Boss 08 "Ravana"

- So apparently this boss has two forms:
Form 01: Stealth Mode
Guessing game! I was ok on my guesses.
Form 02: Devour Mode
Basically puts you in some "Hunger" status which hurts yourself while you have no control.. pretty cheesy although Sera can remove that status once per round.
I had to be a little defensive because I have no idea what the boss could do, hence I nuke then make sure everyone had full HP.

White form looks like a Starman from Earthbound,no?
DDS's animation for Agidyne makes me happy.
I liked using Repel spells during the 2nd form. It dealt very good damage. In fact, I believe he finished himself off!

This fight is bizarrely slow, even for turn-based RPG standards. His first form is fine, in that it represents your team bunched up in the center of the room while an invisible foe takes hit-and-run swipes at you, but the second phase is just slooooow. The boss's animations are really weirdly sluggish, with his normal attack taking like four seconds and his casting animations lasting twice as long as they need to. Then there's how long you need to wait for Sera to run to your party then back again
Its him and Bats last battle with his stupid wind of DOOM attack...Mostly all the rest void/reflect/and absorb like you said...I like playing trial and error and that usually means I die a few times on bosses until I try all the routes but I suppose that would suck while recording =/
Good grief. Well, from what I'm seeing this game has enough to make you scream.
Would it be possible to cheese the first form with hit-everyone attacks like the Ma spells, or would that say there’s nothing to target?
Either Infinite Wind is actually Almighty element, or Argilla has Resist Force equipped.
I find most of the time the reflect shields suck since getting hp sounds alot better and also wastes more turns but this boss actually can get hurt by his own attacks for once....So most of the time when I use zan reflect he ends up killing himself

Heh, I was thinking it may have been like a combination of poison and rage (so you'd take damage every turn and randomly attack), but the hunger in this game is equally annoying :P

do u kno a good place to grind atma to fast lvl ur characters' mantras? cuz i am struggling with getting more skills
Train everyone to have devour skills and split AP to master atma faster.
Always a good tough storyline battle, though he's nowhere near as hard as Vritra in DDS2...
Infinite Wind is powerful, but you can Repel it back in his face for big damage, since he's not immune to his own attack.
He supposed have 9 heads

How come use didn't spells like Maragion or Mazan to attack all of them at once?
I was asking that back in Nocturne when he was fighting Ongyo-Ki. I assume whatever penalty you get for doing that applies here too
Doing so will result in 1 hit while the rest will miss, and you'll lose an extra icon beside the one you used up.
This is just as annoying as those Camaztoz battles! DX

After beating him up a bit, he curses your named, proclaims himself as Colonel Beck, and transforms into one of the oddest sequences I have EVER seen....
