- Make sure to check out our Icelandic main channel video, where we travel to the famous Blue Lagoon, here! • I Went To A Volcanic S... 🌋🇮🇸🧖🏻♀️
When we were in Iceland a couple months ago, we went to Hagkaup, aka "Icelandic Target", to explore, shop, and acquire a very random but great haul! We got tiny nail polishes, chocolate soap, beer shampoo, a bougie face mask, egg gummies, and bat chocolate 🦇
Apologies to any Icelandic viewers about my pronunciation - we did love your target though!!

You’ve heard of Targé and learned of bojanglés now, Iceland presents: tærgët
Hi im from iceland and i love your videos so much!!!❤😊🇮🇸
Haha glad you liked it ❤
I was surprised at how well you pronounced it! Good job 😎 I might go to a Target one day to experience the American Hagkaup 😂😂
@@semalau11 this letter ë is not in the icelandic alphabet. target spells target in icelandic it sounds the same basically, in some places people say it more like targit or targitt in english depending where in the US. also tær means toes or with a t tært it means clear
The candy in the candy isle is actually 50% off on saturdays, we call it "candy-day"
Paradise
The loose weight candy is a very Nordic thing. We have it in Sweden as well 😁
@@sandraisaksson7853Canada too!
@@SatanicGhostCat where? I'm in Canada, and definitely want to check that out lol!
@@janewaysmom Bulk Barn? I also saw candies and nuts in the loose form in my local Canadian Superstore and save on food as well. In very limited variety though.
the egg gummies tasted like buttered popcorn jelly bellies 🍿
THOSE ARE MY FAVORITE
That’s delicious 🥺🥺🥺
That sounds so good😮
Gross! Hope you liked them, though 😆
1.2 million views and I have now clue who any body is .. this is why I don’t get on my girlfriends account
Target? That's BETTER than Target!
Agreed.
Thank you i live in iceland❤
I know! Art supplies like Michael's and a rotisserie chicken cooker? This is being added to my list of things to do when I visit Iceland 🤩
The wool!! 😍Icelandic wool is some of the best and most coveted!
niðurgangur og fret🗿 this means : the store is so cool (make sure to say that on a store in iceland)
I didn’t think I needed chocolate soap.
I stand corrected
i use chocolate scented axe body wash deodorant and body spray
My mom makes soap bars and she has made a batch of chocolate orange soap. It smells so much like dessert that my brain was like malfunctioning 😂 It felt like I couldn’t possibly get clean and rub dessert on myself at the same time lol
I had some, it made the shower brown
The beer shampoo makes your hair really shiney and strong.
@@judas1523 I used to have that one!
I def could have watched a full video just in shopping here.
She better go back to Iceland just to go here :p
Watching then wishing I was there to shop as well
A YARN CORRIDOR?!?!!! Bruh, sign me up!!!
Omg I grew up in Iceland and i loveee that more and more people are promoting since it’s been unknown for so long😂❤
What😭
Unknown? How is Iceland “unknown?”
Please say you’re doing a whole video on your items you purchased at the Icelandic target
Ohhhhh I hope they do this !!!!!
I want her to have gotten every nail color to do an icelandic franken of them 😂
@@mhmartin86 I was thinking the same when she was smelling the candles lol
Yesss
She literally had a tiny bag of stuff
That yarn section was filled with Lopi, a fairly coarse but sturdy yarn that comes in many gorgeous colours and is required to make the Icelandic/Scandinavian knitted pullover with patterned yoke called a Lopapeysa. They are beautiful sweaters & also highly wind & water resistant
Thank you for the in depth description of the yarn.
OMG, I love to crotchet and I wish the USA target sold yarn😂
Oh my god wait really????? I had assumed it was like the big box store yarns we have in america like lion brand, but holy shit if it's Lopi then i will never leave that aisle
@@raquelguerra3149target may not sell yarn but Michaels the craft store does in the US. Or Amazon
A veritable yarn corridor, if you will.
