  • The Warning is a rock band from Monterrey, Mexico, consisting of three sisters: Daniela, Paulina, and Alejandra Villarreal. They gained popularity through their CZcams channel, where they posted covers of classic rock songs and eventually began showcasing their original music. The band's style is characterized by energetic performances, powerful vocals, and impressive musicianship.

Quinn from Freeze The Fall literally watched the Lunario concert when she was 11, connected with Ale, got a Jackson guitar, and started teaching herself guitar by learning Dany's parts in Queen Of The Murder Scene. Now FTF is inspiring young girls.

They SHINE in these situations, as HUMANS!!, as real people. Pau said she felt it was "Weird" that people felt they knew her as a person; that came, and comes, from them opening up on social media, and interviews. Think of all the vlogs they gave us, especially the covid years,, sure, they can try to always show the "good" side, but , in a familiar setting the real person will always show. I am glad you showed this, even tho i've seen it multiple times.

Very good point on their arrangements. Listening to other bands sometimes you hear a part to the song and you think this would fit better in a different place. I've NEVER felt that in ANY of their songs. Such masterful songwriting. Great reaction!! Thanks!!

    Great response.
I've said elsewhere, unlike the frequent norm in deals with labels... DPA and their parents where not looking at performing as a way out of povery. The label was at the table for seven months because The Warning were not jumping at the flash of cash.
It was a good deal for both sides in terms of content benefit but DPA walked away from the process intact. The simple measure of the fact they are not "indentured to", but "partners with" Lava is how much access to their new material is made available for fans and others before the vinyl is pressed and how much DPA respect their fans. One of the biggest contributions this band will make to music is how new talent can create and control their own package before offering it up to partners. The major thing Jason Flom and Lava will contribute is how to meet talent on equal terms and create a truely WIN/WIN outcome for all.
Kudos to all involved in this landmark time in rock music. This will create changes beyond sound.

And here I was, assuming their label pressured this album out of TW, foisted unwanted co-writers and a one-trick producer on them to hurry the process, and basically wore the band down to where they finally said 'f*ck it, print it'. Hence, a likeable, not loveable album that feels a little forced and detached.
Like 'The Spaghetti Incident?' without the covers.
I'm glad this wasn't the case!

@StepnieW okay, let's go back and re-read..."Here I was assuming..." (making an assumption)
'Speculation' can be defined as an 'assumption' (there's that word again
🤔) or guess without any formal evidence. So, you kinda answered your own question, while you were asking it!
Point#2, I would never "say things about TW!" I was speculating (there's that word again🤔) about a situation they may have found themselves in...FYI, as people, artists, and a band, I hold them in the highest regard.
And finally, about my butt, I will paraphrase Will Smith from the 2022 Oscar's, and kindly ask you to keep my butt out your damn mouth! And have a nice day.

@@78MustangThanks for your response. Your understanding of the industry is well informed. It just happens that three sisters came along who had no "need" for long term label obligations and simply wanted to play their music.
They talk about wanting to learn from others and to grow beyond being a cover band and topliners in the creative process.
They make no secret of their sense that the band is their business and they approach it in a business like way.
When they launched Keep Me fed Jason Floom came down to LA to personally introduce them in the private launch at the Whiskey.
MTV's Push, Pepsi's backing, first Latin American band signed to a major US label etc... shows that the industry is hitching its' wagon to The Warning rather than the traditional talent role of begging for a label to pick them up. Their profile in the rock scene grows incrementally and they learn and grow with it.
I look forward to seeing more reflections from you.

@@78Mustang Just an add on to my other comment... Most of the fans of the warning, affectionately called The Warning Army are positive and polite in their interactions with reaction channels and each other. That said, the more DPA grow the more loose ends they will find trailing along.
One has to wonder what makes those like StephieW think they have the right to demand evidence etc... I found the Warning by default because I was actually doing an academic paper on reaction channels and choose some music sources to listen to as a way to monitor and gauge the reactions and the responses to them. I don't consider myself a "fan" of any performer but that doesn't mean not respecting or admiring them.
Some people need to "live through" the object of their fandom and that has proven to be the kiss of death for a lot of talent. The need some people have for talent to not evolve or branch out or otherwise change has plagued the likes of Shirley Temple and a host of others.
It ends up tainting the self appointed critic's interactions with other fans or non fans who are exploring the music because the critic needs their personal belief confirmed.

Even the latecomers from 2020 got to know The Warning before they "hit it big" and had the time to go back into their history and find out all about the early years. That is probably why most of us older fans feel like Uncles and Aunts, and Grandparents. Protective to a fault!!

Can’t say that for this one I need to have them get back to that special telepathy. I wonder if that will ever happen again. They, unfortunately, do not have the luxury of time, to do this on their own....gotta pay the bills, and when you turn production over to a third party, what do you think they were going to say....we're not thrilled with it, but we're happy enough?! I am not a musician but from your explanations of toplining I get that Anton had already predetermined cadence and duration of each song before DPA heard anything about it. I believe that the band had much more input into the songs than just taking essentially set drum samples and filling in the blanks with lyrics. That may not be how you intend it but my own background is very literal.

    • @glennandadriansrocktalk
      @glennandadriansrocktalk  Před měsícem +1

I was just defining toplining itself, since it may be a new idea for some. We don't really have enough info to know exactly how it went on this album, and it may have differed with each song. It could be he started with something and then it went through a lot of changes from their input during the process. And with several different songwriters, it's possible they didn't topline everything and that it was just one of the processes used.
