The Chinese-Mexican one was such a good opportunity. I imagine tacos with Szechuan style beef would be amazing. Or any meat with five spice. The possibilities were endless.

Humility is so important, you could see that with the first fusion challenge. Everyone who was so sure and like, yeah easy my dish will be awesome, sucked. Juliette who thought she would suck did have the best dish in the end. Because she tried the hardest because it was something new for her and she didn't just take it easy. Awesome job 👏

Im pretty suprised by them saying india/mexican food is hard. Just make Chicken Tikka Burritos. They both are spicy so they would go so well together
Same here! If anything, these two cuisines appeared the most parallel to each other. They have many flavour profiles which complement each other.
Which is exactly why it's a bad match. Use your brain. It's like having to paint a picture only out of light blue and medium blue.
Red kidney beans, rice, curd/sour cream, chickpeas, paprika, bell peppers, cumin…the possibilities are endless
Or use naan bread in place of tortillas

i've noticed anytime a chef is like "man idk what im gonna fkn do here" they end up having the best dish its almost poetic lol
I would've killed to have a combo of Chinese/French fusion. That genuinely screams duck with beurre blanc infused with Szechuan peppers or some kind of chili oil.

It's kind of funny in Season 5 that Giovanni failed to cook rice properly on both his Signature Dish and the Fusion Food Challenge. I could imagine Clients tasting his Italian Risottos.

Latin and Chinese fuses well. There are a lot of Chinese/Latin fusion restaurants in the Americas.
I always roll my eyes whenever someone says they only eat "American food"... or like my dad "Only eat Australian food"... Chances are VERY high that something you eat originated with another cuisine. French fries (Belguim), Pizza (italy), Mac and cheese (Pasta - Italy)... Bacon and Eggs on Toast (England), etc.

nah I'm Indian and I've made plenty of fusion Indian and Mexican dishes. it's absolute fire. Indian and Mexican have a lot of similarities, naan/paratha to tortilla, salsa to chutney, beans to beans, and a lot of spice blends are similar too. I really don't get why they thought that was an odd combo.
