some ez detailing brushes, I also got a wo wo drying towel for the wheels, I got all of them from watching your videos and some others on CZcams, keep up the good work 👍👍👍
Thanks mate lots of new products coming in Oct
I’ve got these wheels on my 2010 A6. They look amazing when clean but they build up the dirt very quickly. I find i always miss bits when using just the detailing brush for the faces and mainly miss bits in between the spokes. I used a cheap thin wash mitt on mine. Works well
Nice job Dave, best wheel cleaning video I’ve seen. I’ve using your technique for a few months now and it’s working well
Thanks mate appreciate it
Got these too on my A8 but the Bicolor ones they even look good when they’re dirty 😂 the brake dust has the same color as the inside of the rims.
Hey great vid, not sure if you can help. Im having issues cleaning the alloy wheel protector strip and the nuts on the wheel. its like they are coated in some white sticky stuff and I cant seem to remove it. I can get the alloys clean fine just this white stuff won't come off the nuts and the alloy black plastic protection so its a mix match of white and black. Any ideas? ive used various oil removers and pink leave on sprays to try and get this off but it doesn't seem to work. Any advice would be great. Cheers
I did this one time and said I would not ever do it again. lol I didn’t have all the right cleaning tools but I wouldn’t even try this again if I had everything I needed. Throughly cleaning rims is no joke. Definitely not for the faint of heart. lol
Good video mate 👏
Thank you very much
Great video Dave👍 , I am using p&s brake buster for wheels and tyres one product does it all 😀
Heard few mentions in this may have to try it
Ive recently been watching your vids, im a old git now and find it difficult to clean wheels bent down, so sit on a box or similar ,that helps a lot ,and i have to do wheels one day and car body the next phew !, lol
Thank you beautiful job, I can't do that, where can I take to have it done???
thank
thanks for sharing. nice job! wish the rims been really dirty though to see the big difference! lol
Is Diamond cut a different method. Water under clear coat edges worried about with acid wheel cleaner. I also use TFR and APC
May I know what type of brush you used to clean the arches and the wheels?
Ive been using fallout remover and although its good for alloys ive bought some alloy cleaner so that should help to reduce the usage a little.whats the best way to remove hardened tar spots or really stubborn brake dust degreaser ? Alloys arent perfect its bugging me ha thanks
Thanks Dave for another good video, as an addition I use Bilt Hamber Atom Mac’ to stop surface corrosion on the brake discs. You spend all that time cleaning the wheel and the first time the brakes are used you get a fine layer of brown dust all over the wheel. Obviously you can drive the vehicle to dry the discs off but it’s not always possible. Might be a product to review in the future? Keep up the good work.
Love that idea mate.
Exactly this. Surprised that Dave or other detailers haven't covered this so much.
It may 'not take a lot of effort' but you are spending a lot of time on your knees on the cold ground. every so often I remove my wheels (one by one) and clean them at waist height - it is much more comfortable for me than being at ground level for any length of time. Taking the wheels off gives me the chance to fully inspect the inside of the wheel for corrosion/damage to the alloy/tyre. I usually spray some water onto the wheel, add a little washing up liquid and give it a good scrub with an old pot brush - rinse with clean water - let dry - polish the alloy and use boot polish to tidy the tyre - whether any of this is good for the alloy/tyre I do not know - but it is what I use
Fair play valid point in all honesty this isn't aimed at that level and more for beginners but may be worth a video in the future
Yeah I just cauld not spend that much time bent up like that my knees are shot plus dodgy hip
How many people have the time and equipment to be able to remove their car wheels and re fit them
It's too much work. I pay someone to do it
I have a gravel driveway. It hurts like hell to kneel on it. Simple solution is a hardening kneeling pad. They sell large versions in Halfords for about £6.
What does that "snow foam" stuff do ? To me it does absolutely nothing. You spray it on. Then you have to scrub the surface . Then you hose it off. You do the same with simple car wash soap without all the fussing around with guns and hoses.
Crying living in the flat and be unable to clean my car. If the parking is at least near my building it would be OK, can go up and down with buckets of water. I used to use some spray cleaner and then autoglym polish and extra gloss. It would be great to have clean tyres and wheels! Anyway, I love watching your videos even though I am unable to clean my car 😁
Applying snow foam is always so satysfying to watch.
