  • Skx k vs j the age old question that has been answered many times. Skx007 will be the same story. Marc at Long Island Watch covered this topic the best I think.

    Treated myself to a Christmas present and bought a Seiko 009skxJ from Marc at Long Island Watch. Marc is outstanding. He changed the crystal for me to Sapphire. Replaced the bezel to solid blue ceramic with lume, and swapped out the chapter ring to blue. Then I installed a Hexad watch band to make it more beefier. Now that's my kind of watch!!

  • @BlueSkyGuitar2
    @BlueSkyGuitar2 Před 6 lety +6

    Yup, French as a second language. Have the SKX009J myself, also ordered from Marc at LIW. The J model was a personal preference and something I wanted to have in the collection. I really do like seeing the "Made in Japan" on the dial, and the case finishing is indeed a little nicer - but otherwise hard to tell the difference from K models. Though it may not justify the $40-50 price bump for some, I feel it was worth it.

  • @bigfootsburneraccount9160

    I think thr 21 jewels text makes the dial more balanced

    The only difference is that retailers charge more for the J. That makes people think there must be a difference and then they convince themselves that there is. Retailers are taking advantage of people because of this. If everyone just opted to buy the K, the J's would eventually come down in price and cost as much as the K's. Like they should.

    The difference between the K and the J is negligible. Still, for sentimental reasons I got the 007J. My youngest was “Made In Japan” - so to speak 😬 - while we were living there so I wanted the MIJ dial. The compelling argument against the J is cost, but I was able to get one for the same price as a K from a vendor in Singapore with the help of a discount code, so that was a wash. Will add a 009 to the collection eventually, probably the K...unless I can find a J for the same price as the K again.

  • @DrFrankLondon

    The K version you where you checked the second language , it had German and not Spanish. Haven't noticed a huge difference between the J models and the K models. Some small finishing details, and as you pointed out, the marking on the dial.

      @@RandomRobReviewsI thought it was German as when you go to Saturday and Sunday, Samstag is Saturday in German and Sunday is Sonntag in German. I could list up the rest of the days, but when you check the days, and you see "SAM" on Saturday it is German or French, as in French Saturday is Samedi and Sunday is Dimanche. So it is possible I saw wrong, maybe the language was French, but if I remember correctly Friday was German Freitag and not Vendredi, as is French. But VERY possible that I saw wrong..😀 I would trust the owner rather than me!!

    They are both made in the same factory in Malaysia. J model is made for the Middle East, which has less strict laws on what you can label as Made in Japan. This is also why it has Arabic. If it was made for Japanese market, it would have had Japanese instead. Language is just for the region it's made for.
