@laurie miller YES! Vaganova is the old school and the only right school in classical ballet dancing. It is an absolute gold standard. This technique positions your body perfectly to handle the most demanding styles of dancing because it is the most demanding technique and the most disciplined, elaborate, meticulously described and methodologically taught. That is also why it is the best and it is applicable not only in any type of dance (because it positions dancer's body to handle any move) but also in sports, like gymnastics, figure skating and competitive dancing, because it gives your body grace. Hip-hop and all this other nonsense will give you nothing but nausea. I'm talking as a ballet dancer who was trained in one of Russian style European ballet school of nine-year program of Vaganova technique by Soviet ballet teachers and after that five more years of studying ballet pedagogy as ballet teacher also in Vaganova technique at the university level in Europe.

I just came form class and decided to watch some You Tube and I click on this video. As I watch it I am like wait a second this is what I just did at class. And I realize that our teacher stole our allegro combination from here 😂😂😂😂
A real skilful ballerina teacher who really demonstrated ballet skill in front of student group exam. I have used to watch many videos from Vaganova, but none of their teachers demonstrate the skill like this one. Perhaps, most Vaganova teachers were too old and became too fat even they could be a super ballet dancer while they were young.
