by having no blow off valve you slow down the turbine between gear changes because the air rushes backwards through the turbo and it has to spool a bit again
Real simple guys, only point of a bov/wastegate is to release charged air from the piping when throttle is closed and also on some applications control peak boost pressure, when charged air is not releaved properly it surges back into the turbo making thst flutter you hear, which is not good for the turbo..the compressed air has to go somewhere.
@YezZzirQC A wastegate is where exhaust is vented in order to bypass the exhaust wheel in a turbo. It controls the flow of exhaust through the turbo, which in turn controls the amount of boost the turbo is creating.
No blow off valve= compression surge. Compression surge is the air that the turbo created, going right back through the turbo (which in long run, will break the fins on the turbo). Blow off valve releases that pressure so it does not go back through the turbo. And you can get turbo flutter with a BOV. When friend doesn't build full boost and shift, his HKS SSQV flutters because it does not open fully. (sounds similar to this Skyline, but not near as loud)
i like the view looking out the back window, gives a realistic feel of what that car is like, beast, a bit laggy but awesome non the less, put a billet turbo on it and make a responsive 900whp

1119 hp is alot of power and a lot of fun. i was watching this doc a while back about the tuner in japan is very good with supra and skyline. they talk about they tune a 800 skyline beating a 1000hp skyline. i guess tunner makes a difference not just big hp.

That high pitched duvduvduv isnt a bov there isnt one installed on the turbo, the sound is from the air going through the fans of the turbo
