- This is a short history of Donald Cargill and the story of Cargill's Leap in Perthshire, Scotland. Donald Cargill made a dashing escape from Royalist Troops by jumping across the river Ericht in the 17th century. He was wanted for treason against King Charles the Second whom he wanted to be excommunicated. Follow the exploits of this man from Rattray who took on the establishment for his beliefs and his rights to express them as he pleased.

Great coverage and thank you for sharing. As good as any televised history programme.
Thank you Mark. Your compliments made my day 🏴🤙
A great insight for all. Thank you for sharing. Brought back many childhood memories along the river including making the leap on a hot sunny day. Its a shame that the kids still feel it necessary to graffiti the sign explaining part history but good to see the new foot bridges intact.
Thank you buddy, much appreciated. As a kid I did some dumb things too, but as an adult you just think why!! I’m tempted to go along with some white spirit and clean the graffiti off, Im surprised no one else has decided to do the same.
Another enjoyable insight into Scotland and it's history.
Thanks Craig. I never knew the story of Donald Cargill other than jumping the leap until I did research. Did you ever attempt it bud?
@@mackieoutdoors9410 Foolishly I did and thankfully made it. But was a stupid thing to do.
@@craigartphilip5050 it’s the kinda thing kids did back in the day, crazy looking back though.
I am reading Maurice Grant’s biography of Donald Cargill (No King But Christ, 1988) and decided to search him online and discovered your CZcams. Thank you! This is lovely and well done.
Needing more content buddy miss your videos!
Hey buddy, how are you? At the end of October, highlander filming locations part three should be completed and ready to watch. I have many plans for further content, it’s just been one of those years where either the weather has not played ball at the weekends and a busy life/work schedule has made it difficult to get out and about.
Hi dene, yeah I understand buddy!!, life’s busy at times haha and the weather has been horrid lately lol.
Look forward to the new videos :).
Just back from the highlands with the wife and kids stayed in a place called Embo right next to Dornoch absolutely beautiful views mate and makes you feel at home it’s a strange feeling!
Had you in my head funny enough while I was on way there funnily enough!

Take care bud!
@@EVOLLOVEx I thought it was you buddy 😆🤙. Dornoch, a place I’ve visited and stayed many times, beautiful part of Scotland. We were there a few months back but is rained the whole time, which puts a dampener on any holiday, I hope the weather was kind to you and your fam. Have you considered doing videos and taking to the camera on things that interest you?
Found you on tiktok
Thanks for subscribing buddy, remember to press the bell notification. Did you find the Highlander vids ok? If not, just look down my video list 🤙

Will you be making more videos?
Yes buddy, for sure. Why do you ask? I’ve just been busy recently, but there’s more to come ❤️
Good stuff , keep it going the algorithm will catch more viewers
@@boba2783 thank you Bob, much appreciated 🤙
I was watching Monty pythons holy grail and thought that would be a good location project video
@@boba2783 yes it would be. I’ve actually been in several locations from that movie in Glencoe. In the movie Highlander which I’ve done two videos on, apparently a part of the Monty python movie was filmed where Connor and Heather have their home.
What’s the TikTok handle? Enjoy these vids. Didn’t know could watch more on TT.
Thanks buddy. It’s deneboy1 in tiktok 🤙