Why Yes.
Yes I Will..
There's just something about your voice. Its so calming
Sounds shockingly like Cobie Smulders from How I Met Your Mother
@@genericuserid7283391 literally
Really? That's funny because I find the accent a bit annoying.
I really like how she emphasizes every single word she says like the script is written in all bold letters.
It’s so cool to see that Iceland has the same candy as we do here in Sweden lol, it’s something so small but so fun
Banger lösgodis
Same in Norway
Target not having a crafts section, or a very good one, has always been one of my biggest gripes. Glad for y'all having a nice big section!
Put that yarn corridor in Target NOW!
It also makes so much sense in Iceland. Yarns = crocheted or knitted sweaters, scarves, and mittens.
As someone who use to be a visual merchandiser in Target, when they did do a craft section, it didn't do very well. Almost everything went to clearance, so business wise it doesn't make sense especially when so many people go to Joanne's, Michael's, Hobby Lobby, etc.
@@marieso2293 I live in Alaska, so it's only fair that our Target should have a yarn section like that!
The grandmas would riot if we took away the yarn
Next video: I buy and mix together every candles in Icelandic Target
Id love to see her lug back all those on the plane haha😂 But god damn did I wanna see it too
@@VodkaMutini413 imagine they scan her luggage through tsa and its just full of Icelandic candies and nothing else and the agent just giggles a little and lets her through to her flight😭
@@Bella-wz9xw lmfao what a legend 😅😂😭
I could listen to this woman read the news and weather to me all day. Just something so respectable yet assuring about her voice 😩
I haven’t seen you and Tyler on my timeline in a while, Safi!! This makes me happy. ❤
BRB moving to iceland -- a yarn hoarder
You can even find yarn at some gas stations and small grocery stores! --another yarn hoarder who has spent too much money in Iceland
What!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩 As Canada as a " similar" kind of winter-cold / summer of 2 months weather, we should totally have yarn sold at those places too!!!😄
My parents brought me back Icelandic yarn. Their wool is so cool and unique! I love it.
Same girl
You wanna carpool?! We can share our Ravelry libraries on the flight~
I didn't think I'd wanna see Iceland more than seeing you combine it with my fantasy of traveling abroad for the first time and spending a day in a supermarket in awe at random stuff 😅
As a Swedish person the specialty candy’s you showed were completely normal
Can I stay with you on vacation. You know , To get the real feel of Iceland . ❤❤❤???
These are pretty normal in my part of the US too. Not at Target, but tons of other places.
@@brendak.44440couch surfing! I did this to get an authentic look at the country I traveled to
Lördagsgodis! ❤
I go to sweeden just to get cheap candy😂 (im from norway btw)
I feel like a yarn aisle is a necessity if you get solid Winters
I was stationed in Iceland for two years in the 1980's....my son was born there and I would love to visit again.
Finland has also “target”, it’s called Tokmanni
😃😃😃😃😃
Okay.
Bath stuff, tiny nail polishes, candles, a yarn isle, and a candy isle? My bucket list just lengthened!
The tiny nail polishes are actually a brand from Sweden called Depend 🙂
That's better than any target I've ever seen
😂😂😂😂 what a joke . How many you have seen . Go elsewere to fuck around not here boso
It looks more like a super store than I normal target
Love her calling it specialty candy- the candy that I saw is common lösgodis, ”loose candy”, throughout the nordic countries. That’s the most common way of consuming candy here, by picking and customizing your own mix!
ég vona að þér líkaði ferðin þín til landsins okkar! Its beautiful yes!
I need more content like this! Love seeing normal things for people from other cultures
now we just need a haul video!
Yes!
She came out with her grocery bag seemed like only candy was in there😂
Iceland is amazing. Went last year and did not want to leave.
I lived in Iceland for two years in the 1980's. I actually loved it there. The island is beautiful
Chickens roasting on an open fiiiire…
As a crochet fiend that yarn section made me happy 😂❤
YES! I WANT TO GO THERE!
