This song & video is great in so many: the lyrics, the stripped down, on point performance, the Cadillac Confessionals, and DAMN, those firemen not waving back at John!
They are just simply 1 of the best bands & I’m thankful for their music ❤️
I totally agree with you❤!
So great full myself
This song has always ring true 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
John is witty and dark at the same time. Exene being arty philosophic here is priceless!
Great song! Love live ~X~!

So many good performances and interviews on that show. It was the debutantes ball for underground music.
This was in '83.
'83 or '84....early '84?
@@BattManion1979 well, the credits at the end have '87 listed. If it was recorded before it aired, I remember the show but not this episode, Peter Zaremba wasn't host until '84
@@ThePwebb Pete's in the shot for a second or two when the song begins.
I hope the tour in 2021 - new album is so good - it could have dropped in 1979
Love it! Thanks for the video, I've never seen this one before.
My pleasure! Glad you enjoyed it, and took the time to say so :)
GOATs.
I beg to differ John, I liked Los Angeles after I had gotten through the first two years of living in LA. It was a struggle for sure but I grew to love it in a way in the 70's and 80's.
" nobody really likes Los Angeles---they just put up with it." Thank you vastly John...
excellent !!

Kick ass!
woah "ill conceived by... Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Ferris" ! the pair behind all those smashing pumpkins videos and little miss sunshine. cool!
How can you say that about LA John, when you're in front of an old Newberry's?!?!
Hey
Where is Zoom?
He’d left the band by then this is just before Dave Alvin joined for a short while before Tony Gylkison joined full time
too much is too much
No bad thoughts.
I'll give this a try...
Nope.
Made it about 6 seconds, and thought "Trump."
Great performance of a great song though.
It’s sad that she went a bit koookooo recently. All noisy about conspiracy theories and such.
It like 1 in 3 or 4 of us will end up with dementia or alzheimer's, so shut your pie hole.
@@kathysahagian7478 . So everyone who believes in Qanon is actually just suffering from Alzheimer’s? No. Not buying that. She’s a selfish, rude, right wing nut.
@@georgelong5492 no I wasn't suggesting that she even had that. All I know about her is she was really nice to a young cocktail waitress in hollywood oh about thirty some years ago. She was nice to me every time she saw me. So that's who I know. I moved away from LA in the late 80's I've seen her when ever she's been singing and I wasn't working when she came through town on tours. Same nice person. I have not a bad thought about her. If she's unwell I'm just sorry for that but she hasn't displayed that when I've seen her before during or after in our limited interactions these days. You are entitled to your opinion about her. But I like her and wish the best and good health to her. I'd really appreciate it though if you'd try to be more empathetic was what I rudely expressed before what I was trying to say is many of us had to deal with a parent who isn't well and one day you or I might be unwell and we would hope that people would be more understanding weather it be a physical or mental health issue and I would hope people wouldn't go on the internet and talk about it, broadcast it. If she's unwell I hope the same for her or anybody. Whether you are spreading disinformation or telling the truth neither one makes you look very good in my eyes.
Such a lack of respect for anyone who isn't a secular sjw virtue signaling Democrat.we used to know there are two sides to every arguement.
@@georgelong5492 your ignorant useful idiot self doesn't have a clue what Qanon is. She's a conservative who believes in the four olds.
