You should have put dead but the fast version
Come on, how can you have The End on this list and not have Dead! on the list as well, the solo is absolutely phenomenal in that song
The fact that you're wearing the jacket from The Black Parade makes this 100 times better
Thanks for noticing that buddy!
no
Made it to 200 likes, that was satisfying!
I enjoy the shout to Frankie with the gloves as well!
And the fingerless skeleton gloves. Frank would be proud
Lmao, people actually sleep on Sleep. It is such an eargasmic song.
it's legit my favorite song by them
It was my least favourite from the album when I was a teenager, but it’s quickly become one of my favourites out of all they’re songs. Somethings just take time to grow on you is my guess
@@CameronOmegamega For me I loved it out of the get go. It's been my all time favorite album for years and probably will be forever. 😂
It's become a sleeper hit with the fans over the years
@@stargate9921 it really is a perfect album
Their first album really is an underrated classic. I know it's hard to compete with the commercial behemoths their later albums would become but bullets truly is the one album of theirs that never gets old.
the agony and energy in the album is really not matched by any other
Easily their best guitar work
Classic Album
And that’s a fact
Their first album is my favorite of all of their work.
Ray toro is so underrated
Facts
My man Frank (justifiably) gets all the attention. Where’s the love for our Afro lord?
I love ray he's my favorite guitarist. Number 2 goes to frank
Believe me I get why frank gets attention, and I can stand by that, but Ray is a fucking beast. I mean he is my goal skill level guitar
Yeah, him and Gerard are my favorite members, I hope people will appreciate Ray more!
The Headfirst for Halos riff made me feel a completely new emotion the first time I heard it
100% agree
what a banger!!
Yess honestly the whole of bullets was like a new emotion but especially headfirst for halos (and you cant forget the end of drowning lessons either)
I really love the fact that you added less known songs like Headfirst for Halos and Sleep. It really shows your interest in the band and also shows new music to the new fans
But sleep is from the black parade, is a pretty popular song
@@drefs3035 yeah, but I'm comparing them to songs like Helena or Wttbp, wich are a lot more popular
those two songs have been favourites of mine by MCR for a while
Headfirst is amazing, if only the vocals were mixed better
@@jayvee4321 so real. That's my favorite MCR song and I love how raw it is, but I'd love to hear a better mixed version
The only thing missing here is Drowning Lessons. Fucking best riff on the entire Bullets album imo, theres something so emotional and nostalgic about it.
YESS. Drowning Lessons is my favourite MCR song and that riff probably one of my favourite riffs ever. Gerard's insanely melancholic and tragic vocals on top of that banger riff makes it an insane emotional explosion.

Mcr are definitely underrated in terms of guitar complexity
Any time a musician or any form of entertainment really, has a large and vocal teen/early 20’s girl fan base, it gets dismissed as being less deserving of respect because clearly women are only going to be drawn to something because of its attractive men and not because it’s, you know, actually really fucking good 😣🥺
not necessarily in terms of guitar complexity but definitely in terms of musical complexity. they have some really good harmonies and melodies! they were actually good at songwriting
@@heather23renaealso not only that but any band that has had connections with the emo scene is generally overlooked. just look at A7X, they have some top notch guitar work and songwriting and have ditched the whole emo imagery since the late 2000s but they're still seen as less than other bands.
I think franks parts on helena is probably some of the best work he's ever done on a song
To the end is another great one
Lets not forget about early sunsets over monroeville
It make me so happy to find so much knowledge of MCR on this section 😭😭😭
In the same level with The Ghost of You and This is How i Disappear.
Recently i heard a Intrumental version of Three Cheers and god...it's a thing what touches your heart, he a great guitarist.
@@jacks647did he play early sunsets? don't think he really did anything on their first album, that was ray
The thank you for the venom riff is probably one of my favorite riffs ever, and especially in that post punk style.
metalcore maybe
@@revenge213 post punk and metal core, imo, are quite similar in structure and sound. I would say they have common roots, but I definitely think a lot of old MCR is on the punk side, since metalcore was relatively young for when they came out with their most core stuff
i think post hardcore is the term you're looking for. post punk would be like joy division
@@willjones4992 definitely agree, you're right
I think it sounds a lot like a thrash metal riff
I’ve never realized juuuuust how much Black Sabbath-inspired some of these riffs seem to be. It kicks so much ass.
I always think that too. The end riff to mama is incredibly Sabbath-esque, really heavy with the harmonies on there especially!
Sleep is with no doubt one of the best songs on The Black Parade, still so underrated
Sleep is my favourite song on that album, it’s just the sinister undertone of going to sleep and never waking up, you can imagine as the music grows louder in volume it drowns out the cries of anyone who tries to tell you to wake up, to keep going, and it’s absolutely haunting
Justice for house of wolves.
