*UPDATE The water shown here has returned to its banks. Water rises and falls in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge quickly. Thanks for watching.
Kinda cool now watching the snowflakes fall from our balcony at the margaritaville resort. Enjoying our 19th wedding anniversary thanks for giving us all the information we needed for a perfect trip. Other than the fact all the restaurants you recommended had to close for the weather which I understood but kinda sucked because I was looking forward to a good steak
@@zacharytomlin8814 happy anniversary! Is it snowing right now?? Wish you could have gotten a good steak today. So glad to hear you guys found some value in the channel!

God is sending many warnings. Take heed and seek God.
My bride and I were married in Gatlinburg just before the fire, now this. I didn't recognize any of the new buildings, about time to return!
Mother Nature way of reminding us to stop messing around with all the endless building. We need to make better decisions to avoid these situations.

I've been watching the videos from Florida. Stay safe down there.
Love this place, loved the people, great place to visit and vacation. My heart breaks for you guys.
I love it there it’s beautiful Maybe Dolly can do a fund raiser and help them out !
@@sandralrho9455it happens more often than you think.
Don't worry! We're ok.
Be careful driving through high waters (not supposed to do that). Love this town so much! My first husband and y got married there in 1998 (God rest his soul). Special memories. Praying for y'all! 🙏
I hate to see this happening to anyone's property. The video was sharp and clear, excellent camera work, it was like we were there . Thank you , I had no idea it was this bad. It was rough in Unicoi but not this much water.
I HAVE been there many times and recognize the businesses there. Horrible for all who work and live there. What a nightmare.
Rockin in Unicoi !
Goodness!!! I think this is the highest water video I have seen from Gatlinburg! I didn't know East TN was getting this much rain!!! We got a bit in Middle TN but no where near this amount! Be careful everyone!

Wow! If I was at Greystone Lodge I think I would be moving my car about now
😮Omg! Stay safe y'all! We are getting all this rain and heavy 60-70mph winds all through the evening here at the Delaware beaches. Lots of coastal flooding expected. Thanks for the video!
As I recall this same area was hit with very bad forest fires a few years ago! That doesn't help ! 🤔🤔🤔🤔
I too am in Delaware beach region,Lewes to be exact. The wind and rain are moderate at the moment.
Eric, my thoughts and prayers to all affected by the flooding! That's a lot of water and hope y'all are all safe.

Just arrived in Gatlinburg for the first time coming up from savannah georgia. Love your videos. Water has gone down but what an experience coming from south georgia to cherokee then turning around on newfound gap road and taking I 40 to Gatlinburg
Reminded me of that time River Street flooded and folks ditched cars to get totaled.
We stayed in Gatlinburg a few year back and a hurricane came up the coast and inland. There was a creek that ran along the mountain road near our cabin. By the time we packed up and left the creek was raging and becoming a river. You would think that because your in the mountains it couldn't flood there but that's not at all the case. I love Gatlinburg and the people of Tennessee I hope they are all safe and don't lose anything from this storm. God bless you Tennessee ❤.
Grew up in Gatlinburg and has been flooding just like this since the 50’s and 60’s , not often but does. Around the River Terrace, Aquarium, Greystone, and around Ole Reds etc.. you can only restrain the river so much. Thanks much for the videos..
EXACTLY. People calm down! These comments are just idiotic
@@tennesseegirl5539I'm truly laughing my Azz off right now. Lotta drama queens out there..
We lived on Hemlock, in an apartment that is now condos, was built in the 50s, made of cinderblock... It was the very last building before the curve where the Spur starts, was behind Cooters when it was still there. We were the lowest point in Gburg, so we got evacuated a couple of times because of rain. I was on the 2nd floor so we weren't worried about our apartment flooding, but those below us?? Sheesh
I just found this video. We live in Knoxville and had no idea it was this bad up there! Thank you for covering this flooding. Stay safe!
I live in Knoxville too. We had lots of rain and we’re getting strong winds now and probably some of the usual streets are flooded, but nothing like this. I hate to see this happening to our beautiful Smoky Mountains.
@debra.justice TOO MUCH DEVELOPMENT

