  • Join me as I venture onto Blackpool Promenade to bring you all the action as Storm Bella hits the Fylde Coast on Boxing Day 2020. We escaped the worst of the winds, but as you can see in the video, the storm was causing some damage.

It’s been worse in years gone by. The Irish Sea can be real ruff. Brought down our pier in morecambe on such a night years ago. I live in sunny California now but I miss the changing of the season’s . We had a sunny Christmas still feel’s strange after 35 years living here.

You can't beat a good storm with the rain and wind in your face and the sea crashing to the shore it makes you feel so alive. The illuminations are so much better as well in this kind of weather. Keep up the brilliant work.

I was in Blackpool in September 1976 to see the illuminations then. The sea was wild and I still have so.e photos of it. When I said to a local that the sea was rough it was coming over the promenade he said it's not rough until it goes over the promenade across the road hits Woolworths windows and goes back to the sea. Good luck there and the illuminations are beautiful. Oh and I dropped a penny a tram run over it I have it some where bent at 90° lol

I'd like to see you do Southport when Tier restrictions allow. I was in Lord Street when there was a heatwave and it was honestly like being in Paris (until I moved in to another street :) Of course, some say Paris' Baron Hausmann redesign was actually based on Southport (no lie) as one of the Napoleons visited there beforehand. It's not close to Blackpool entertainment-wise but maybe worth a video

Must be freezing. It would be amazing to be up the tower. I used to go across the North sea and there were times when it was rough, really rough, a huge ferry going beneath the waves, and up again. Amazing experience, though most, if not all passengers we frightened, terrified.