If that song were on any other album I'm sure it would've been more popular
i didnt realize how good it was till i heard it live. tbh it doesn't hit as hard on the studio version 😭
thank you for the venom has one of the best riffs of the entire bands discography
I would argue its one of the best riffs of that decade. Super underrated! Better than any at the gates rip off metalcore 050708 riff.
Thank You For The Venom has one of the best riffs ever written honestly
@@DanielLightspeedMcNair fax
So hard to play tho💀
@@s1storm on god
MCR never gets old. So many good riffs across the board but I feel like people sleep on Bullets sometimes, glad you included songs off that! Love Headfirst for Halos so much
There are so many good riffs in bullets and it's just overall really underrated. I love that you took less known songs like songs from bullets. It's so fun to hear them being played once in a while.
Mcr’s first album is so underrated, loved that you included many songs from bullets album!
I always tell people the first album is extremely under appreciated
And their best
At last!
These are amazing picks, some actually unexpected, and very welcome too because MCR had some really different techniques for their guitar work
the love for bullets makes me so happy. ray toro did some of his best work on that album and it as a whole deserves so much more recognition. id say the same goes for ray in general, people rarely think about how that man was practically what brought the whole band together.
I've been waiting for this! Linkin Park, Green day, Muse, MCR are my childhood itself! Perfect for halloween. Thank you always Vermilion 🤟🏻from 🇰🇷
MUSE YESSS
thanks for the love on demolition lovers :] that's been my favorite of theirs for years now. some songs have come and gone as my favorites in the moment but i've always had a constant admiration for the dreamy guitar work on that track specifically
I love how you included songs from their album Bullets
If someone asks why I like MCR I will just show them this video! So many awesome riffs.
Thank you so much for including This is How I Dissappear, one of my favorite songs regarding the guitar work from theirs
Love that you showed the first album some love.
Sounds great! Never been listening to my chemical romance, but after this video, maybe I should check 'em out! Great video, as always!
Their first album is a bop!
Highly recommend
Black Parade is easily my all time favorite album and all the songs flow together so well and come together to tell an awesome story. There isnt a song on that album that doesnt feel like a single. Each song is crafted so well and holds up on their own.
Tell us what you thought!
@@gabrielcontreras9545their first album is prob one of their worst, it's still a banger, but the lyrics aren't as good as Three cheers or the black parade
The tones are spot on. 👌
Thank you for the venom is hands down the most bad ass riff ever written by them. No question.
Scarecrow has a pretty dope riff
I'm so glad to see someone appreciating the riffs 🙌🙌🙌
Our Lady of Sorrow is amazing, so much power and energy
Sleep is probably one of the most complete and complex-structured songs I've ever heard.
I’m begging you to listen to more music
@@lilstinker1949 don't speak if you know nothing about me
@@pepsi3005 what makes you think it’s more complex than an average dream theatre song?
@@delirioususer9668 Dream Theater is just (x² × 3)³ - log13 music.
@@delirioususer9668 always gotta be that one dream theater nerd
Helena is such a fun riff to play.

Glad to see bullets has the majority, truly an album that deserves more attention than it gets when talking about My Chem
Would have loved to have seen the demo for Bury Me in Black or My Way Home is Through You or Cemetery Drive here. Great list nonetheless!
phenomenal work on these, they sound amazing
Demolition Lovers will forever be my fav mcr song.
Finally, a list that I knew all the songs on it ahead of time! Sounds great!
How the living hell do you make this look so goddamn easy- seriously I mean, I’d say I’m fairly new to learning tough songs on guitar, but damn you’re really giving me the motivation to get better
finally someone who do bullets, I loved it
I've watched this video so many times it's insane; you are an absolutely amazing guitar player
Just by watching like 2 mins of the video I was like ya I'm subscribing right now
I can feel the music when your playing it's so powerful your playing is so awesome
you started it off with my favorite one
YEEEES I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR 4 MOUNTH THANKS SO MUCH MAN! You made my day
Awesome skills
Omg you are so good i love guitar riffs
thank you VERMILION
Top 3 MCR albums in order
1. The first album
2. The second album
3. The third album
say their names you coward /joking
But they have 4...
uh no they have 5 if u count conventional weapons
@@darkjesy7736 yeah, we dont want to talk about that one (this guys list is still wack)
@@quntumnmly7431 nah he's spittin fax
Never listened to mcr much other than the Black Parade, should really learn some of these
helena is so emotional... thank you bro
спасибо!