@@joannadorothy About 40 miles from my area of Knoxville. If it’s not tourist season it’s an easy drive. But summer and fall the traffic is a nightmare.
Looks like a new log ride in Gatlinburg folks! Hang on for the duration of the ride!!
Gatlinburg looks like a really lovely town. Hope she gets through this flooding ok.
boy n girl scout troops standing bye ready for the clean up to begin
All of it is headed straight toward Pigeon Forge and Sevierville, too! My thoughts are with you all!
Walling in a river, building right on the riverbank, and building low bridges over them is a recipe for disaster and when you do it at the base of a mountain its insane to expect anything other than destruction.
Great Job as ALWAYS!! The Creeks are Loud near the house .. insane
A week from now thais same area will be under 2 feet of snow with below zero temps.😮
sorry to see this. we had a great time there right after Christmas. I had no idea how busy a place it would be.
It was a heck of a storm. I haven't seen one of those in January in memory.
Good grief! We thought all that rain was more down towards the Gulf. Prayers 🙏❤️ for those affected, and Eric, you and your family be safe. Thank you. Btw, 8"of snow here; everything shut down, windy, lots of wrecks.
So where is “here”

Anytime it rains in the mountains it flows downhill filling rivers and creeks below. The tourists love it! Locals are used to it but can be a pain!
Prayers to Lord Jesus for protection over Gatlinburg!
This small town looks picturesque.
You need to visit......but not this week
It's a cool town
I thought so too.
Prayers for all there.🙏
Went with my family back in the spring of 1995 and the whole town flooded. Luckily we stayed up on Airport Rd, but they were just pumping water out of shops in town.
It's like this here in parts of England too. Stay safe
I wonder what the river looks like in Pigeon Forge at the Old Mill?
One of my old employers. Praying all is well inside. Love my No Ways family.
I dont think I've ever seen the water spill over the bridge like that... crazy weather
Good video, that was a lot of rain water 😮, that was bad 😢
So heartbreaking. Hope everyone got out of flooded areas. My heart always breaks to think of poor animals that are left behind.
I was going to go there this week for a day trip. Guess, I need to make other plans.
Prayers to all there in Gatlinburg and the surrounding areas. It looks like a nice place to live. My parents and many of my other relatives are Tennessee natives and I've been thinking about moving back there myself. I hope you recover quickly!
You wouldn't wanna live there. Too many tourists all year, plus the cost of living is astronomical. I've only visited 3 times, and I'm over it.
Holy Moly, had no idea that kind of widespread flooding could happen there. Thanks for the video. Much love to Gatlinburg.
That should be SNOW! OMG. My sister just relocated to North Carolina from near Gatlinburg. Ugh.
Y’all stay safe. I hope everyone is.
Wow! Thanx for the video update, be safe out there!
Thanks for the video! You did a great job filming as if we were right there with you. ❤️ We love Gatlinburg ❤️ We pray any damages are very minimal.
What do you expect when you develop the flood plains of a creek? Exactly this. It happens all the time.
Correct
Yep, this is a regular occurrence and has been for the 50 years I've been visiting the Smokies.🙄
Imagine a “100 year” event. This is nothing, but still alarming.
Exactly !!! Maybe nature sees what people have done to it down there and will eventually take it back !! I'm sure that town was beautiful before every hillside was covered in cabins 😓
Doesn’t matter where we build. Natural disasters (events) can happen anywhere. Here, it’s tornadoes or the New Madrid fault line. When I grew up on the east coast it was hurricanes. And imagine living through the thousand year flood in Nashville.
So very sad. Tennessee Authorities need to truly figure out a Diversion River to allow the Water to Divide itself to relieve so much overflow of The Little Pigeon River coming down from NewFound Gap.
Water will find it way .Quit building rit next to the streams.
No, I agree, why isn't there a better drainage system in place? With all the resources & money those businesses bring in can't they come up with something? 💧
Exactly!
You would think as much money that is made in Gatlinburg, that they would be able to set up some type of a better system for water overflow.
they tried that in Las Vegas, all those tunnels turned into nothing but homeless camps.
Happens every time it rains hard over there. This ain't the first time. Close the roads, let the water go down.
i was wondering if it was bad over there if the dr had released me we probably would have been there great video thank you for showing this stay safe
Up the road a spell, the Nashville Flood in May 2010 was maybe a hundred times worse. I was surrounded by water for 3 days while the over all was a week to 10 days before most roads were open... months later the below ground limestone held water and made the Humidity and smell stick around well over a month. I became a Yankee again having lost my place down Thar. 7 twisters in one afternoon sent me running to Michigan and 141 inches of snow in on winter. I stayed two winters there for thew rainbow Trout Flood waters reached 88 feet above normal flow. in places
Wow
It is so pretty there I don't want anything destroyed
Thank you guys hope everybody's safe❤
We were just there 3 weeks ago on vacation 😮
Thanks for the coverage. Unfortunately this happens a lot in that area of Gatlinburg.
Prayers for each that are affected by this flooding!

