Great vintage upright grand piano. 1890-1929 America's golden age of pianos. If you have one of these big uprights, tune, rehab, restore and play them. Thanks Brigham. Great tone.

At one time I had an Autopiano. It was a very old upright with a horrible case, for lack of a better word. Guess the outside wood had been damaged and someone used plywood panels to cover some areas. Oh, and the player part wasn't there.

Am I hearing correctly or is it super bright?

New strings with big bass from such long wound strings. Love the bottom end of these big old uprights.

What does the fourth pedal do?

The fourth from the left or from the right? (Joking)

No expert here, but I think it goes down when you step on it. But I could be wrong.

One of them is a "practice clavier" which is similar to what you see on many modern pianos that brings down some felt between the hammers and strings. You can see this clearly in the video.
The other pedal was called something like an "orchestra pedal" and I think it caused some beads to come into contact with the strings to create a shimmering effect. It is a shame that this wasn't demonstrated in the video (maybe it has been lost of course and didn't work).