Our Lady of Sorrows hits so damn hard
mcr will forever be my favorite band
This video is awesome Thank you for doing a MCR riff video 🤘🤘🤘🤩🤩
How can I didn’t see this video before!!! THIS IS AMAZING!
Solid choice of riffs!
Holy shit! This is amazing, all of these are awesome 🤯😁
Ray Toro is very good guitarist. His rift was very good.
Demolition Lovers is such a nice brooding melody
woooow!! Te quedó increíble!!! 🖤🖤🖤
That space in this is how I disappear is so much more apparent without the vocals there it’s so weird hearing it without the “go!”
i love the guitar in headfirst for halos SO MUCH
Headfirst for Halos and Our Lady of Sorrows are infectious and I never see them get enough love. the entire Headfirst intro was a treat to hear, thank you
Love the rerence of you gloves and your gloves as well n.n good riffs!!
this video was so satisfying to watch! :D
I wonder if we are ever gonna see a modern rock/emo band get as famous as MCR was and still is
Ehh I don’t think so. Emo really isn’t that popular anymore within the music scene. I can’t really think of any new emo bands out now.
Well is not that hard, the entire emo revival scene is out there for some reason, you can find it if you focused in specific scenes, is like finding a new thrash metal band because you’re into that style
Well MCR is back so we wont need a revival lmfao
@@seanoconnor2046 there are thousands of new emo bands. some just as good as mcr
Excellent choices. I really like that vid
206К subs and just 8K views, what’s wrong with people🤦🏻♂️, why are they subscribed and didn’t watch this amazing stuff
never knew I needed this until the notification popped up
Omg sleep is so underrated it sounds good keep up the amazing work 🤩
So long, and goodnight.
Great video, need to learn me some more Iero riffs
MCR has so many good riffs. Even though I mostly listen to metal, I borrowed quite a lot of stuff from Frank and Ray playing, specially from the Bullets and Three Cheers albums.
Awww, no love for Conventional Weapons? Boy Division? Tomorrow's Money? MAKE ROOM!!!???? That record is riff city, bro
Agreed, conventional weapons is amazing. I would add these to your list: Gun, The world is ugly, Burn bright and Surrender the night
Beautiful songs
MAKE ROOM!!! Has a phenomenal riff
MCR got me into playing electric guitar❤ they gave me skills
Thank you for MCR! Let's also make the top of the Fall Out Boy riffs
My emo heart is happy now
its criminal for the riff of 'the end' to not then go into !dead messed with my head lmaooo
Omg mcr gives me so nostalgic memories, thank youu
the riff in this is how i disappear is a pretty big part of why that’s my fav mcr song and my favorite song in general
8:46 SO BEAUTIFUL AHHH
Demolition lovers sounds suprisingly like a converge riff
This is so good! Wow!
Bullets have the best riffs in my opinion.
Man, that's was awesome! 👍
Lots of these songs are from bullets, every time you listen to that album gets better and better
Great video! Many tasty riffs (especially Thank You For The Venom, I was hoping you'd include that one!) I only wish you had continued into "Dead!"s amazing opening riff after "The End." instead of Helena. I love Helena as much as the next MCR fan, but I was actually surprised at how underwhelming the guitar/rest of the band sounded on that track without Gerards infamous vocals.
Headfirst for Halos was the first MCR song I’ve ever heard so it’ll always be my favorite.
Kinda surprised Dead! Isn't on here but banger video
I would have added the little part in i never tol you what i do for a living when he sings "and we'll love again, dance again[...]" i love the guitar in that
Vraiment waouh c'est magnifique, c'est vraiment bien fait, juste j'adore. 😀 Je rêve de jouer comme ça mais pour le moment je suis loin de ce niveau 😐
Demolition lovers❤️ solo on that song is so good too
Headfirst for halos was the first propper riff i ever learned
Beautiful octave
I'm very curious about what guitar and amp you have, especially the settings, your tone is so on par with the original songs it's almost unbelievable.
Man this is amazing
It's weird because I grew up in this Era and always considered MCR to be more of an "emo" band and didn't really gain my interest (I was 16 when Black Parade came out). Anyways, I was a big time metal fan, I'm talking the heavier the better. The older I've gotten, the more I appreciate music in general regardless of genre. So I watch a video about the Black Parade concept and I'm listening to the music and thinking to myself "Woah, this is metal." Come to realize I was missing out on a really great genre bending band the whole time. Super happy I found MCR before never. Perfect blend of metal and melodic punk. Especially in the Black Parade.
Their first album is so underrated; personally my favourite riff is "drowning lessons", is so intense and yet bitter
the editing in "This is How I Diseappear" though!! *chefs kiss*
