Game Description:
Mafia: Definitive Edition is an action-adventure video game developed by Hangar 13 and published by 2K Games. A remake of the 2002 video game Mafia, for Microsoft Windows PC, PS4 and Xbox One. The game is set within a redesigned version of the fictional city of Lost Heaven (based on Chicago) in the 1930s, and follows the rise and fall of taxi driver-turned-mobster Tommy Angelo within the Salieri crime family.
Conceived as a full remake of the original, Mafia: Definitive Edition was built from the ground up with new assets and an expanded story, although missions and arcs from the original game are carried over. As with the 2002 game, players control Tommy Angelo throughout the game's single-player campaign, and its world is navigated on foot or by vehicle. New to the remake is the introduction of motorcycles, a first in the series. Mafia: Definitive Edition's gameplay mechanics are based on those of Mafia III. A 'Classic Difficulty' setting will also be included.
In 1930, after being strong-armed into helping two members of the Salieri family - Paulie and Sam - escape an ambush by the rival Morello family, impoverished taxi driver Thomas "Tommy" Angelo is assaulted by members of the Morello family in an act of revenge. While he is rescued by the Salieri family after calling in a favor Don Ennio Salieri promised him, Tommy loses his job after his employers learn about his involvement with the Mafia. With a lack of job opportunities due to the ongoing Great Depression, Tommy is forced to accept Salieri's offer to join his organization, and soon befriends Paulie and Sam as they complete various jobs together.

There was a time where they were actually friends. It was never confirmed but I’m pretty sure they both had a hand in killing the old don
Salieri’s scene at the end is heartbreaking. The moment you realize you’re the only one left.
Damn Tommy feels like a legit Mob enforcer in this game, I love it 10/10 one of the best remakes.

What really tripped me up is that this is the THEME SONG of Hitman Blood Money! Also the same song that plays when a boss assassination contract is given in Hitman Go. I was like ‘no way!!’ when it started playing in this mission too, must be amazing coincidence or definitely an Easter egg/ salute to Hitman (given that you’re also going as Hitmen to kill the Boss)
The map that they look in cutscene is map from the original 2002.
The montage of the war in the beginning reminded me of Boardwalk Empire's mob wars.

@@mafiagta5491 I guess they wanted to play her to have a more emotional feeling when it came to morelos death. See him all burned up and on the ground is kinda scary, as well as what tommy told the investigator in the next scene

In the old one the plane scene didn't always happen cause if your car is fast enough you can run him off the road and shoot him then and there its difficult to do though but it seems in the remake the car stays ahead of you so there's no chance of an alternative killing method.
Guys if anyone is getting frustrated with The airplabe scene, even if it is on easy mode, try to put on classic mode and sensivity 3.5, it worked with me on ps5! I read this set up from a forum! 👌🏾

Caida Libre (Free Fall).
Anybody else getting really frustrated with the part you have to shoot the engine of the airplane. Aiming system in this game is absolutely terrible.
Yea...I've given up after about 60 tries. And I was really enjoying the game up until this point.
I made it in the first try, in classic.
@Shadow Knight It's supposed to be terrible because that's how Thompsons, or any SMGs handled. The constant recoil of a full auto Tommy will raise the barrel, so to counter you always have to pull down to hit the target properly.
@Shadow KnightMafia is right up there with my other favorite games, Read Dead 2, GTA V & Uncharted 4. Freedom to explore, badass action sequences & an amazing storyline.
I don’t know why. Even if I change the setting Aiming Assist to high, I still get mission fail. After dozens of multiple tries, finally succeed. On classic difficulty.

First the previous mission’s cutscene wouldn’t even start, now when I tried this cutscene, no sound was coming, even when skipping, it came back.
This game is definitely buggy, but not as buggy as Mafia III.
@Ibrahim Sultanovic PS4 version was the same for You lucky bastard in which the intro cutscene wouldn't play at first but fixed when the game was rebooted

So far I think car racing and this mission I rage quite a lot.
Once you get the hang of it, this level is probably one of the most fun in the game!

Literally can't do the mission because the gate which you go through right after shooting his planes engines isn't opening for me
I had a hard time shooting the airplane engines it took me a couple of tries to get it but I really enjoyed that mission.
How did you do it? There doesn't seem to be enough time. I still haven't beat this part yet.
I just kept shooting both engines even though I kept shooting the wrong one at times I still got both.

The developer of this game should be made to sit in a singlr engine plane as he made the reloading and shooting realistic and for him, single engined plane can make a travel 😡😡
The mission to chase morello damaged plane very similliar to gta 5 mission caida libre where trevor riding a dirtbike and have to chase a damaged plane that was shot by michael. While in this mission the guys chase morello's plane by car.
why compare to gta v ? its also like this on the original game if im not mistaken

17:04 I'm not gonna lie but this scene was really lame, the gun sounds are awful.
Instead of just making a remake why didnt they explore Don Salieri's past, we could have had a brand new game, where we play as young Salieri, see how he joins the mafia, how he and Morello were friends,..etc until you become A Don and run your own family, thus unlocking many new features (bribes, family wars, the option to take out other rival gangs/families or use diplomatie, make deals, run businesses..etc). God , the possibilities are endless!!! But now... we get the same game again but with better graphics and nice cutscenes.. very disappointing. Cutscenes you watch once like a movie and you're done.. But had you made Mafia 4 with the aforementionned features, now THAT is gameplay that would extend the games life significantly! Sort of like Mafia 1 meets Gangsters: Organised Crmes.
They could do that in a potential DLC but I'd doubt that H13 will make one, but that's interesting to see
