Can’t help but feel Halfords felt compelled to use the worlds shiniest van to deliver these products!
Haha couldn’t risk being turned away!
They would hardly use a dirty one would they?
You’re gonna keep it clean if it’s your “office”. I was the same with my taxi. In it all day every day
Good for them to take some pride
My god you must be a barrel of laughs to live with
Halfords products always seem to get a bad wrap in the detailing community but they seem to have upped their game and the 500 came up really well. Our job is really to meet customers expectations so unless people ask for a single or two stage correction a wash and protection in the main meets both our and their satisfaction in my eyes. Good job done well and as usual a few tips gleaned for incorporating into my own routine. Thanks.
Great video, those Halfords products really do the job, which just shows that effective detailing doesn’t need to cost a small fortune.
The little 500 looked amazing after wards, thank you for sharing this with us❤.
Excellent timing Guru, was just looking at this snow foam as I found my old power washer actually has a bottle attachment. Let the foaming fun begin
I must say I’ve watched you for a while and I must say that you really do take your time and delicacy with each process very uniformly so I always know the products are getting tested to the fairest they can be put to the test
Well, I’ve just been and bought some of this range. Hopefully worthy of their ‘advanced’ brand like their tools are. Certainly looked half decent in your video 😊
I was seriously impressed with the reactive wheel cleaner and I highly rate their interior quick detailer. For a long time I've used Auto finesse 'total' for interior cleaning, but I found the Halfords equivalent to be far superior.
Top work, Joe.👍 Some interesting products at reasonable prices. I will definitely give a couple of them a go. Your CRZ is looking bang tidy, too.👍😎
Nice job, as usual. Ill give it a try - just purchased online, but the collection is possible next week. Obviously a very new range in Halfords.
Great review well done Halfords for getting involved
I would also recommend the quick detailer. It sprays Really nice and works well in the sun and smells amazing
Just proves you don’t have to go over the top to get a decent finish…👍
thats right a broom and a bucket is all i use and it comes up clean every time
@markhalls2057 Broom??? 🤣 Enjoy looking at your car in the light with scratches everywhere. At minimum you should use a microfiber mitt
@@Mark-qe8zigoogle “sarcasm” 😅
@gerrym4377 hard to tell if anyone's being sarcastic over the Internet, plus some people actually do that 🙄
@@Mark-qe8zi
Well I done quite a few customers cars over the years were all they want is it literally just cleaning… a wash & wax and a dry off… been doing this for 40 years and I’ve never had anyone complain yet… and some of my regular clients now still just have a really basic clean… and are more than happy with the results
That’s going to be an eye opener for a few high brands .
Nice upload thanks
Brilliant watch, really enjoyed it 👌 looking forward to the next one 🤙
It’s like washing your car with a thesaurus, I love these videos, so relaxing
Another great video Joe from the original car cleaning guru.
Brilliant video as always. Will definitely try your recommendations. Cheers fella.
Another useful video, Joe, good to have these fall back options around the corner if needed 👍
Deffo!
@@CarCleaningGuru What is a Deffo?
Definitely!
@@tedlym.3390Yank here, and I can confirm this will happen
@@tedlym.3390Are you saying Joe is under educated?
Sometimes I also use a soft brush on the paint of my A5 to dissolve bugs when they sat too long. Hard paint usually won't show swirls after that :)
Huge difference, great job guru
Some of the products look useful. Some products i am willing to pay the premium for the big brands but for things like tar remover, wheel cleaner and glass cleaner i see no reason to pay the extra for the fancy stuff the cheap stuff works well and its nice to know there is a place where you can just run in and grab something quickly.
What would be nice is an overview of there cloths towels and mits etc , i always get burnt buying them online, everything i get tends to be a bit naff.
How did you find the ceramic foam on the windscreen?
Does it have a similar effect as Rain-X or similar products?
I just hope it doesn't cause wiper judder.
Edit: I didn't finish watching the video. I see you cleaned off the excess with the glass cleaner 😅
As you mentioned in your video i came to see the ceramic coating as other brands are way way too expensive for a 500ml bottle but enjoyed your video throughout. That wheel cleaner did an amazing job and if i was a big-wig at Halfords and watched this video i would certainly be offering you a job in the detail side of Halfords running a small team and making and testing new products like the one you mentioned you would like to see. Great video and i watch hundreds of detailing videos but yours stood out for being thorough and explaining every detail from costs to applying it to the finish. .
Now that was one impressive turnaround, just shows how a few hours work and using non branded expensive products can make a car very attractive again, especially if you were putting it up for sale. Great video matey.
Thanks for an unbiased view, used a few of these products and pleasantly surprised at how good they are, the quick detailer is fantastic imho 🎉
Yes you've just reminded me that I need to dig it out again!
Tried the citrus degreaser and the snow foam. Impressed with the snow foam, but used all of the degreaser on first application, which isn't cost effective, so won't bother getting any more of that.
Halfords came and re-gassed the air con on my Alfa Brera last week... Brilliant service , highly recommend.
I need this doing too. Should have asked while he was here!