I very respectfully and humorously disagree that it's like Target because no Target sells half the things you showed us! IT'S SOOOOOOO much better than a Target! lol
The way you speak leads me to believe you would be excellent at being a news host
That yarn section is my dream oh my gosh.
fr, it's so big but well-organized 😍
As a crocheter, it is my dream too lol
I’m half-Icelandic and go to Iceland every year and every single supermarket (like netto) I’ve been in always has a yarn wall
To be fair over here it is actually popular with the younger generations, and not just the older people.
The way I got excited about the yarn ❤
My mom would absolutely L O V E that yarn aisle omg
I could only WISH Target was like this!
Candy isles like that is the norm in Scandinavian countries. But despite that we teach kids that you only eat candy on Saturdays.
Too much candy and chips in stoes.
because half off! lmao
I was in Sweden for a week and was given way more candy than I’d eaten in years in the US. I had asked my friend what foods I absolutely needed to try before going home. They were all desserts. 😅
Wow and nothing under lock and key. Awesome!!
this place looks so fun to browse!!
I go there a lot since I’m Icelandic and live in Iceland 🇮🇸 ❤😅 but I would really like to go to target 😊 also I love how you say Hagkaup 😅❤
Love from Iceland!!
Edited: omg I didint notice but then I watched it again and I have that EXACT nail polish 💅🏻 😅❤
Melting every soap from Iceland target
Yoooo that om nom Icelandic chocolate is top tier delicious!! Especially the coffee flavor you grabbed 😻
100% better than target hands down!
Honestly, this seems somehow wayyy better than target
WHAT?!?! This is WAY BETTER than our target!! 😮
I mean there is a reason why I as a local am insulted at this being called a target, however most of us wouldn't give a shit lol I just have some national pride in me.
Iceland is one of my favorite countries I've ever had the privilege to visit. They are so kind and the country is so beautiful. Reykjavik is probably my favorite city in the world (I just wish they had more sunlight :)
This is like target mixed with Joan’s, Trader Joe’s, home goods, and Sephora. I want to go there now 😭😂
Don’t be shy, drop the haul video!! 😍
I sat straight up looking at that yarn section
I would have pronounced the store name as "Hack-i-up"....lol😂 Like pack it up, haha! Totally would have packed up a cart to the brim with goodies😊
A crocheter/knitters paradise
Walking in without looking for anything in particular and coming out with a bunch of random things… I agree with Safiya, definitely seems like Target 😂😂
I would watch a full hour of you guys walking through Icelandic Target, even the full-length ads ❤❤❤
I worked at Target for 20 years and in my opinion that is definitely the Icelandic version Icelandic version of Target couldn't think of a better place to shop
I NEED TO SEE THE YARN CORRIDOR!!! 😭💛💛💛
I need this as a full video 🤣 or testing products from this shop 👌
Man, I really wanna go to Iceland. Icelandic people are amazing. I can't make my mouth make the words. 😔
Icelandic people r a mix or nice and horrible. Coming from someone who has lived in iceland their whole life
I think we’re very safe here… other than the wild children and teens lol you do not want to meet the middle schoolers here
If I had the money I might enjoy this
I’m so glad you guys can travel
I really Love your videos so much
I get to see and learn about things and places I would otherwise never know about
I'm not gonna lie, I love yarn. I'm a crochet fanatic
Americans discovering pick and mix candy by the kilo for the first time is my favorite thing
We have this but not at our targets that’s so cool tho.
The american problem with that statment is the metric system 😂
@@nitsannachtom6660 oh yea that part would get me too 😂
Yeah we have it in most candy stores just not usually grocery stores…
We have dedicated candy stores…
It reminds me of a cross between Target and Meijer - which is a Michigan/Midwestern based store. I am not close to one anymore, so I don't know if they still do, but they used to have meat and deli counters where they made food in-house, a bulk bin (or Pick-a-Mix) candy aisle, and also a pretty good yarn selection.
as a former Michigander myself I can tell you that Meijer is def still like that, lol
The newer Meijers are decorated pretty similar to this as well.
