  • Firing Clay into ceramic with no kiln. Used a stainless steel salad bowl to create a heat trap and protect the pottery from debris as I tried to get it up to 1200 F.
    everything came out fairly well, one of the items had a very short crack near the rim.
    We didn't spend a great deal of time crafting these items as we wanted to conduct this experiment to have been through the entire process, from dirt to ceramic.
    This is the last numbered part of the primitive pottery series, but we will certainly be firing more and ideally more intricate sculptures in the future. How about a mini ceramic rocket stove coffee warmer? haha.
    We also will have a few videos on mixing berries with clays to paint items before firing.
