    Need to start with large rocks. Basically boulders in order for the small stuff to not wash away

      You’re right

    • @petergraphix6740
      @petergraphix6740 Před rokem +6

      I don't think it's washing away, but instead sliding deeper over a layer of clay. Large rocks only partially help here, you need to dump the large rocks on this, then give it a bit of time to sink into the clay layer. Then you dump more large rocks again and again with some timing in between them. Otherwise the material you're dumping could be forming a mat that is getting pushed 100+ meters out on the lake bottom sliding across that clay.

    • @americanmotors3631
      @americanmotors3631 Před rokem +2

      Wouldn't you want one round of small stuff? Then boulders until your almost level?? Then topping it off with more small stuff??? Thought you wanted a layer of "fines" first for the boulders to settle into?..? Then you do the main filling with the large fillers.. I've seen that and I have seen where they alternate... Both truck haul sand for a while then one switches to boulders.. and they go over other until it's filled in.

    • @peteschiavoni
      @peteschiavoni Před rokem +1

      @@americanmotors3631 You are correct depending on where you live and soil types etc. we were in a sand area so boulders/ big rocks, then depending on slope we’d put in 8-12” oversized bluestone then sand/ rock. However depending on conditions this changed. Once in horrible clay we had to crane in boulders with a diver in the water. Also we’ve had to have bulkheads put in. But bottom line is this stuff looks way too small

    holy smokes--that lake must be 75 feet+ deep at the bank--and steep! The angle of repose is near 1:1 even after losing hundreds and hundreds of ton. What possible economic land use justifies so much rock on such a tiny bit of land? They could have filed 5 acres or more wetland with that rock. It's beautiful shot limestone.

It would be interesting to have someone come out with a ground penetrating radar and scan the area. With the radar you will see the work you've done and where that rock is disappear into and also what's underneath it. It's just my opinion good luck and let us know what you find.