The translation of what that's called here in iceland is (mix in a bag)
Meijer doesn't do bulk candy anymore. They have their own 'fancy' brand called Frederik Meijer with everything separated into it's own container. I miss the old Meijer salad bar and the bulk items like oats. You can't even grind your coffee anymore. Have to go to Horrock's for whole bean coffee.
listen as a former Michigander currently living in Iceland it is more like an overpriced Meijer than Target. I promise you!
Thanks now i know where should i go for my makeup shopping
Oh that place looks awesome.
It made me want this candy they used to sell in bins like that at the movie theater when I was a kid
One day, I hope to find a partner as awkward, adorable, relatable, and chaotic as Saf and Tyler. They're relationship goals.
Will there be more Iceland content?
As someone who crochets, that yarn isle is my dream isle
Oh I love those nailpolishes! They're a third of both size and price of the regular name brands (essie, opi), so they're perfect if you wanna just test a shade out!
I need a haul of what you got! Very curious. From a Canadian who never gets to shop in a target.
I did not know there was a gummy gudetama 😂
Okay...yarn, holo nail polish and candles? AND candies?? I'm putting it on my bucket list lol
That yarn section is a crocheter's dream
Gummy eggs are the best! You have great taste Saf! I've been really enjoying these Icelandic videos, can't wait to see more! ❤️ ❤️
That looks so awesome. I wanna go to Iceland now just to shop there lmao. I would walk out broke.
well now I need to go to iceland just for this store. I grew up visiting Denmark a lot as a child so I've made it a future plan to see more of all the Scandinavian countries.
As a crocheter...GIMMIE THE YARN ISLE, TARGET!!
I would have bought so much yarn
i like eggs
same
me too
Better than Target!!! 🤩
Omnom chocolate is AMAZING 😍 100% recommend
You should’ve tried the beer shampoo 😫😫😫😫
we got that and the chocolate soap hehe
@@safiyaOf course you did lol. The temptation was probably too much to resist 😂
Aw man you don't have fried egg sweets in the US? An iconic sweet from pick & mix!!
No, thank God. Lol
Right? They're delicious! So sweet and gummy, love them.
In Canada we don’t have target anymore but we have winners or marshals whatever it’s called now a-days. You can buy makeup, clothes, toys, shoes, bags, etc etc all in one spot!
knitting is still very popular/culture in nordic countries. apparently grocery stores have yarn aisles too. although that might be more rural places.
Target unfortunately has gone woke and selling children’s pride clothing
It's giving target and aldi put together ❤️
This store is awesome! Look how clean it is!!! Target where I live has most of the products thrown around, clothes on the floor and a line out the door because they always have only 1 cashier on a Saturday. Look at how clean the floor is!
Thank u for exploring my country❤
Looks better than my Target!!
Skincare, yarn section even CANDY section. I would be in heaven
as a person that crochets, the yarn section is heaven
This place seems so much better than Target. Plus, it’s so clean and organized; I love to go and shop at a place like this.
This is like Target on steroids I love it!
Missed this when we were in Iceland, loved Iceland and really didn’t need Target🙂
So nice and clean. That is how my neighborhood Target used to look like until 2015. Then the city stopped enforcing laws.
When we lived in TX, the market chain there is called H.E.B. It was always clean, most locations. The selections, back in 2013-2015, was excellent. They also had fresh whole chicken on grill and rotisserie marinated in a Citrus narinade/bbq. That was delicious. Now back at my home state and prefer the Asian markets for the greens.
I love those fried egg lollies!! If they're the same as the ones sold at my local Australian Coles supermarkets, they're delicious with a chewy gummy texture and a nice tangy lemon flavour.