I've got my hands on a pop up water tank which is like a giant bag that stores water. It may be a faff but you could fill it up (after hard work I know) but it's half the battle. If there's a plug near by it could work. I'm in planning stages with a video to see how it could work so may get a battery pressure washer and see if there is any hope 🙏
@@epicautomotivedetailing unfortunately there is no plug :( and I love to clean car by myself, it just gives me happiness 😊 can you make a video showing how you can clean your car if you don't have the water supply, plug etc? I think it would be so useful for people like me.
@@usables4028 yes 100%

Good beginner video god will grace you pretty good 👍🏽 I’m just a massive fan of ultra wet look (autoglym or meguiars) gloss tyre shine that DOESNT slick.

Awesome video. Is there any recommendation for using a wheel sealant to prevent brake dust baking onto the wheel or is it best just to leave it?
G techniq wheel armour is legendary

Yes mate they are awesome
I know this is a dumb question but are they good on Black Wheels?
Sorry I am talking about the wheel brushes for the black wheels. Also what is a good wheel cleaner for black wheels? Also do you recommend OTC ceramic spray like Turtle Wax for the wheels?

Hello. What do you think about bilt hamber auto wheel cleaner? And then dressing with vpn tyre dressing?
Any tips or review please
I'm bringing bilt hamber to the channel very soon mate new format coming
Good video mate. I’m probably going to try some Yum’s products next, I’ve been using Bilt Hamber autowheels for years and IMO it’s brilliant.
Thanks Steve I love all yum products. people often say its pricey but i managed to get them a discount so it brings price to the same as everyone else.
If my rims are powder coated, is there certain ingredients I should stay away from?
I bought a used motorcycle, but the wheels were pretty dirty. It's aluminium no paint and after some cleaning not all will be removed. Going to try steam next, but maybe you have some advice. Wish i could send a picture here. Best regards.
The best is Dawn Dish soap..... The power pump one. Cuts grease and grime in a heart beat
Hi there, what was that tire application pad you was using please? It looked really sturdy, firm & high quality
yum cars mate
Great information as just started again, i mainly use PH neutral products, if i had to use a stronger cleaner for alloys maybe even acid what would you recommend, keep up the good work.
I use acid now and then mate sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. Only on certain wheel barrel's of course
@@epicautomotivedetailing thank you fot the heads up.
What foam and Lance set up are you using that stuff looks thick man love it
Yum foam mate 👌
I filled a spray bottle with shampoo and water, it works great as a car cleaner. I can see dirt getting removed and for the arches and sides of the wheels, I just use a car sponge foam which I also use for the car body.
Nice one Great Tip :)
Came up good Dave, thx. How did you make the car pink @ 4.30? 😎
Special effects lol
Muckoff pink bike spray works a treat
Alloy wheel scuffs must be the most irritating thing there is par a flock of birds shitting post wash. Top vid!
Yes Dave amazing video mate!! Quick question mate... do you recommend TFR?
Yes, absolutely it has its place within the industry. No i don't recommend it for every single car but when you do cheaper valets on cheaper cars then it totally makes sense
I'm contemplating starting a car cleaning business and have been watching loads of your videos, I think I'm learning. What's your view on using steam cleaner for the wheels and in general?
It never works mate. I've had to resort to steam on few occasions and time isn't on your side for exterior steam cleaning unfortunately 😟
@@epicautomotivedetailing ok thanks for replying, appreciate that . I noticed you hadn't really used a steam cleaner. Sorry, One more question, is there a universal product for all types of alloy? I hear talk of different coatings etc.
Great video thank you dude ! Where did you get your brushes from please
Thank you. Yum cars
Good afternoon Dave, please can you give me some advice. I have just purchased an immaculate VW golf with 18 inch anthracite alloys. However they have some brown brake dust stains. I have used non acidic alloy wheel cleaner, citrus pre wash but can’t shift the stains. I don’t want to ruin the wheels with TFR or anything caustic. Please help
Hiya mate have you tried a fallout remover? instagram them and ill take a look
Love the videos. Really helpful. I'm new to "proper car cleaning" so I'm definitely looking to learn. I just happened to come across a super cheap iron fallout cleaner in Home Bargains - the AA Bleeding Wheels. I think it's priced at £1-2. Was wondering if you've ever used it, what was your opinion and is it that cheap for a reason?? Either way I'm suspicious.
Some products have a shelf life so when they get past it they may just want to shift the last remaining bottles if they sat around for years.
How do you prevent the brake pads sticking to the disks after being saturated?
Great videos and exactly what i was looking for. Will the products affect the grass if the water runs on to the lawn?
Snowfoam is ok but wheel cleaner would probably harm the grass
@@epicautomotivedetailing thanks for the reply. Would you recommend any of the detailing courses?