Been wondering whether this stuff was any good or not, thanks for vid 👍
Recently bought the Advanced Snow Foam and Reactive Wheel Cleaner, haven't got a bad thing to say about them. Will definitely be getting the shampoo and ceramic snow foam next time I'm down that way.
I was seriously impressed with the reactive wheel cleaner and I highly rate their interior quick detailer. For a long time I've used Auto finesse 'total' for interior cleaning, but I found the Halfords equivalent to be far superior.
Halford advanced tools are made by draper I believe so is actually really good quality!
Mine have outlasted any other brand as of yet, and with the lifetime guarantee what can go wrong.
One day ill bump into you at our local halfords always just go in to see what else i can get my hands on😂
I’m laying low until the Maccies hype dies down!
@@CarCleaningGuru tell me about it, baffels me how maccies got that land, place is gonna be rammed at all times
That Halfords van was lovely and shiny
Couldn’t risk being turned away!
I've always bought autoglym and might try them for a while to see if I see any difference.
I must say that when i read "old fiat 500" I was expecting the OLD Fiat 500... 😅 excellent job anyway mate!
Nice honest review 👍
Excellent video
When you said old Fiat 500 I thought it was going to be the classic one.
Looking good joe, the new Halfords range of cleaning products looks promising and they seemed to bring the car up like new! So would be ok to use if you don’t get a chance to clean your car regular?. The prices are quite reasonable too.
After many years of watching, happy for the product sponsorship and revenue for you. That being said, there seemed to be a need for lots of product to be used and it made hard work of the tougher grime unlike a Bilt Hamber equiv product. To use 1 bottle of de-greaser on a car that size seems to show the product is not great.
Most vids (including this one) aren’t paid and don’t generate any considerable revenue, they just represent a few ££ worth of free products to use which is great, I just don’t want people to think I’m raking it in when I’m not.
In regards to the heavy cleaning, even on a small car like this, if it hasn’t been properly washed for 2+ years and lives under a tree then even the best stuff isn’t going to cut it in my experience, physical scrubbing and decontamination is the only thing that will get you there once dirt has become a certain level of ingrained.
@@CarCleaningGuru yeah no issue with your skills or how you present it, my point being if Halfords gave you a box of goodies I’d expect to be more than, not just enough to do a fiat 500. I’ve been using the same bottles of bilt hammer for 2 years for wheels, traffic film and fall out. Looks like you were struggling with 500ml. Maybe Halfords can double up for next time.
Just the video i was after. Was in Halfords yesterday buying some cleaning bits for the car. Wished i'd seen this before spending £90 on meguires
Could you do a video, doing a car with no power washer lol, like wash and detail a car with the 2 bucket method 👀
For a boring lookin colour at start u realy gave it a big lift. The gloss an shine on camera is top class.
Am i understanding correctly that the wheel cleaner and citrus pre was pretty much used up after one wash?
Yeh but I’ll always exhaust a 500ml on a neglected car that hasn’t been seen to for years.
How many cars does a Bottle do?
GREAT VIDEO! as always!!
I tend to clean my vehicles on a whim, so rarely have the gear I need. I do see the convenience of having half decent product within 10 min of my gaff but they also sell a whole load of competing products like autoglym/meguires etc. It'll be a hard push to convince me to spend similar money for Halfords brand product.
Doesn't seem like a rip off or anything, but i'd have hoped it was either a bit cheaper or you got a bit more of it.
Fantastic clean.
Ever heard of Jennychem chemicals 😊.
Would you recommend starting on the wheels first when cleaning?
Yes unless you’re using high quality filtered water then it doesn’t really matter.
Bought the wheel reactive cleaner when you posted this as I was short of the proper stuff, yes was a snob and only got named stuff but today found it in the detail bag thought I’ll give it a go the stuff is brilliant blended up straight away rinsed the wheel of was clean say about 97% then went on with a Brush wheel mit shampoo clean as a whistle wish they sold it in bigger quantities
Decent stuff looks like. But that spray sealant...is in a choc a bloc market. Recrntly got the turtlewax graphene spray wax for 7.5/bottle.
Works as well....
The Halfords stuff seemed to do a good job. This may be a daft question but how do you clean your towels? A quick rinse or washing machine with detergents ?
He's actually done a detailed video in the past on this very subject. It may be worth searching it up. I found it very informative and educational.
Great video & halfords products eh, who’d habe thought it. Can I ask what pressure washer you use?
A 10 year old Kranzle K7. Newer ones come with auto shut-off which makes a big difference.
The seagulls appreciated your efforts too, or maybe they were laughing and planning a splattery revenge.
Deffo the latter 😩
All looked okay to me... but I tend to analyse cost and efficiency when thinking about different products and the ones I use are based on that thought process, because no matter what anyone sais the car will be dirty again in a week. There are no products that keep a car clean. Only products that clean dirty cars. 😄 Nothing in this video suggests Halfords products will save me time and money or do the job better.
Good vid though. Thanks for that. 😄👊
👍🏼Sound review.
Poor little Fiat really gave you a workout being so neglected! Well done! That colour though... it's identical to the Austin Allegro my grandmother used to drive in the 80's... really should have remained in the 80's...
