  • In this tutorial, Amy Howard will show you how to re-create the glazed finish found on the cover of Restoration Hardware's most recent issue!
Along with the cover finish, Amy Howard will also be showing the finish found on page 80 of the baby & child catalog, a chest gilded with silver leaf and glaze.
The stars of this tutorial are our glazing liquid (imperative for any glazing project), and gel stain to use on top of our silver leaf.

Amy, I’m a huge fan of yours but I’m also old, a beginner, and don’t see as well as I used to. I would LOVE to see these techniques (for use in my home). Is there any chance you would have the time to reshoot this video with close-ups as you’re working? You’re wonderful! 🎨

Looks lovely-Sure wish you would have held it up at the end so we could see the finished effect.

It would be extremely helpful if we could see what your doing at a closer angle and better lighting! Maybe a view from above? ❤️

Love these videos. I would really like to see this done on a full piece to see the effect. I've never seen the magazine piece or anything done like this. I would so share this if anyone I knew was interested in refinishing furniture, but I'm a unicorn out here. I've been thrifting for over thirty years and most people until recently thought that was so strange, lol. Thank you.

I agree the video quality is kinda hard to see the details at times. I have seen other videos that are way better thou. I am truly grateful for these videos but really can’t get enough details from the video.

First time on your channel but your energy is too cute! Loved your shout out to your “peeps” and your passion for what you do. Found your channel because I’m looking for a bed and found that what’s on the market now doesn’t match the quality of what I have so I want to refresh what I have. Thanks for all that you do!

I have a restoration hardware yellow pine table. That was fine in our kitchen but we moved it to the dining room. There is a walnut brown restoration hardware glass front cabinet and a brown Art Deco buffet cabinet. I want to change the color of the table to match the walnut brown of the other pieces in the room,, but I definitely want to be able to see the wood pattern in the top of the table.
    What treatment would you suggest?

Too much talking, not enough painting.

Well that is rude! They are explaining, hence the talking.