Is Yum Citrus APC safe to use on alloys that have been ceramic coated?
Yes
Where would you recommend the wheel caliper brush from just dont want to buy ebay ?
Yum cars mate (the very best)
Love it. I’m out tomorrow even though I’m working from home. Clothes washed, house run over, tumble dryer and tea and coffee and all through this work and the car, the bloody car is getting decontaminated, it was power washed tonight by me in a garage, it’s getting snow foamed, de contamination and washed again and then ceramic sprayed and buffed, all before tea time. Edit, that’s not a joke, there’s 2500 km on it. New in January and needs to be born again. I have paint brushes at the ready. 3rd edit is I’m using my karcher even though I washed it earlier in the garage with power wash, it had loads of muck on it and under wheel arches. Cars going to be really clean this Easter
Nice one I'd love to clean my car this weekend. On dad duty though so no chance
Please can you put a link up as to were you got the cleaning pads from for the tyres please
Great video
Yum cars . use code EPIC for 10% off 👌
@@epicautomotivedetailing nice one👍
Do you recommend I clean my tyres/alloys then dry them and apply yum dress before I carry out the pre wash and contact wash?
No save dressing tyres till very last
So literally start with the cleaning of the tyres/alloys, pre wash, contact wash then final dry of car and tyres then apply the dress
Best detailed wheel coean method i have ever seen but for me to do that just not possible way to long bent down not physically possible

Will tyre dress help protect the tyre from UV damage?
Some do. Some that contain sio2 will do
Do you agitate the alloy spray once on or after its gone purple? No access to a pressure wash, yet or snow foam cannon
Hiya agitation once dwelled. I'm experimenting with something different soon for people to wash their car without a pressure washer
@Epic Automotive Detailing cheers Dave, think that was my idea i messaged you on Instagram 😂😂👍🏼
But what’s a set of clean alloys if they are covered in kerb marks 😔 that first kerb always takes a while to get over, something like a relationship break up.
can u use citrus pre wash on alloy wheels?
Yes you can if it's for regular cleans. Citrus isn't strong enough for brake dust but it will remove a good portion of dirt
Hi, why has the inside of alloys gone orange after you have dried? mine did the same today. Help!!
It's just what happens when water touches it. Just run car forward and tap the brakes and it's all gone
What pressure washer do you use"
I have quite a few. Ava p80, p70, nilfisk p180, karcher 7125. All of them are great. We have some in different locations right now.
Hi there, I’ve just cleaned my car for the 4th time , new driver, used auto glam custom wheel cleaner again used this 4 times and problem, but 2day 1 of my back wheels peeled abit, was getting metal particles just flaked off 😤 I know it’s not the autoglym well I hope not, and pressure washer not very powerful at all, question is it just because their almost 12 year old or is it something I’ve done, I cleaned them quickly so I dint leave the product on too long, another question lol should I sand the affected areas down?. Sorry for bothering u.
I would say poorly sprayed alloys or pressure washer being held too close for long periods of time would of done that my friend
@@epicautomotivedetailing ok thanks for the reply 👍
As suggested, they have likely been repainted at some point and the cleaning fluid and pressure washer have speeded up the process of releasing the paint. If they were original finish, then at 12 years depending on how the car was stored, would also be close to time for a refurb. There is no recovery from the shedding paint, other than having them refurbished. Depending on which part of the country, prices range from about £50 per wheel upwards depending on finish. From experience I would avoid the smart repairs on wheels as they look good initially, but the finish does not last as well as a complete strip and repaint or powder coat.
@@mfordy1056 nice one 👍 I will get it refurbed 👍 thank you for the info 👍👍
Snie fime? What would that be in the colonies?
Nice video Dave. One question. I have a number of clients with Mercs and Audis with those very open spoke layout. I generally take 75 minutes just to clean the wheels. How can I speed up the processes? A $90 maintenance wash is taking 2-3 hours with travel on topic of that! Lloyd
wheel woolies are the best for cleaning spoke wheels
how do you deal with tire blooming??
I have a tyre conditioner that penetrates into the tyre and in time massively improves it 🙌
I’ve got a problem when cleaning my rims. I have many spokes and after cleaning and rinsing them i still get dirty water dripping and then being left on the rims inside. How do i avoid this??
car dryer mate
@@epicautomotivedetailing will try that!
Certainly no problems with water shortage where you live! :-)
Did the car change colour at 4:30 or did my eyes trick me?