Your commentary is poetry
It’s something alright!
Poet Laureate of the Wirral.
Given the fact Halfords have just dropped autofinesse I suspect they just bypassed them and went straight to their supplier whilst slapping a new label on the bottle
Good on Alfords, its time they upped the anti. They certainly have the outlets to reach everyone.
Great job on this car..... me i dry the areas where i spray the tar remover so the chemical sit in the tar and not the water on the area the you use less tar remover
Trade account discount?
What's that thingie rotating on the top of the van?
Stop you suffocating on your own farts if you get locked inside!
@@CarCleaningGuru 🤣🤣
Nice vid guru
I absolutely adore your Honda. Beautiful.
Would love to give it the power it deserves!
It is a bit disappointing that they choose to match the competition in price rather than undercut it, bad move in my opinion
Nice job on the car though!
999👍 just had to smash that button, quality as always
Were the Guru-grade High Flow Flip Flops part of the Advanced package? 😃
No Halfords come in bright orange only!
@@CarCleaningGuru BOOOOH. And hiss.
Have you got bad knees from detailing over the years? You're a tall guy so do you suffer rom a bad back too? Just curious. Cheers
Lower back used to give out when doing it full time now neck has taken over sitting in front of laptop so can’t win. The world isn’t built for tall people 🤷♂️.
Halfords are now working out if they can add 'mobile valeting' kit (and a large tank of water) to their offerings in the world shiniest van with our favourite Detailer being their CEO!
Cracking vid as always mate 🤙 I read that Autobrite Direct had something to do with the new Halfords Advanced, have you heard anything from your likely better-informed grapevines?
Autobrite stated on their social media that they have nothing to do with the new Halfords range.
This car has 10 years already? No way 😮
Exactly what I thought.
That's great but if I turned up to a customers house with stuff from Halfords, I'd be concerned they'd think I didn't know better.
Some good products there.
Some punchy pricing for Halfords products. Are they trying to go upmarket?
Dumb q
Why would the paint be swirled if its probably never been washed. I thought it was poor drying that caused swirls?
Cheers
Like most daily drivers it will have been washed poorly multiple times throughout its life, just not recently. And yes rough towels can cause marring but it’s generally dirt particles that cause swirling during washing.
@@CarCleaningGuru much appreciated. Always grateful to learn something new.
I wish detail guru would upload more videos of him just cleaning..😢
You are brilliant!
I know!
What camera equipment is used here?
Old GoPro with baseball cap mount for shaky pov & Panasonic HCx1500 which I wouldn’t recommend as its sensor is too small so is terrible with anything other than perfect light.
@@CarCleaningGuru was your old canon better with the sensor?
Halfords have really turned themselves around in recent years haven't they.
Saw what happened with Motor World.
All seems to be around a quid or 1.20 cheaper ish with a trade card on average aswell
You Madman !!!! Get round my house , give me a bath 😂 ! ❤👍
I'm worried that while the range seems to do a decent job, it doesn't seem to offer value for money. Also the packaging might get lost against the turtle wax, meguiars, autoglym, auto finesse stands
I have a feeling that the new Halfords advanced cleaning products are rebranded auto finesse products, just happens that they have stoped stocking the auto finesse in there stores and some of the Halfords advanced products are in the same bottles and some smell the same,
About time!!!!!
Nice.
A whole bottle of snow foam on a little car?
That’s just me as I can’t be bothered decanting/remixing what’s left over.
Would be interesting to know who actually manufactures the halfords products.. so many "brands" in detailing yet only a handful of actual manufacturers..
At 20:17 did you hear the seagull organising a drop 🙈
I like it!!
That Honda Number plate tho...
Godamnn hose pipe ban is ruining my detailing ferish😂
£10 tar and glue. Stuff that. £1 for some turps or white spirit, fine mist, damp a cloth with it and wipe. Spritz with citrus and wipe down to remove any remaining product.
Warm kiwi black boot polish to aid application. Gently rub over tyre with lint free cloth. Let dry. Buff with a brush. Perfect. £12+ for tyre gel? Do me a flavour. Simples.
if your ever struggling for a subject vehicle ill happily volunteer my passat :) lol
Is this car chem products re labelled
Not sure, I visited the Car Chem factory a few years back and sampled most of their products when I was thinking of selling my own and they were all up to scratch from what I recall.
Im aware this is almost certainly paid sponsership, but i love the "full system" review type videos.
My poverty-spec bank balance wishes it was paid but it was just a case of the products being supplied free of charge in return for a feature.
Top job, you can come and do my car anytime. lol
Maybe this is why autobrite direct have pulled out of Halfords shops
Keep cleaning, I’m almost finished
I like this guy
bucket of hot water with some fairy liquid and jobs a gooden 👍😂
🤣🤣🤣. When I was a kid, I kept washing my dads car in Fairy and CIF. It was a blue Jetta, but I changed it to pink within a few years.🤭
Why would someone let their car get in that state in the first place?
For many its just a mode of transport and the rain washes it 😢
What is the purpose of paying for a car detail that is not dirty?
