Thank you for demonstrating how to use the hand saw and miter box. I have some power tool saws but I'm nervous to use them because I have an irrational fear of sawing my fingers off. But it really limits me and my creativity because I want to create frames and other woodworking projects. This is doable for me now because I see how y'all are doing it. Thank you.

I love everything about this! The side molding on the tv really makes it look authentic. The molding and the fireplace are perfect. I saw the fireplace insert looks like shutters. I think that would make a good video. Also how u style your shelves and surfaces would be fun to see. I love to see people appreciate and lean into the charm and character rather than ripping it out and doing open floor plans. They ruin the character of an old home in my opinion. Love your channel!

Doing wall treatments ( brick veneer, new backsplash in my kitchen and tin ceilings in all rooms). I’ve been starting my backyard right now, getting ready to make it an edible garden. Just finished redoing my living room as well and I cannot decide on furniture either. For the time being I have ordered slipcovers for some chairs that we already have while I keep my eyes open. Would love to find an antique mantle.

Wow- I watched your vid on decorating for Christmas and had no idea what the room looked like before!! I especially like the frame for the tv. I have been looking at various youtube videos on dressing up existing frames with rub n' buff, but I like the stain first, then coat with rub n' buff technique you did with moulding. Really first rate!

I was told by a floor finisher to wet the wood and let it sit overnight before staining and it will stain evenly.
The gaps you had on the frame work were so small that if you had rubbed a nail side ways on the corners it would have blended the cuts just a tip from a fan😊

Girl it all came out so wonderful! Going in and out is exactly why we haven't done a frame yet for our TV! Using the miter box is a brilliant and helps me now knowing it will cut through that! I still don't love using power saws! And have been wanting a miter box! I have to ask what is the mesh tape you used on the dry wall? Do you feel it was easier than the typical paper tape? I'm so tired of fooling with the paper tape!
Girl, you can do it!! I also get nervous about the miter saw. It’s the only of our power tools I’ve been too nervous to use, but one of these days I’ll get over my fear and try my hand. That’s actually the only tape we’ve used for drywall projects, I don’t what the difference is but I think it has something to do with the mud being able to get into the mesh holes?
@@KrystaMeeker yes every time I use the saw I'm like ok where's the husband he needs to be right there to spot me and double check I'm doing it ok and then most of the time i just have him do the cut for me😅 other tools don't bother me just the saws. Heard too many horror stories. I'll get over it some day but I also know I'm a bit of a space cadet 🤣 I'm going to look for and use that tape when we mud our garage walls! Looks like it will much a much smoother finish

We have a small 34” I think tv I would like to mount on the front of a China cabinet, just wondering how to attach it. The cabinet is more of a cube style and the tv can’t be attached to the wall? I love your home and will have to check out you other shows.
What was the height you used for the chair rail? Is that standard for all ceiling heights as well? Or should it be adjusted if you have shorter ceilings?

I still don't understand how you get art in the TV frame. Does it come with the TV?
There are free videos on CZcams! Just search vintage art tv and you should come across lots of options. I don’t leave them on all the time but I will if I’m hosting guests. 😊