It's your eyes lol 👀. Just special effect for a transition
Good tips given!, I’m actually starting to think I can tackle a clean and detail on my BMW from your clips but still scared as heck I’m going to make a “cock up”
The good thing about most cock ups is you can fix them. Seriously don't sweat about it your probably surprise yourself just how simple it is 👌
Laurie, if you’ve never done this before make a list of everything that needs doing in the order it needs to be done. Double check it before you start, it’s really easy to miss a particular stage when you’re engrossed in cleaning. Good luck, have fun.
Had a lady ask me to do a full correction and coating for $20 I wasn’t even mad dude just hurt
Jeez that's insane. Some people are just like that in this world.
I don't like shiny tire and same goes for most of my customers. a water based dressing can be diluted and still provide lister and shine so no need to dry the tire. you can apply many dressings to wet tires and by the time you wipe and level it all with your applicator. it's not like its dripping all over. . I apply dressing to wet tires right after the final rinse. them by the time I dry the car and apply a topper or sealant, the tires are dry and protected. dry the wheels. tires no need. unless you're planning on driving off immediately. most detailers are detailing a car that will stay in that same spot for hours so this saves time. not drying the tires. just use a water based dressing and it'll all dry evenly in the sun and air
why is the wheel cleaner purplish surely that’s a iron/fallout remover instead of an actual wheel cleaner. from my experience i’m sure you only use the iron/fallout remover after you cleaned wheels to get rid any of those grim or road dirt that still lies behind?
This is a bit of both, active wheel cleaners here in the UK are all going this way, the combination of gel formula and fallout helps clean due to longer dwelling
Wirh the rip off cost of all cleaning products I suspect it may be cheaper in the long run to get the wheels re furbed and then clean them weekly with a car shampoo. 😅
I wouldn't say it's a rip off. I recently had to put the brakes on my own products because the cost of raw materials to make products is staggering, you then have labels, bottles, caps, triggers and shipping. And then running costs of a facility, boxes, packaging and also tax. Trust me the only people getting ripped off are the people who dedicate their lives to make the products. I experienced it first hand
@@epicautomotivedetailing I dont disagree. Its alarming though how expensive keeping your car looking good is becoming. Its lust like life!
@@michaelwhelan564 honestly it's not looking good sadly ☹️
Every time you make a video recently it has been raining! haha. Unlucky... Secondly my son thinks I look like you.

Holy rashed wheels, Batman. I suggest being more careful whilst parking.
Need another garage to store wheel cleaning crap in!.
Lol I know the feeling. just use alkaline wheel cleaner
Would look a lot better if the wheels weren't scrubbed!
Such is life
That’s the easy way !???
Go watch a recent video I made on touchless washing. There are products that you can spray and rinse away that do actually work but there are some drawbacks
For me, personally, citrus cleaner isn't better than an APC .
It is in terms of being safer but yes I totally get where you are coming from. For most people they are happy with heavy duty wheel cleaners and to be honest I think I am too since making this
Tip, Take your car round the block once or twice to dry out the brakes otherwise they could stick to the rotor 🇦🇺
Easy😂😂😂🤣
Yep easy
Where was the easy part?
In the Thumbnail
There is the school of thought that recommends not to use water to remove the loose dirt at the beginning of washing the wheels as the iron fallout remover will not be as effective as water has the effect of neutralizing the iron fallout remover. So unless the iron fallout remover is used in it’s full strength or undiluted, and sufficient time is allowed for the chemical to do it’s thing, as soon as you spray the snow foam, the iron fallout remover will have become neutralized and ineffective from there on in. The snow foam will still act as a lubricant though.
I see what your saying but can You imagine what would happen if I didn't rinse that wheel???
I would be bombarded with comments such as (oh no your scratching the wheels because you didn't remove the dirt first) even though they are wrecked.
And also I'd have to deal with critical bellends saying (oh no your wasting product) I seriously can't win with anybody in here 🤷♂️ .
It's all about exploring loads of different methods in every single video that's what makes the content fresh and this video got this method...
Total overkill in my opinion I can clean my alloys and inner arches in tiptop fashion for a fraction of the cost. This version costs a fortune to carryout on regular basis it may work that’s not in dispute tho
I agree now. I was just following ridiculous trends. To be honest I couldn't care less if I used wheel acid these days
It seems to me that there's way to much effort for such worn out tires...
its just a demonstration dude... its all the about the process
Mislabelled video in my view. If this is what it takes, forget it. If you are that obsessive, I get it, but life is short and I’d rather be driving the thing.
My apologies will look into changing it 🙏🙏🙏
