      The fact is, it has never been more affordable nor more easy to produce creative videos with very high quality. The Warning know this. MTV should work with music companies to get bands to do creative videos as promotions. A lot of us who watched in the 1980s would watch again, if the content were as good as *Que Mas Quieres* or *Six Feet Deep.*

    An excellent little fall back to refer people to when they say no one "lets" Ale' talk.
    This is a great data bit and introduces them nicely to more of the world. Ale's T-Shirt gives a broad suggestion that is mentioned in other interviews and doc's.

    This is a good sign for MTV. They could not find a better band to feature than The Warning. Ale is a true Introvert. Dany is the most extroverted, loving the spotlight. Pau is the creative - assertive and structured, analytical and restless, a motormouth, but not necessarily socially. She might PRESENT as an extrovert, but she's a deep thinker. They complement each other tremendously well. They play to and with each others' strengths. As a band they are lucky and fortunate, mostly as the result of hard work with their great support team of parents, manager, and all their other support people. They truly understand the concept of TEAM.

    Such a great interview. Lots of insight & personality. & yes, checking out all the songs they referenced would be a great series or even just 1 video for each person with clips of their choices. & also yes, Pau is a big classical fan. I’d never bet against her in“name that tune, classical edition”. She’s also mentioned Clair de lune as a favorite in other interviews (which makes sense from a pianist)

I remember hearing Siamese Dream when I was 11 years old, I fell in love with Smashing Pumpkins then someone told me about Gish, and I was blown away by it. I can't imagine just now discovering The Warning and then realizing they have 3 other previous full-length albums full of amazing songs. This band has an embarrassment of riches. I do hope that the next album has less co-writing, tho. I'd love to see more sophisticated songwriting like 23, Z, and Disciple, but incorporating the new sounds and styles from KMF.

    I find it really interesting and funny that Pau's main theme or reference is always death or leads to death. That's the case with writing, explaining the meaning of the song in interviews, and it's her biggest fear. Which then logically leads to all this.
    I think in general this is especially the case with creatively gifted people, simply because they invest more time in philosophizing and thinking in general than people who are less creative.
    It is also these kinds of people who often think about suicide. They are much more susceptible to it. This can be seen in the many artists who do not take good care of themselves and died. The girls have no problems with that. They have themselves and their safe environment.

    Two things I found out when I read the credit booklet of my Pau cover (also have Dany, Ale & Full cover) cd of *"Keep Me Fed"* album.
    😢 - Ale wasn't credited of singing backup on any track. Two guest backup vocalist sang backup on Automatic Sun.
    😢 - Pau never sang lead on any track. Backup - yes. Lead - no.
    😢 - None of the ladies played keyboards on this album.
    Maybe that's why I don't really care for this album. It was the producers, Anton DeLost, album. Since he produced it. Engineered, co-wrote & credited playing guitars & other instruments on every track.

Much appreciation to you Glenn for continuing to bring us more Warning BTS and interviews...they are always interesting. Great point BTW, we all hope they are not rushed into the next album, mind you this is a great album for sure, but given time they will write some fabulous music for us...ie:, QOTMS, XXI century Blood, Error, they are more than capable to produce more exquisite music for us given some time....can't wait!! It's interesting to hear them talking about the co-writing, which says that they've got a bit of a commercial push behind them, and that's what tends to come with the territory. You can hear it in the new material which is very direct and hooky. It's something that's worked out very well for a lot of bands, but it always leaves a bit of a taste of artistic compromise, and some bands have lived to deeply regret it. I've known a couple of people who basically felt like they were getting pushed out of the process of making their own music. It can break up bands. Even The Monkees wanted to write their own songs before very long. It's interesting how wide their taste in music, most having nothing in common with the music they make as a band, and most of which I would never listen to. I expect they will eventually get round to solo projects or something more introspective.