Wow,first time ever seeing this..thanks for sharing.🙏for ppl living here.
God has power!..to do it all n no one can stop it, just got to watch it, Amen
Flooding is no joke, people....stay home.
Thanks for showing the flooding Eric. Hoping not a lot of property damage. I'm in eastern Pennsylvania and we're under flood warnings now. Storm is over us now.
Prayers I hope no one gets hurt
Northeast Florida starting to get it now, schools closed here too. This is some nasty stuff
Oh no I hate that so much, we were hit here in Georgia this morning one person killed. God's wrath everyone, please pray for your salvation. God bless you all.
Incrediblle footage...Congrats on the video 1.4 million views that is awesome.
Living in area for a long time now I've seen this happen a few times over the years in 2006/7 it was even worse the water was over the main and side roads. Water rushing thru the first floors of the hotels. You could see the water going right thru the bottom floors rooms the water was very high. even on the streets the water was deep. the mountains were so full of water it looked like the mountains were crying all over the mnts. Waterfalls where everywhere in places where there was no waterfalls before the flood. Even in Pigeon Forge the river come over the road.
In Gatlinburg at the aquarium people where trapped there, a helicopter had to evacuate the people out.
What happens is the river has a 90 degree turn near the aquarium. The water will rush thru so fast and hard that the turn cause the water to start backing up. It just flows to fast to make the 90 turn without causing a back flow. When the river rushes and get high it allows many down branches and trees to move down the river. the trees will get caught on turns and narrow areas. Especially at the 90° turn. The trees and debris makes natural Dams which cause the water to build up reaching record highs till it floods everything. Hopefully I explained this in a way its understandable. It's really hard to give a explanation but it's an amazing sight but scary and sad for the property owners stores restaurants motels devastated inside full of water mud and debris. I have to day before I had to evacuate I did a little drive into the mountains seeing the mountains with all those new waterfalls and looking like the mountains are sobbing was actually very pretty but you knew it wasn't going to be good. Prayers for my friends and neighbors...
Please stay safe!!
Hope everyone is ok Mother Nature is being herself praying for all and everyone’s property
Wow! I've never seen it like that before. That's crazy! Stay safe.
Thank you
They rebuilt so much in Gatlinburg after the fire in 2016 I lived right downtown Gatlinburg and never saw this kind of flooding . We moved after the fire. Wonder if the spur flooded.Crazy!!
Crazy! Thanks for making such good content! Southern Indiana here, no flooding.
Nice I'll be there Friday!
Certainly opportunities there...✌️🙏✌️
I feel so sad watching this bc Gatlinburg is my second home for vacation
Thanks for the video, it's sad to see my favorite place in the world like this. I'm 81 and been going there since I was 20 on vacations. I stayed at the River Terrace many times. Stay safe everybody!
It's a very old town. Developed many years ago and of course God does what God does, as he sees fit. Nothing the town could do about that. Just glad all will be back to normal soon. Nobody bounces back like those awesome Tennesseans 🙏👍
Thanks for sharing. That's the worst flooding I've seen in that area.😮
Wowza be safe everyone
Most pristine waters from the Smokey Mountains.
Gatlinburg has lived the old James Taylor song " I've seen fire, and I've seen rain".
I wonder if boone or NC mountain citys are also flooding
Thanks for the videoEric We had flooding in our neck of the woods. Not as intense as ya"ll,tho we had a lot of heavy wind.50/60 mile hour wids that seem to never let up.Alot of wind damage and power outages.(Waynesboro Tn).Stay safe and know we are sending you and family our love and prayers, Karen&George
Incredible to see. Thank you.
Moved to Knoxville from FL back in July been wanting to visit gat for the mountain views and snow but looks like no snow yet but damn hope everyone safe with the flooding
I think they have a good system in place for flooding. This amount of precipitation would overload any system, I think. In the burbs of Cincy, we are completely saturated with water. Hope everyone didn't have too much damage. Great video!
Such a reasonable response. Thanks as always Dee.
Down here has been really windy and waiting on the line to pass. There was tornadoes this am in the panhandle
I’ve seen this flooding before but never remembering it overtopping those bridges.
Go Eric !!! Great footage as usual !!!
Great footage. Thanks 🙏🏼
That's so crazy. Thank you for the great video. I was at Zoder's one month ago. I hope they are okay.
So beautiful and calm.
Where there used to be snow, expect rain. Same thing happening on the Eastern seaboard.
