I guess I dont get it...🤔
Anyone can do solo better .... but no ones care..
Aua!
For Me, Frank just got better and better. Just see the technique He was employing on the last track. Other, mere mortal, guitarists, couldn't even think of doing things like that. He really was a God among men.
Terrible solos. Noise 😅
Task failed, successfully.
why is this not on the dick cavett youtube?
I watch this one night when I was in high school. it was on public TV and they were requesting donations. I called them and donated $50, using my friends dads name. They kept sending him a bill for the money. It was funny because he hated all things rock ‘n’ roll. I felt bad when I got older. 😂
Awful. Just noodling on a guitar and tryin' so damned hard to be too cool for school.
Phi Zappa Crappa... A wonderful Soul
what do you do when you cant write a good piece? you claim "its a style". improvised shit
KINDA AGREE -- HE DID HAVE STYLE & WAS PRETTY GOOD AT IT I GUESS - VERY LITTLE OF IT EVER DID ANYTHING AT ALL FOR EM THOUGH
".. you've got a piece of time and you've got to decorate it.." - Zapa - His interview he does not have prepared solos..
Only just noticed.. and noticed in a BIG way.. Frank looks exactly like John Mcafee
What would he say today?
no one like you!❤❤❤
"Black Napkins" I heard somewhere when I was about 12 yrs. old in the late 1970s and I now just finally found out who played it. This is weird, I am getting goose bumps at 50 years later listing to it because I am back there as a child right now in the best decade ever, the magical 70s.
3rd was sweet. Reminiscent of led Zeppelin and acdc mixed
Hes great for sure but missing a little soul on my opinion. Check out Eddie Hazel.
unpopular opinion: FZ solos are random ,not that impessive and kinda boring. He is not even close to the similar style Hendrix. He is a cult character and i know he likes to say no one plays like him. Yes Frank ,great guitar players are perfectionists with solos that have beginning ,middle ,peak ,and ending. All in great harmony. Thats pretty much what i want from a guitar player.Perfection and harmony. If i want random inspiration in notes i ll put some jazz.
These are so bad lol 😅
I sooooo wish he was still here He would absolutely be leading the fight against trump. I was at his concerts f magic he was signing concert goers up to vote I will ALWAYS love a man with integrity intelligence & musical genius oh yea and a f moral compass 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉Vote f BLUE 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Is this Serj Tankian's uncle or something?
Pleased for all of you that love his playing, but it does nothing for me at all. It doesn’t move me, it doesn’t have a great tune, it’s just background supermarket music for me.
Am I the only one that thinks this guy is actually terrible?
Horrible playing...bad noodling, painful to hear..
Zappa was 15 years older than EVH, and deserves respect for helping pave the way … 🤷🏻♂️
Spine tingling. "NOT"
One giant noodling section. I saw somewhere he was shitting on guitarists for actually coming up with solos and practicing them….well I could do what he’s doing in this video. He’s playing a lead to certain keys and tempo of the song and doing nothing spectacular. It’s all noodling. Put this up against a Gilmour or Gary Moore solo and you’ll see what soul is. This is trash.
Im here from Tik tok
Two things: 1. This proves you don’t need to sound good to be famous. 2. Order beats chaos any day.
Zappa is one of those who really made a difference.
He was not a good guitarist thats why he never played the same shitty soo twice.
Been on the zZappa team since i was 15 in 1967-8, recognized his genius, suzy creamcheese was such a fuk u to the establishement, politics, music industry, hollywood and the general duplicity and malaise that existed at the time, Frank didnt buy it and neither did a few of us....love him for never buyin in or sellin out, for his intellectual intelligence, music genius and honesty...
tuneless
I don't find his solos at all musical or pleasant to listen to at all.
was going to say sounds very self-indulgent, but thought i best check, and, of course, the guy gifted his audience. Clearly a master of his craft.
I see right through this garbage. A bunch of random wanking with no phrasing, melody or sense of flow. I don't care if it's spontaneous off the top of his head. If that's the case he should have planned something out.
I agree. I love his attitude, but you can hear when he becomes self conscious & disconnected from what he’s playing. I wish he were better
Zappa was an absolute musical genius
Black Napkins always gets me.
one thing i do notice. he does seem for the most part stay on key with the backing song. If you do that then its good iprovasation...if not it sound horrible. He's just free forming it but again, its in key so it sounds good and not just completely random
The different styles are outstanding… ❤
I was hoping for something great. Sounds like a bunch of experimental scrap tracks.
Great vid, thanks, I wish St. Etienne was in it too.
Reminds me of Jeff Beck with all the hammer ons and pull offs and whammy action.
He seems to be just out of ideas...
A fucking rookie playing around in his room
First one was pure delusional stuff. No sense
The second will always be one of my favorites. The feeling of it all together is perfect
LONG LIVE FRANK ZAPPA...R.I.P😢❤.
It's amazing how the MAGA crowd thinks Zappa would have "been on their side" simply because he was against political correctness - as if that alone could make someone even remotely right-wing. Zappa despised Reagan and the Christian right, and he would have attacked the modern Republican party just as much as he would have attacked PC/"woke" culture from the left.