It's certainly seems like this album has been more focused on Danny being a singular lead singer and they're not being any or many co singing songs or nearly as many harmonies. • @CERoyo
    @CERoyo Před 9 dny +1

    I liked Keep Me fed very much. It's another no-skip album from The Warning. If I have to nitpick, I'll say that I could have done without the overuse of voice effects, compression, or whatever it is they did that made Dany's voice sound different in some songs. But there's always the live versions to do away with that, and this band eventually puts out live versions of most of their songs. The other nitpick is song length. Most are too short. You have a killer outro riff and you only play one bar? Come on! Play the Automatic Sun outro 2 or 3 or 4 extra bars, Enter Sandman style. Or at the very least, play extended outros when you play live. Regarding one of the songs Ale mentions on this video, The Warning did a rock version of Nelly Furtado's Maneater in the cave. On CZcams there is a short snippet of it, but I don't know if the whole song is included in a longer video, or if it's available on Instagram or Facebook.

    As an old fan I don't have a problem with the new songs, it's just these new songs would be much better if the production were on point, and it's simply not, i.e. _Sharks_ is brilliant but why the whining power tool sound in the beginning of the song???, It's annoying and unrelated to anything in the song. Everything producer David Bendeth did with Error was so tasteful, I _really really_ hope they bring him back for the next one.

    • @glennandadriansrocktalk
      @glennandadriansrocktalk  Před 8 dny +5

      I hear you - that's a common concern. I like Bendeth's production; that whole process was also superior in a lot of ways - particularly the endless amount of time they had to work, and the fact the band created every sound used on the record, which wasn't the case here. Delost provided most of each track on the album and seems to have worked independently, with the band giving feedback on his contributions. I think a major problem was the lack of time allotted to recording the album, possibly to avoid downtime when the band could be making money, and this also meant Delost probably had more leeway than he might have otherwise had to make creative decisions just to see what the band would say about them - and of course there's a deadline involved. Given all this, I think the album came out incredibly well. It is catchy, granted I'm not a fan of everything Delost did but I still think it plays well. I'm always going to prefer their live performances - that's where the magic can always be found.

    • @bapbernardo
      @bapbernardo Před 8 dny +3

      After listening some times to all the songs in the new album, I can say that QotMS remains my favorite one from them, followed by XXICB and Error, and I think it will be so until their contract with their recording company and their workaholic routine keeps on. Their hectic schedule doesn't allow them to sit down and write the complex lyrics with tailor-made melodies we've been used to listen and enjoy very much. I think they are in this 'hell' we 'call a dream' and I just wish they were back to Earth, to live life more, have new experiences and bring us fresh songs out of that. In this new album, I hear lots of influences from the likes of Three Days Grace, Halestorm, Muse and Royal Blood, who they'd been touring with. Don't get me wrong: KMF is a very good album (not a bad or 'skip' song there for me), and I think it's better than the latest albums released by the bands I've just mentioned. But something about overproduction - the heavy synth-like effects on the vocals, guitar and bass - the rushed creative processes, other people writing the lyrics with them, although good for DPA as musicians - as they were given the opportunity to work with some of the best creative minds on the métier -, took away something out of that rawness, I can even say 'purity', we were used to get from them through their music. Perhaps I had some high expectations which couldn't be met as I wished and looked forward to, or maybe these songs will be great after seeing them performed live or after more listening and time. Now I just hope the music industry and the business don't corrupt the essence of our beloved Mexican power trio and may they continue on their journey to stardom! Given my considerations, I wish the best things for DPA and their staff! May they keep on rockin' hard!

      I think many people are too quick to blame Anton DeLost for everything they don't like. Unless the sisters come right out and tell us, no one knows how much is DeLost and how much is the sisters. I'm sure he gave them ideas, but I have no doubt they had the final approval of the entire process. Ideas were thrown against the wall, but DPA decided what stuck. The Warning is not some Frankenstein monster created by a mad scientist. Too many fans want to tinker with their music instead of just letting it be what it is.
