Zappa was 100% correct. He was a genius and he wasn't fooled by the nonsense going on that other people swallow without a second though. Stupidity/Ignorance has been around for eons. People still buy into lies fed to them on a daily basis about, like George Carlin said, what to THINK, what to BELIEVE, and what to BUY. But, of course, anyone who opposes the status quo of ignorance these days has their voice drowned out by the deafening gale of arrogance, narcissism, and fear.
